Esther suppressed her disgust and softly asked, “I’m feeling a bit unwell now. Can I go back to the hospital now?”

Chadwick playfully lifted Esther’s chin and mockingly smiled at Bradley. “Are you feeling unwell because of me or Bradley?” he asked.

Jasper stepped up to explain for Esther. “Mr. Pendleton, Esther just underwent liver transplant surgery…”

Chadwick glanced indifferently at Jasper, his voice turning icy. “I’m asking Esther, not you!”

Upon hearing Jasper mention Esther’s liver transplant surgery, Bradley raised an eyebrow and quietly asked, “What liver transplant surgery?”

Chadwick’s tone grew harsh. “If she hadn’t secretly undergone a liver transplant, she would already be Mrs. Pendleton.”

He then sneered, “She went to great lengths to save you.”

Esther’s heart twinged painfully, like a needle pricking it.

Bradley snorted. “Pendleton, if you don’t watch her closely, she might get too close to other men.”

“Bradley Warner!” Esther’s eyes flashed with anger. “How can you insult me like this?!”

Bradley glanced at Jasper and casually remarked, “Hasn’t your confidant always been with you?”

Chadwick chuckled, sending shivers down spines.

Jasper frowned, puzzled by Bradley’s behavior.

“Jasper, right? I’ll save a spot for you as a groomsman. You can watch the woman you like marry me!”

Chadwick said.

Although Jordyn didn’t understand these men’s strange tastes, she didn’t want Jasper to be singled out because of Esther. She boldly held Jasper’s hand and smiled at Chadwick. “Mr. Pendleton, would you mind reserving a spot for me as a bridesmaid? I don’t want my boyfriend getting too close to other women.”

Bradley coldly taunted as Jordyn spoke, “Esther, your guardian angel is too busy guarding other women!”

“When did you two get together?” Chadwick asked, furrowing his brow.

Jordyn didn’t hide anything and openly said, “I pursued Jasper. I’ve liked him for a while because he’s so devoted. When Ms. Quill had surgery at our hospital, I took the chance. You and Ms. Quill played a part in it, don’t you think?”

Jasper remained silent, so Esther assumed it was true and genuinely wished them happiness.

“Congratulations to both of you.”

Bradley and Chadwick snickered, seemingly mocking Esther’s sincerity.

“Esther, I promised to be your best friend forever.” Jasper held Jordyn’s hand, a silent confirmation of her words. “You don’t have to feel burdened now. I’ll always be there for you as a friend.”

Jordyn leaned against Jasper’s shoulder and playfully said, “Esther, I’ll be your friend too.”

Esther smiled and congratulated her. “Jasper’s a really good man-”

Bradley interrupted Esther, sounding indifferent, “Pendleton, you once offered me Mandy’s hand in marriage. Is that offer still valid?”
