The servants rushed into the dressing room, removing their uniforms without a second thought.
Some watched with envy. They had all come to work, but who would willingly serve this cold and irritable man every day?
They all wanted to leave, enticed by the promise of substantial compensation.
Most of the staff had already left except for a few servants who struggled to let go of the generous treatment they received at Warner Manor and had no other options.
Bradley sat beneath a dazzling crystal chandelier, captivated by pictures of Esther and Jasper, his eyes revealing a deep longing. Esther looked stunning in every photo, her jet-black hair flowing gently, her lively eyes sparkling like a galaxy of stars.
Bradleyâs anger flared when he saw the nine roses of different colors in Estherâs hands, making it hard to breathe.
Suddenly, Bradley stood up and drove to the hospital where Felix was.
Soon, he headed and stood in the garden below, staring at the âEsther Quill, come out!â he shouted with all his might.
upper ward.
Everyone in the hospital watched him from their windows as if he were a trapped animal.
Esther caught wind of Bradleyâs cry and frowned. She picked up her phone and searched for Kevinâs number.
âKevin, itâs me. Bradley is in the hospital garden. Please take him away before he gets even more upset!â
Esther looked down at Bradley in the garden below. A delicate, lingering ache filled her heart. âMommy, is Daddy angry?â Felix climbed down from the hospital bed, his chubby face filled. with concern.
âNo,â Esther replied, bitterness in her voice. She hugged Felix and kissed his forehead. âHeâs just struggling to adapt.â
Felix tilted his head, innocence in his eyes. âAdapt to what?â
âTo the kite in his hands suddenly breaking free and soaring into a wider sky.â
âBut Mommy, kites belong in the sky, right?â
âYes!â Esther lovingly brushed her forehead against Felixâs, her eyes filled with affection.â Kites belong in the sky, and Felix belongs with Mommy!â
Felix gently held Estherâs face and softly said, âMommy, I will always be your most cherished son!â
Esther then played games with Felix to ease the impact of Bradleyâs earlier outburst.
Bradley gradually regained his composure as the cold wind swept by. His intense gaze remained fixed on Felixâs room window. Despite not being able to see Esther and Felix, he stubbornly refused to leave.
In response to Estherâs call, Kevin quickly arrived, rushed over, and noticed Bradley, who looked like a statue longing for his wife.
Kevin offered Bradley a cup of coffee he had bought and extended it to him. âBradley, would you like some coffee to help calm your nerves?â
Bradley glanced at Kevin with a distant expression. Kevin was dressed casually and seemed tired.
Bradley sneered and said, âAre you here to watch a spectacle?â
âBrad, Esther asked me to come and take you with me,â Kevin said as he sat beside Bradley, sipping his black coffee.
With a slightly irritated tone, he continued. âIâve been in surgery for 14 straight hours today.â Iâm exhausted and sleep-deprived. Iâll only ask you this. Why are you sitting here? Do you want to win Esther back? Or canât you bear to leave Felix?â
