Lexie stood by the side while waiting for Jocelyn. She did not walk forward either. Jocelyn raised her brow. “Director Claude!” Zayn was beyond worried. “Jocelyn, are you alright?”

Jocelyn shook her head and said, “I’m fine. I just have a wound on my forehead. The doctor was afraid that I’d suffer from a concussion, so he asked me to get a scan of my chest and head.”

Zayn sighed in relief and nodded. “The doctor was right. You should receive a thorough examination.

After all, some people experience concussion a long time after getting into a car accident!”

Jocelyn nodded and said, “Yes, I’ll receive all the examinations!”

Zayn looked at Jocelyn and tried to say something. However, he stopped himself before he could ask her anything. “You should get examined first. After that, there’s something that I’d like to discuss with you!”

Jocelyn frowned. “What is it? Can’t we talk about it here? It’s late now. I think the sky will be dark once it’s all over. She had gotten off work at half-past five, and the car accident had taken place at six. It was now seven in the evening.

Zayn looked at her in exasperation. “This… has something to do with the car accident!”

Jocelyn recalled the gruesome scene of the car accident, and she felt her stomach heave. Her gaze flashed as she said, “Wait for a while. I need to receive one more examination. Let’s talk after that!”

Zayn nodded. To save time, he walked Jocelyn to the examination room himself. It was all over shortly.

Jocelyn brought Lexie to Zayn’s office.

Zayn looked at Lexie and felt rather hesitant. Jocelyn said, “It’s alright. Say anything you want, Director Claude. Lexie won’t go around spilling the details. I never hide anything from her!”

Lexie stood by the side. It was as if she had not heard the conversation between both of them.

Zayn sighed after hearing what Jocelyn said. “I’ll tell you this straight away then. Jocelyn, what’s the relationship between you and… Skyler Moore?”

Lexie and Jocelyn looked at Zayn at the same time after hearing what Zayn said.

There was a rather unnatural expression on Zayn’s face. An awkward expression flashed across the delicate features of his face. “I don’t mean anything else by asking you this question. I’m just… looking for a starting point! If you don’t feel comfortable answering this question, you don’t have to!”

“What starting point?” Jocelyn frowned as she looked at Zayn. She did not answer his question at all.

Zayn pursed his lips and said, “While I was looking for Lynn in the past two days, I also carried out an investigation on the exact situation that happened to the Quirrel family previously. Skyler Moore has been involved in this incident from beginning to end. Although he didn’t do anything illegal, it seems like he was the culprit that has been egging things on behind the scenes!”

Jocelyn frowned and said, “Director Claude, I don’t really understand what you mean!”

Zayn took in a deep breath and said, “I found out that Skyler Moore was the one who provided the evidence for Mr. Quirrel’s police report. Of course, the evidence had not been faked. He was carrying out his duties as a responsible citizen!”

“Is there anything wrong with that?” Jocelyn looked at Zayn in confusion.

Zayn glanced at Jocelyn and said, “I also found out that Skyler was the one who caught the person that spiked the alcohol during my mother’s birthday gala. Besides, the Quirrel family met with a crisis the very next day!”

Jocelyn raised her brows slightly. There was an unpleasant expression on her face. “Do you mean that Skyler had been taking revenge for me as Lynn was the one who had instructed that person to spike the alcohol?” Jocelyn was extremely shocked. If that was the case, she had guessed everything correctly back then.

Lynn had ordered someone to spike the alcohol, and she had poisoned herself to prevent others from being suspicious of her.

She had poisoned so many other people just to distract their attention from her!

Zayn felt rather exasperated. “I made many guesses, and this is the only guess that seems valid and makes more sense!”

Jocelyn sat on the sofa quietly without saying anything.

Zayn added, “Also, Lily could marry Howard back then because Skyler gave the Jung family a project.

Skyler has been involved in this all along. I can’t help but be suspicious of him!” Jocelyn raised her head to glance at Zayn. This incident had truly shocked her.

However, she still took Skyler’s side instinctively. “Did he do anything illegal?” Zayn shook his head and said, “No, he just gave the Quirrel family the rightful punishment that they deserved and made Lily and Howard’s marriage possible! However, Lynn was forced to the brink of despair. She went mad and tried to end Howard and Lily’s lives with all her might. Eventually, all three of them were met with terrible outcomes. “Jocelyn, I don’t know what grudges he holds against three of them, but the three of them have all hurt you before, right? Jocelyn raised her gaze to glance at him. “Since you’ve found out everything, why are you still asking me about this? Do you think that I asked Skyler Moore to do all of this?”

Jocelyn smirked sarcastically and said, “of course, he’d have to be willing to listen to what I say in the first place for that to happen!” Zayn looked at Jocelyn in exasperation and shook his head. “Jocelyn, don’t say that. I didn’t mean anything like that. I know what kind of person you are. I just feel like all of this is part of a major scheme against Howard, Lily, and Lynn!” “Skyler Moore is a very smart person. He should’ve expected all of this to happen when he went against the Quirrel family and urged Lily and Howard to get married! Jocelyn, if he was the one behind all of this, and yet he still managed to keep his hands clean, that just shows how much of a terrifying person he is!”
