215 Begging
Slowly he turned around, seeing Dr. Mord with five guards right behind him. âHow do you like my trap?â he asked with a dark chuckle, as if this was all a game. I could tell from his voice that he knew we were here and that he had planned for it.
âHow..how did you...â Fulton muttered as Dr. Mord laughed with a cackle in his voice, âhow did you know? You have to be cheating!â
âCheating? How so?â Dr. Mord asked as he stood in front of the table, âI am the one that is telling you that I made a trap that has obviously worked. Remember when you captured Jameson? We made a plan to lead you guys here, and although we did try to kill you guys in between that time. Clearly you dodged those and fell right into this next trap. Great job.â
I looked at him, anger boiling and circulating inside of me. âYou sick little-â Fulton hissed but Dr. Mord rose up his hands with a certain calmness. âSave your anger for later, clearly I donât have time for it,â he said, as he shook his head, âbecause thereâs a much more pressing issue.â
âAnd what would that be?â Fulton asked as he tried to step back, but the guards stopped him. I looked at them, and they all looked like soldiers but none of them had a uniform on, and they were all wearing a blue band on their arm which I saw were filled with blue flames.
âWell, Iâm not sure,â Dr. Mord said with a smile. âMaybe exacting my revenge which reminds me, whereâs the others uh-Charlie Company? You might wanna call them.â
âWhat sick plan do you have?â Fulton hissed at him, as Dr. Mord continued to laugh while he walked around behind the table. He seemed almost like a showman or a ringmaster in the circus. âNow thatâs just rude,â he said while shaking his head as got close to Fulton, âI thought you were going to try and play nice.â
âWhat is your sick plan?!â Fulton yelled out, his eyes turning red, âI demand to know what it is!â
âWell based on how the tables are, in a figurative way, I think you have no power here,â Dr. Mord said, as he stood with his arms crossed. âIt seems like you guys have already been dealt with.â
.....
I was about to run over and get to Fulton, but he shook me off.
âDonât you dare,â Fulton hissed, looking back at me as I stood there with my mouth open. âHeâs just trying to provoke you.â Dr. Mord shrugged, âI sort of am. But dear Fulton Rocke, you donât concern me. In fact, Iâm quite impressed with you and your organization. From many years in the ground you rose it up to be one of the top organizations in all of the world. But Iâm more concerned about that of those two kids. Connor and Malachi. Theyâre the ones I want.â
âIs this about your sister? Maddie Cone? How she killed herself?â I asked him and his face froze. âShe did not kill herself-you killed her,â Dr. Mord hissed at us, as he sat back down behind the table, âand I will make it my lifeâs work to see you both dead.â
âWhat proof do you have?â Malachi asked, as his hands started to sweat.
âI have a video,â Dr. Mord said as he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out an iPad.
I gasped and leaned forward as I held out my hand for it, but he slapped it away.
âYou donât need to touch it,â He smiled as he looked over at me. âI saw what happened already. And you deserve to pay, no matter what. But Iâm not going to kill you with my gun-no, something much worse.â I gulped as fear took over my entire body like a rushing wind, âIâm going to do something much more horrible, and that is to make you watch as your friends die.â
âWhat?â I asked, trying not to let my voice shake as I thought of what could possibly be done. âWhat do you mean?â
âYouâll see,â he muttered as he looked at me, his eyes keen with revenge, âand I promise it will be painful.â
âYouâre sick!â I yelled as I looked around the room for help and saw the other agents.
âYou donât understand what itâs like to have a sister you love and then to lose her. She was the best person I ever knew and I loved her more than anything,â he said. âShe was like a mother to me, and you took her away. I respected her, I loved her. She was the best thing that ever happened to me.â
I could hear his voice breaking, the sorrow that captivated him, the loss that consumed him, the hate that he felt for me, âShe was perfect, and you took that from me. I hate you dearly.â
âDearly?â Malachi hissed. âDonât give me that sob story and expect me to care.â
Malachi shouldâve not said that.
Malachi shouldâve not said that!
âYou donât know what pain is,â Dr. Mord said, âor youâd never do what you did to us. And you have the nerve to say that to me.â He immediately walked over and all of a sudden, threw a hard punch at Malachiâs face. The sound of what couldâve been bones cracking almost made me puke, as Malachi stumbled back, but didnât fall.
âYouâre not going to stop me.â Dr. Mord was clearly enraged. âNo one can stop me from what I want to do!â
âWe will,â Malachi coughed, blood splattering on the floor from his mouth as he started to stand up. âYou are going to pay for what youâve done, even if itâs not in this life.â But then Dr. Mord threw another punch, this time harder as the blood spurt from Malachiâs mouth, and he collapsed again.
âItâs too late,â he whispered as he started to pass out. âI donât care what you do, I wonât stop.â
âStop!â I shouted at Dr. Mord as he looked at me, chuckling as Jones and Hanover looked in fear, knowing they werenât in control of the situation any longer.
âYouâre in no position to be ordering me about,â Dr. Mord hissed as he looked at me with contempt. âNone any single bit,â he added with a hiss, âI know who you are, I know your name.â He took a step forward and I took one back.
âI have watched you,â he said, âand I promise you will suffer.â
He took a deep breath before turning over to Fulton. âSo, hereâs what I want you to do. Call Charlie Company on that radio of yours. Now.â
Fultonâs eyes widened and he immediately grabbed it and hit the button on it, and I could hear him call out, âCharlie, this is Fulton. We need reinforcements.â He shut it off before looking up at Dr. Mord who smiled, âWell, that wasnât so hard was it?â
He started to laugh hysterically as he looked back at me with those dark eyes filled with insanity. âNow, September, Nikki and Tisiah can come and then Iâll be complete,â he said with a chuckle. âPower. Itâs one thing better than money.â He looked over at them and laughed hysterically. âAnd they will have to pay for what they did, just like you.â
The anger I had was too much for me to bear, and I just felt like speeding towards him with my legs barely hitting the ground, and rip his neck apart, but that would just make him more angry. So I did the only thing I could think of to do and I yelled as loudly as I could, âDr. Mord!â
He turned to me with a smile, as if I was his only friend in the world. âYes?â he asked innocently.
âIf you want me dead, then kill me,â I said with a shiver as I stood in front of him. âKill me now, but let these others go. I was the main one there. While I donât believe I killed her, I took her away from you. Iâm sorry and Iâll pay for it, but donât kill any of my friends please...â
Dr. Mord looked at me, but with no words exiting his mouth, he simply smiled. Then I heard Jones and Hanover gasp. âItâs too late,â he whispered as he started to pass out. âI donât care what you do, I wonât stop. They deserve it as much as you do, so no-I wonât give mercy on them. Iâm going to enjoy watching them die slowly.â He said as he looked back at me with those eyes full of madness, but it was a different kind of madness than before.
It was almost as if he had pleasure watching me beg, knowing he would have no mercy. And that was all I could do, beg. And while I was begging for my life, my mind started to wonder, if it wasnât too late, maybe I could have tried something else. But what? I had to do something before it was too late.
I felt like my head was spinning as my mind thought of all the possible things I could do.
