Chapter 13: The Alpha’s Fury

The moon hung low in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the tense battlefield. Jungkook stood tall at the front of his pack, his golden eyes locked onto the rival Alpha, who smirked arrogantly from the opposite side. The tension was thick, and Taehyung, standing just beside Jungkook, could already tell that things were about to get messy.

The rival Alpha, a man named Jisung, took a slow step forward, his arms crossed over his chest. “So, this is the infamous Alpha Jungkook,” he sneered. “I’ve heard a lot about you.”

Jungkook didn’t flinch. “Funny. I’ve never heard of you.”

Taehyung snorted, covering his mouth to hide his laughter. “Ooooh, burn. You should apply some aloe vera for that one.”

Some of the pack warriors chuckled, but the mood quickly turned dark again as Jisung’s expression twisted in anger. “I don’t need you to know me. What matters is that I know you. And I know that you’re weak.”

Jungkook’s eyes darkened. “Excuse me?”

Jisung smirked, gesturing lazily toward the pack behind him. “Everyone knows you let your so-called ‘mate’ and pups suffer while you sit on your throne, acting like a king. The whole world whispers about how your Luna is neglected, how your pups don’t even carry your name.”

Jungkook’s entire body went rigid. The temperature around them seemed to drop as his aura grew suffocatingly powerful. But before Jungkook could respond, Taehyung took a slow, deliberate step forward.

“You know,” Taehyung began, voice dripping with amusement, “I had a feeling you were dumb, but wow—you really exceeded my expectations.”

Jisung’s smirk faltered. “What?”

“I mean, it takes a special kind of idiot to walk into MY territory,” Taehyung continued, voice loud enough for everyone to hear, “insult MY mate, and think that you’ll leave with your limbs still attached.”

Jisung’s pack shuffled nervously as Jungkook’s warriors grinned, clearly enjoying their Luna’s performance.

“You’re just a bitter little Alpha with an inferiority complex,” Taehyung went on, crossing his arms. “Did daddy not hug you enough? Did your last Luna run off because your tiny brain couldn’t handle an actual relationship?”

One of Jisung’s Betas let out an awkward cough, trying to stifle a laugh.

“You dare—?!” Jisung snarled.

Taehyung held up a finger. “No, no, don’t interrupt. I’m on a roll. You came here thinking you could intimidate us? You came here thinking you could take our land? Sweetheart, you must’ve lost your damn mind.”

Jungkook smirked, amused despite his anger. He knew Taehyung had a sharp tongue, but watching him verbally tear apart a rival Alpha? It was oddly satisfying.

“You see, my mate over here—” Taehyung gestured to Jungkook “—has been holding back because he’s a civilized, responsible leader. But me? Oh, I’m petty. And you just gave me the perfect excuse to let him loose.”

Taehyung turned to Jungkook with an innocent smile. “Baby, can we kill them now?”

Jungkook cracked his knuckles. “Gladly.”

Jisung barely had time to react before Jungkook lunged, moving with the kind of speed only an Alpha of his caliber possessed. His fist connected with Jisung’s jaw so hard that the rival Alpha was sent flying backward, crashing into the dirt with a strangled gasp.

Chaos erupted.

Jungkook’s pack charged forward, meeting Jisung’s warriors head-on. Growls, roars, and the sound of flesh colliding filled the night air. Wolves shifted left and right, their howls echoing through the battlefield.

Taehyung, meanwhile, was having the time of his life.

He dodged a clumsy Beta who tried to attack him, flipping them onto their back with ease. “Really? That’s all you’ve got? My seven-year-old daughter fights harder than you!”

Another enemy charged, and Taehyung gracefully sidestepped before delivering a sharp kick to their gut. They crumpled to the ground, groaning.

“Pathetic,” he sighed. “What kind of third-rate villain monologue was that earlier? ‘I know who you are, Jungkook’? Please, at least come up with something original.”

Jungkook, meanwhile, was utterly ruthless. His wolf was barely restrained as he tore through Jisung’s warriors, making it clear that no one touched what was his.

Jisung, blood dripping from his mouth, forced himself to stand. “Y-You think this is over?!”

Jungkook tilted his head. “You’re still talking? Impressive.”

Jisung let out a feral growl, shifting into his wolf form. His large black wolf lunged forward, teeth bared—

Only for Jungkook to catch him mid-air by the throat.

The entire battlefield froze.

Jungkook’s grip tightened, his golden eyes glowing ominously. “You made one mistake, Jisung,” he said, voice eerily calm. “You touched what’s mine.”

Then, with a sickening crack, he snapped Jisung’s neck.

Silence.

The remaining members of Jisung’s pack scrambled back in horror. Without their Alpha, they were leaderless—defeated. Jungkook let Jisung’s body drop to the ground before turning to the rest of them, his aura flaring dangerously.

“Leave,” he ordered. “And tell the other packs what happens when they think they can challenge me.”

The survivors didn’t hesitate. They turned tail and ran, disappearing into the night.

The battle was over.

Taehyung dusted off his hands, sighing dramatically. “Well, that was fun.”

Jungkook turned to him, still glowing with residual rage. “You’re insane.”

Taehyung smirked, stepping closer. “And yet, you love me.”

Jungkook huffed, pulling him into a tight embrace. “Damn right, I do.”

The pack erupted into victorious cheers, but Jungkook barely paid attention. He held Taehyung close, inhaling his scent, grounding himself in the presence of his mate.

The threats weren’t over. His stepmother was still scheming. Enemies still lurked.

But for tonight, at least, they had won.

And anyone who dared to come for his family next…

Would burn.
