If your sensitive to topics such as bullying then don't read or move forward with caution.

She was just a kid, a eight year old when her whole world collapsed in front of her eyes. She had cute black pigtails that were fairly long, till her waist.  Her eyes were a soft yet vivid shade of purple.

Her name was Hescus.

She walked into her elementary school happily humming along to an upbeat tune. She walked to her classroom and sat in her assigned seat. The boy next to her gave sharp cold glances at her.

She smiled at him, hoping to clear up anything that may have happened between them. The boy scoffed and looked down at his desk. Hescus was a happy soul, too happy in fact and it was all taken away from her.

The short school day went by fast in Hescus's eyes and she skipped home humming the same tune as in the morning. "Hi honey I have something to tell you." Her mother had a sad face and her eyes were blood shot.

Hescus slipped her backpack off and sat on the couch facing her mother. Her mom took a deep breath and said softly. "you father....was in an accident."

"Oh no! An accident? Is Papa ok?" Hescus had a concerned look. "Papa's is fine but he is not coming back." A small tear fell. "Not coming back? Does papa not like us anymore?" She asked, feeling her eyes moisten.

"No, papa loves us very much." Her mother pulled her into a hug. "Then when is he coming back?" She asked. "Never, your Papa is dead." Her mother said it bluntly, getting it over with.

Hescus didn't move in her mother's embrace.

She didn't sleep that night.

She had walked to school with a bleak face and showed no emotion during class so much so her teacher came up and asked "are you ok?" Hescus forced a small smile and nodded.

She walked back home, dragging her backpack behind her. "Honey I have some news." Her mother called from the kitchen, she had a habit to cook vigorously when she was sad.

Hescus put on her best face and went to the kitchen. "We are going to move away." Her mother continued stirring and refused to meet her eye. Hescus didn't care, she didn't have any friends here anyway. "Ok mama." She obliged.

*TEN YEARS LATER*

She was shoved roughly into the high school lockers the third time today, her shoulder and ribs were on fire. She fell to the ground. "Stay down there." The boy looked down at her with a smirk.

She wanted to punch the teeth out of him. The gang left leaving her on the ground. She gathered her papers and binder. It didn't help she had every class with him

It was second to last period, and she just wanted to survive to get home. Everyday she wished that she could get through the day without the bullying, it hasn't come true.

She sat at her desk and stared glumly at the board, she already knew this. "I thought I told you to stay down." A voice hissed in her ear. Hescus jumped and accidentally slapped him across the face.

Man it felt good to hit him but she was afraid of what he would do. "Did you just slap me? Oh your in for it now bitch." The man's eye twitched and he sat down like nothing happened.

The class ended quickly. Hescus gulped as she exited the classroom, she was in his territory now. She went to her locker as fast as she could while trying to hide herself from them.

She grabbed her binder from her locker and sighed in relief, she thought she was safe. She shut the locker and

turned around and she was face to face with her bully, who she didn't know.

His dark hair fell in front of his face and his stone cold eyes were intimidating. His dog tag jiggled as he cracked his knuckles. "Grab her and bring her out back." He turned.

She felt large hands bite into her shoulder. She cried in pain as they dug into her skin and dragged her out. She struggled as much as she could, she even scratched one across the face, it only made them angrier.

She was shoved into the brick wall and her shoulder cried in pain. The man grabbed her hair and forced her to kneel before him. Tears sprung to her eyes, her head was on fire.

"Please..." She whimpered out. "I'm just returning the favor." The man laughed. "You will always be the dirt beneath our feet, always waiting to be stepped on." He whispered into her ear.

"Give me the scissors." He ordered. A pair of scissors were handed to him. Hescus thought at first they would kill her, stab her in the neck.

He held the scissors to her silky black long hair. In a long neat cut her hair fell to the ground in front of her. She watched as her beautiful locks floated down.

Her hair was up to her shoulders now, ragged and ratty making her look like she had no home. She felt tears fall. The man let go of her and stood back, appreciating the view. "That's how you should look." He finally said and then left her.

She touched her fallen hair, it was still soft and silky. Then she touched the hair on her head, it was cropped and messed up. She wiped any trace of tears and walked back in school to finish her last class.

All eyes fell on her as she entered. They noticed her bruises and hair immediately. A random girl she didn't know came up to her and asked "are you ok?" Hescus held her binder tightly to her chest and nodded.

Before entering her class a boy said the same thing "are you ok?" Hescus nodded once again, not looking him in the eyes. She sat at her chair and she could hear the snickers and laughing coming from the man and his posse.

