âMr. Pendletonâs⦠reallyâ¦â
Kevin didnât think Chadwick was anything special. He relied on his wealthy fatherâs influence in Capitus. However, they didnât dare to cross him due to his fatherâs power.
âLetâs start with the compatibility test,â Kevin agreed.
Esther was solely focused on Bradley, unaware when Kevin and Jasper left. She quietly watched him in his fragile state, wishing he could regain his former confidence and strength.
It was heartbreaking for her to see him so weak, and tears streamed down her face, falling onto Bradleyâs hand. It felt as if her tears were searing sparks onto his skin, causing his heart to flutter.
Because of Bradleyâs illness, Esther couldnât look after Felix either. She had to entrust him to Clark, who was considerate enough not to burden her.
Understanding the situation, Felix obediently went with Clark.
Doctors and nurses checked on Bradley multiple times, but he remained unconscious. The doctor explained that Bradley experienced excruciating pain when awake, so they administered a mild sedative through his IV drip to alleviate it.

Hearing Jasper speak so sincerely, Kevin raised an eyebrow. âNo matter what Bradley did in the past, Esther will only remember his good qualities now. Jasper, Iâve misunderstood you in many ways, but now I see youâre a good person-â
Jasper interrupted Kevinâs words, teasing, âLetâs not become friends. Iâm not into men.â
Kevin glared at Jasper, exclaiming in frustration, âIâm straight! Completely straight! Alright?â
Jasper suddenly laughed, and Kevin asked irritably, âWhatâs so funny?â
âNothing,â Jasper said, changing the subject and looking at Kevin seriously. âIf we canât find a suitable liver, what do you think will happen to Bradley?â
Kevin became cautious. âJasper, youâre not considering anything illegal, are you?â
âYou donât think Iâm foolish enough to harm Bradley, do you?â Jasperâs icy expression sent a shiver down Kevinâs spine. âA living person can never compete with a dead one. I wonât do something that foolish. Anyway, you can go do something else. Iâll grab some food for Esther.â
âPlease get something for me too.â
Jasper waved his hand dismissively and walked toward the stairs, but a doctor in a white coat quietly blocked his pathâ¦
