It was quite normal for someone like Jasper to have several phones. As he inserted the SIM card into one of them, the phone suddenly started ringing.
âHello, whoâs this?â Jasper answered.
Relieved to hear Jasperâs voice, Oliver went straight to the point. âHello, Iâm Oliver Quill. Iâd like to talk to you about Esther Quill.â
Jasper inquired, âWhatâs your relationship with Esther?â
âI believe she is my older sisterâs daughter,â Oliver replied with a hint of regret. If he hadnât lost track of Esther previously, perhaps the tragedy surrounding her wouldnât have occurred. âMr. Quill, Iâm not in the mood to discuss Estherâs matters with you at the moment. However, I can arrange for Estherâs adoptive father to speak with you about the circumstances of her adoption.â
âThank you, Mr. Searle,â Oliver expressed his gratitude.
Not in a rush to meet Jasper, Oliver made an appointment to meet Billy at a hotel.
After ending the call with Oliver, Jasper raised an eyebrow and asked coldly, âKevin, arenât you going to inform Bradley about my side of the story?â
âJasper, youâ¦â Kevin pleaded weakly, âJust tell me if sheâs alive orâ¦â
âKevin, are you blind? Didnât you see her jump before me?â Jasper didnât directly answer Kevinâs question but glared at him menacingly. âIf you had an ounce of conscience, you should be mourning for Esther right now. You were ordered by Bradley to follow me, thinking that Esther and I conspired for a staged performance, correct?â
Kevin looked embarrassed as he sat weakly on the sofa, helplessly saying, âI truly had no idea that Bradley would push Esther to such an extent.â
âYou had no idea? Kevin, can a simple âI had no ideaâ erase the guilt in your conscience?â Jasper sneered mockingly. âA normal person would consider that Felix is not only Bradleyâs son but also Estherâs. She lost two children in less than half a year. Who are you to think she could withstand Bradleyâs confinement?
âHave you ever seen her as a real person? Do you think sheâs not human? Esther repeatedly told you she had nothing to do with Mr. Thomasâ accident. Why donât you believe her?
âNow that she has fulfilled your wish and paid for it with her life, what are you doing here pretending to be sentimental? Itâs truly sickening!â
Jasperâs words rendered Kevin speechless.
âGet out! Stop being a nuisance!â Jasper glared at Kevin, utterly disappointed, and disdainfully grabbed his arm to chase him out. âLeave! Both you and Warner, never show your faces in front of me again.â
Kevin stood motionless, crying with his hands covering his face.
Meanwhile, Oliver met Billy in the presidential suite of a hotel.
âHello.â
Billy was astonished when he received Oliverâs call. Although Billy was a moderately successful businessman, the difference between him and someone like Oliver, from a noble family, was like night and day.
In Billyâs mind, Oliver was the kind of tycoon who could bankrupt someone with a snap of his fingers.
âMr. Anstey, please have a seat,â Oliver gracefully invited. He poured Billy a cup of tea. âDo you know a woman named Faye Quill?â
The name caught Billy off guard, and he asked in astonishment, âAre you related to Faye?â
âI am her younger brother, Oliver Quill.â
Billy was dumbfounded. He never expected Faye to be the heiress of a prestigious and wealthy family in Capitus! Did that mean Esther was originally meant to be the heiress of the Quill family in Capitus too?