He left her be for the rest of class, at least he showed mercy. She didn't bother stopping at her locker to get anything and walked home instead of taking the bus.

She opened the door and was welcomed to her smiling mother. Her smile quickly disappeared and yelled "ARE YOU OK? WHAT HAPPENED?!" She cupped Hescus's face. She pushed her mother's hands away and said "I'm fine mama I just need some time alone." She walked up the stairs.

She sat on her bed and let the tears fall. Are you ok? She gasped at the ghostly voice and looked around. Nobody was there. Are you ok? It asked again. It was in her head. She was going crazy. That question drove her crazy she had been lying for the past eighteen years.

The voice repeated this phrase over and over. Hescus. Are you ok? Are you ok? ARE YOU OK? Ok? Ok? ARE YOU OK? Are you ok? She held her head between her hands, it felt like the world was crushing her.

Are you ok? Are you ok? ARE YOU OK? Ok? Ok? ARE YOU OK? Are you ok? Look over there. Are you ok? Are you ok? ARE YOU OK? Ok? Ok? ARE YOU OK? Are you ok? The pills. Are you ok? Are you ok? ARE YOU OK? Ok? Ok? ARE YOU OK? Are you ok? Are you ok? Are the answer. ARE YOU OK? Ok? Ok? ARE YOU OK? Are you ok? There is a better place you can go to. Are you ok? Are you ok? ARE YOU OK? Ok? Ok? ARE YOU OK? Are you ok? Do it. Are you ok? Are you ok? ARE YOU OK? Ok? Ok? ARE YOU OK? Are you ok? Die.

Her head exploded and she screamed "NO IM NOT OK!" The last thing she saw was herself reaching the bottle of pills. Darkness enveloped her, comforting her.

She squinted at the bright lights. "Mom?" She called. Her mother wasn't there. She had an I.V drip in and was hooked up to a heart monitor. The doctor walked in. "Your mother went to get you some food, don't panic." He said calmly.

"She left you some clothes." He pointed at the pile of clothes on the chair. He took her vitals before leaving. Her stomach felt empty yet it churned, she must have gotten stomach pumped.

What happened? She thought. She saw the clipboard at the foot of her bed, that said her situation. She looked around before grabbing and reading it.

Name- Hescus

Age- 18

Status- stable

Cause- attempted suicide, O.D'ed

She asleep for a day? She continued reading.

treatment plan- therapy and anti depressent pills.

BEEP BEEP BEEP. An alarm blared and flashed red lights. She placed the clipboard back and listened to the intercom. "Attention! Rogue patient! Please leave through the nearest exit. Please reach somewhere safe." The intercom cut off.

Rogue patient? Hescus ripped the needle out and changed into her clothes as fast as lightning. She looked down the hallway. Patients and doctors were frantically running away, running into each other, falling to the ground.

She saw the exit to the left and made a dash for it. She was almost out until she heard a voice. "HESCUS! HELP!" It was her mother.

"MAMA HURRY!" Hescus said desperately. She was almost there until the rogue patient tackled her to the ground. He had green blue skin, his eyes were bloodshot, and he was splattered with blood. He licked his lips at his prey.

In a flash he bit down into her mother's jugular and blood spewed out in a river. He licked the blood up. Her mother stared at her with lifeless eyes and before she faded she mouthed run.

The man looked at her in hunger and ran to her. Hescus screamed and went out the door, shutting it in his face, buying her precious moments. The man grunted and thought he could find easier food inside and left her.

She ran until her legs melted. She was in a forest. A peaceful forest. She collapsed and expected herself to cry but nothing came out.

She walked until darkness fell. She was walking blindly until she hit a solid metal wall, it looked like a wall. She felt her way to the entrance and pounded on the metal. "LET ME IN!" The doors hissed open.

"Welcome to ODV academy, recruit." A fairly old women said. She gasped and was breathing heavily. The place looked welcoming but she knew better.

"This academy is dedicated to training teens and young adults in order to kill people called the infected." The women explained. "You ran into one yes?" She asked. Hescus nodded, not being able to speak.

"He wasn't the first. He was the first from where you live though. It started way up north. He must have taken a trip up there and brought it back with him." The women squinted her eyes.

"Now your going to be trained to kill." The women smiled, her wrinkles showing.

For the first time she felt safe here. She didn't have to deal with the people out there, she could start new.

For the first time she was ok.

I'm sorry if this depressed you.
