âKevin, this doesnât concern you,â Bradley replied, his tone icy and lips barely parting. âIf youâre here to taunt me, please leave.â
Kevin grabbed his phone, opened a photo, and placed it in front of Bradley. âNow that Esther has found happiness, canât we be men and genuinely wish her well?â
Bradleyâs grip tightened on his coffee cup, causing coffee to spill from it and splatter onto the ground.
âWish her well? Does she even deserve it?â
âBradley, why the patronizing attitude? Why wouldnât Esther deserve your good wishes?â Kevinâs voice rose in response to Bradleyâs words. âYou condemned her to five years in prison based on fake evidence, only to now realize the falsehood of the proof you provided back then!
Bradleyâs icy gaze settled on Kevinâs enraged face. âKevin, who told you Esther is innocent? That the previous video was fake? That the one she presented is authentic?â
Kevinâs laughter echoed. His voice seethed with fury as he replied, âSo, youâre suggesting it doesnât matter whether Esther did it or not? It only matters as long as you believe she did? Whatâs going through your mind? Why do you persist in labeling your sonâs mother a murderer? What good does it do you?â
âKevin, shut up.â Bradleyâs expression oozed arrogance.
She Kevin shot back, âWhy should I? Bradley, itâs you who owes Esther, not the other way around! gave birth to Felix and twin daughters for you. Donât you think you owe her? She loved you wholeheartedly, and all she got were scars and pain.
âIf you had any conscience, you wouldnât keep oppressing her with your stubbornness and domineering attitude. She isnât your enemy, nor is she your possession. Sheâs her own person.
Kevinâs words felt like a dagger, piercing Bradleyâs heart. âGet lost!â
âBradley, look at yourself! What are you achieving here? Threatening Esther? Have you even considered Felixâs feelings? Do you want him to bear this burden at such a young age? Arenât you worried about him being traumatized?â
The sky grew darker, and street lights flickered to life, casting their glow over the city. Bradley found himself bathed in their melancholic brilliance.
Kevin took a deep breath, speaking earnestly. âBradley, if you no longer love Esther, why not. set her free? It could be your liberation, too.â
âLove?â Bradleyâs eyes showed confusion.
Noticing Bradleyâs vulnerable expression, Kevin asked, âBradley, have you realized youâve fallen in love with Esther?â
âKevin, are you serious?â Bradley retorted. âEven if all women vanished, Iâd never love Esther!
In frustration, Kevin ran his hand through his hair, saying casually, âWell, there you have it.
No love between you two. You can return to being strangers.â
âKevin, I wonât let my son call another man Daddy.â
Kevin was at a loss for words. âIf Esther remarries, wouldnât it be normal for Felix to call someone else Daddy?â
âThen she better not remarry!â Bradleyâs voice turned venomous, like a demon, as he spat, Iâll stop anyone who dares to be my sonâs father!â
Kevin stared at Bradley in astonishment. âBradley, are you okay? If Esther divorces you, she can remarry many times, and it wonât be your concern. Do you think marrying her once makes her your exclusive property?â
Kevin studied Bradleyâs frosty expression seriously, wondering, âIs Bradleyâs strong reaction because heâs fallen for Esther?â
Impossible!
