Esther might not know all the details about the feud between the Quills and the Pendletons, but there was no way she’d ever marry someone as vile as Chadwick.

“Pendleton, quit daydreaming! I’ll never be your wife!”

Chadwick casually poured himself another cup of tea and drank it slowly. His eyes gleamed with a strong desire for dominance.

“Esther, don’t rush to reject me! What if…”

Esther left the RV without a word, ignoring the man in black who did not attempt to stop her.

Kevin anxiously asked, “Esther, what did Mr. Pendleton say to you?”

“He asked me to marry him.”

Kevin cursed in frustration, “Is he f*cking out of his mind?”

“Who knows?”

Esther glanced coldly at Chadwick’s repulsive face and left swiftly.

Chadwick picked up the teacup Esther had used moments ago, toying with it. Bradley had rendered one of his hands useless, Chadwick had no intention of letting Bradley off easily.

“Inform our people inside to take good care of Bradley Warner.”

The man in black replied, “Yes, sir.”

“Wait.”

Chadwick’s eyes burned with hatred. Revenge might have no expiration date, but he couldn’t wait any longer. He wanted Bradley to pay the price now!

“Tell them to cut off one of Bradley’s hands and send me a photo.”

“Understood.”

Chadwick glanced at Esther’s retreating figure with a sinister smirk. He hoped that she would still calmly refuse his proposal even after seeing Bradley’s severed hand.

“Have someone follow Esther.”

The man in black replied, “Sure.”

Chadwick leaned back in the leather seat and thought about how Esther had called him an animal and said he would never know what it felt like to love someone. It didn’t matter. She would soon be marrying this animal, and he would ensure that Esther and Bradley knew the consequences of offending him.

Kevin took Esther to the hospital and reminded her to take good care of her health, “Esther, focus on recovering, and let the lawyer handle Bradley’s case.”

Esther looked at Kovin and urged, “Please don’t tell him about Mr. Pendleton asking to see me.”

“I understand.”

Esther entered the hospital room.

Felix rushed into her arms like a little cannonball and asked, “Mommy, where did you go? Aunt Sadie and I thought bad people kidnapped you!”

“I went to the supermarket to buy some things.”

Sadie called out, “Felix.”

Felix looked up from Esther’s embrace to ask cutely, “What is it, Aunt Sadie?”
