It seemed to everyone that Bradley had gone mad, forcing Esther to get pregnant at this time without considering her feelings.
Clark calmly looked at Billy and Jasper before speaking softly, âMr. Warner is currently unable to accept the situation. Give him some more time, and I believe he will eventually move on from the pain of losing his son.â
âBut donât Bradley and Esther already have another daughter named Pixie? Wasnât she adopted by someone else? Instead of doing everything possible to find Pixie, Bradley wants to have a child with Esther now? He canât be ignorant enough to want another Felix, can he?â
Clark remained silent, and Jasper didnât know what to say either. He took a sip of his coffee and spoke slowly. âClark, please pass on a message to Esther. Tell her that weâre deeply concerned about her and ask her to take good care of herself. Let her know that I will continue to help her find Pixie and that she must prioritize her well-being.â
Clark agreed, saying, âOkay.â
Billy wanted to speak but couldnât find the right words. From his perspective, he sincerely hoped that Bradley would show mercy and spare Esther.
âYou donât need to worry. Iâll be there with Esther, and she shouldnât be in immediate danger for now.â
After Clark left, Billy muttered, âIs there really no other way to handle Bradleyâs outrageous behavior?â
âPossible solutions are being considered. The fact that Bradley wants to have a child with Esther indicates that her personal safety is at least ensured during this period. As for other matters, we can take our time.â
Billy pleaded earnestly, âMr. Searle, please help Esther.â
Jasper casually asked Billy, seemingly disinterested, âI heard that Esther isnât your biological daughter.â
Billy didnât hide Estherâs background and explained calmly, âEsther is indeed my adopted daughter.
Thatâs why I neglected her in the past, assuming Liliane was my biological daughter. Only later did I find out that she isnât. Mr. Searle, you have no idea what a joke my life has become.â
A faint hint of surprise appeared on Jasperâs handsome face.
Billy continued. âMr. Searle, do you happen to know any reliable lawyers? Could you recommend one to me?â
âAre you planning to help Esther against Bradley in a divorce lawsuit?â
Billy felt extremely embarrassed but explained helplessly, âNo, itâs just that I want to reclaim everything that rightfully belongs to me. I thought Liliane was my daughter, so I transferred my assets to her as a wedding gift. Now that she isnât my daughter, I see no reason to give away everything I have.â
âI see.â Jasper pondered for a moment. âAlright, Iâll introduce you to a suitable lawyer. But Iâm curious about Estherâs background.â
âIâm not entirely sure.â Billy speculated, âI thought Estherâs parents didnât have any other trustworthy relatives. If there were, Faye wouldnât have entrusted Esther to me.â
âIt makes sense.â Jasper sympathetically sighed. âEsther has carried the stigma of being a love child all these years, even though she clearly isnât your daughter. Perhaps you should publicly announce Estherâs true identity to let the world know that she is an innocent and legitimate daughter, not a love child?â
itâs Billy blushed, feeling ashamed of the foolish things he had done over the years. âYes, yes, all my fault. I shouldnât have stubbornly labeled Esther as illegitimate. Instead, I should have treated her directly as my adopted daughter.â
He had been swinging like a pendulum all these years, burdening Esther with things she shouldnât have carried.
Jasper asked again, âLilianeâs current health condition isnât good. If you forcibly reclaim these assets, she might not be able to accept it and could die in despair. Can you really be that heartless?â
