Bradley stood by the elevator entrance, fixating his gaze on the firmly sealed doors. An aura of isolation enveloped him. His fists clenched, and he stood unmoving for an extended period, resembling a lifeless stone statue.
After a moment, a sinister smirk crept onto his face. He wiped away a trickle of blood from his mouth with the back of his hand.
âVery well, Esther, very well. Letâs see how long the Quills can shield you. And divorce? Not a chance,â
he thought.
As the elevator doors closed, Estherâs tense nerves eased slightly.
The bodyguards apologized for their inability to react faster.
âMs. Quill, weâre sorry for not acting more swiftly.â
Esther brushed her hair aside and raised an indifferent eyebrow. âItâs not your fault. No one could predict a sudden threat.â
Her rationality intensified their regret. They were hired to safeguard Esther from Bradleyâs aggression.
The idea that the charming Bradley possessed such a sinister side shocked them.
After leaving the Warner Group, Esther moved to Primus Mansion, a home designated for her and Bradley. It was registered solely under her name, a premarital asset.
Inside the residential area, Esther informed security to deny Bradley entry. Upstairs, she swiftly changed the lockâs code.
Hearing the commotion, Melinda hurried over and teared up at the sight of Esther. âY-Youâre back?â
Esther responded calmly, âSomeoneâs coming for lunch. Melinda, please prepare lunch.â
âAlright.â
She then calmly and gently told the bodyguards, âFeel free to have a seat.
Esther entered the bedroom, discarded her attire, and proceeded to the bathroom. Half an hour later, she was done cleaning up. She applied a face mask and walked out of the bathroom. in a bathrobe, casually picking up her phone. She sent a message to Tanya, informing her that she intended to submit new evidence in their divorce case.
Tanya: [What evidence?]
Estherâs response was curt: [Itâs confidential.]
With ample proof that the video used against her in court years ago was fabricated, she intended to reveal the truth publicly. Carrying the weight of that accusation for five years was enough.
She wouldnât bear that stain for life, especially for her childrenâs sake.
Tanya reminded her gently: [Iâm your lawyer.)
