Kevin was startled by that absurd thought. Could Bradley, a man like him, really fall in love with Esther?
Did he even understand the concept of love?
âLetâs go. Iâll give you a ride home,â Kevin offered, extending his hand to help Bradley.
He didnât want to get involved but didnât have much of a choice. After all, Bradley had saved his life.
Bradley brushed off Kevinâs hand and slowly got up. He glanced at Felixâs hospital room before heading out of the garden with heavy steps.
âBradley, where are you going?â
As Kevin was about to open the car door, Bradley suddenly grabbed him by the collar from behind and forcefully pushed him into the car.
Bradley drove recklessly, causing Kevin to grip the armrest tightly, fear written across his face. âBradley, please donât think about dying!
âBradley, slow down! I want to live a few more years!â
Eventually, Bradley parked before a club and walked inside without saying a word. The moment Kevin stepped out of the car, his legs felt weak. He only managed to stay on his feet by gripping the door tightly.
âThis is madness! All of this over a divorce? Is it really worth it?â Kevin wondered.
Only when Kevin found himself seated in a luxurious private room did he start to feel a bit safer, as if he had narrowly escaped danger.
âBradley, letâs drink. Weâre not leaving until weâre both drunk.â
Silently, Bradley poured himself a glass of liquor. He held the glass and downed it in one swift. gulp.
The harsh taste shocked Bradleyâs senses, and Kevin quickly refilled his glass. After three shots, Bradley finally turned to Kevin with a determined look in his eyes. âLetâs call Jasper!â
Kevin blinked, surprised. âMe? Iâm calling him?â
Bradley gave Kevin an indifferent look, and Kevin reluctantly called Jasper.
âJasper, itâs Kevin. Iâm at the club having a drink. Want to join me?â
Jasper glanced at Esther and Felix, who were busy packing, and calmly replied, âIâm busy right now.â
Kevin expected this response and tried to ease the situation. âAlright, maybe some other time Before Kevin could finish, Bradley grabbed the phone. Images of Jasper and Esther in the rose garden flooded Bradleyâs mind uncontrollably. âJasper, you can either come over now, or Iâll go to the hospital and talk to Esther.â
Jasper held his phone tightly, walked to the balcony, and answered in a low, firm voice, âIâm really occupied now. But Iâll come to you within an hour if youâre willing to wait.â
âYouâre with Esther?â Bradley scoffed. âSearle, does my woman have such an irresistible attraction for you?â
