Chapter 14: Taehyung vs. The Desperate Wannabes

The battle against Jisung’s pack had barely ended, but Taehyung’s real battle was just beginning—against the ever-growing flock of desperate Alphas, Omegas, and Betas who still thought they had a chance with Jungkook.

The news of Jungkook’s victory spread like wildfire, drawing attention from all corners. Unfortunately, this also meant that every power-hungry Alpha and their desperate little fan club saw this as an opportunity to get close to him.

And Taehyung? Oh, he was about to have the time of his life roasting every single one of them.

At the Pack Gathering Hall

Jungkook sat at the head of the long wooden table, discussing border security with Namjoon and Yoongi, when the doors dramatically burst open.

Taehyung barely reacted. He had sensed the headache before they even arrived.

In strutted Jungkook’s stepmother, Lady Haejin, followed closely by a perfectly dressed Omega—Minah, the daughter of one of her old friends.

Jungkook let out a tired sigh. “Here we go…”

Minah sauntered toward Jungkook with an exaggerated sway of her hips, batting her lashes in what she probably thought was a seductive way. “Alpha Jungkook,” she purred, “it’s been too long.”

Taehyung immediately dry heaved. Out loud.

Minah froze mid-step. “E-Excuse me?”

Taehyung blinked innocently. “Oh, I’m sorry. That was my body rejecting the sheer amount of delusion in the air.”

Yoongi choked on his drink.

Jungkook hid a smirk behind his hand.

Lady Haejin shot Taehyung a glare before turning to Jungkook. “Jungkook, darling,” she said sweetly, “I was just telling Minah how much your father adores her. She would make such a fine Luna—”

Taehyung cut in before Jungkook could even speak. “Oh, so we’re doing comedy now? Because that’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all day.”

Minah huffed, placing a hand on her chest. “I don’t see what’s so funny about it. I come from a noble bloodline, I was raised to be a Luna, and I could offer so much more than—”

Taehyung held up a finger. “Stop right there. Let’s not embarrass yourself further.” He leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms. “You could offer more? More what exactly? More delusion? More cringe? More second-hand embarrassment?”

Jungkook let out a slow exhale, trying to keep his laughter contained.

Namjoon, ever the peacekeeper, cleared his throat. “Lady Haejin, with all due respect, Jungkook already has a Luna. Taehyung is his mate. This discussion is pointless.”

Minah scoffed. “Mate? Please. It’s obvious he doesn’t care about him. Everyone sees how Jungkook barely acknowledges him in public.”

Taehyung gasped dramatically, placing a hand over his chest. “Oh no! Whatever shall I do? My own mate doesn’t smother me with attention in public! I guess I’ll just go home and—oh wait. I live with him. And he worships me there.”

Jungkook nodded in agreement. “That’s true.”

Minah’s eye twitched.

Lady Haejin tried again. “Jungkook, dear, I know you think you love Taehyung, but think logically. Minah is more suited for this role—”

Taehyung cut her off with a dramatic sigh. “You know, Lady Haejin, I have to admire your commitment to being this delusional. Really. It must take effort to be this out of touch with reality.”

“You—!”

Taehyung leaned forward with a fake sympathetic smile. “Let me break it down for you real simple, okay? Jungkook is mine. Our pups are mine. This pack’s Luna title is mine. Your plans? Ruined. Your delusions? Shattered. Your backup plans? Nonexistent.”

Minah clenched her fists. “You’re nothing but a—”

“Ah, ah, ah,” Taehyung tsked. “Careful now. You don’t want to finish that sentence unless you want to leave this room in pieces.”

Jungkook finally decided to speak. “Taehyung is my Luna. That’s final. If anyone disrespects him, they’re disrespecting me.” His voice was low, but it carried a weight of finality.

Minah paled slightly.

Lady Haejin, however, wasn’t finished. “You’re making a mistake,” she hissed.

Jungkook’s gaze turned ice-cold. “No, you made a mistake by thinking I’d ever let you decide my life for me.”

Lady Haejin stiffened, but before she could respond, Taehyung clapped his hands. “Well! This has been a lovely waste of time, but we’ve got actual important things to do.” He turned to Jungkook with a smirk. “Come on, Alpha. We have a pack to rule.”

Jungkook chuckled, standing up and slipping an arm around Taehyung’s waist. “Of course, Luna.”

Lady Haejin and Minah watched in silent fury as the power couple walked away—unbothered, undefeated, and absolutely thriving.

And if Taehyung purposely swayed his hips just to rub salt in the wound?

Well.

That was just a bonus.
