Billy, played by Leah, witnessed her unrestrained animosity toward him, revealing her malicious intentions without restraint.
âYouâre truly laughable. Did you actually think that the deaths of those two old folks were mere accidents all this time?â
Billy never imagined Leah could be so vile. Ignoring his own image, he angrily raised his hand and slapped Leah across the face.
âLeah Walpole, do you even possess a shred of humanity? Hadnât my parents been treating you well since we got married, despite their opposing opinions before our marriage? If only you had an ounce of conscienceâ¦â
Leah stuck out her tongue and licked the blood at the corner of her mouth. She viciously retorted, âIf they truly treated me well, would they have secretly conducted a DNA paternity. test behind my back?
âThey even said that if I agreed to give birth to a second child for you, they wouldnât pursue the matter regarding Liliane. They even claimed that the Anstey Group would belong to my son if we had a second child. Tell me, why should I bear a second child with you? Are you even worthy?â
Billy never considered the extent of his parentsâ actions behind his back. Suddenly, he felt like an inadequate son-a completely unfilial child. His parents would still be alive and well if it werenât for his foolishness and falling into Leahâs clutches.
âLeah, Iâm unworthy? Would you have chosen me if I were unworthy?â Billy trembled with rage. He pointed a finger at her face and fiercely questioned, âHave I disrespected your ancestors? Is that why you treat me this way?â
Leah looked at Billy, consumed by remorse, with a mocking smile and taunted, âAnstey, your parents were quite entertaining. Why would I need a second child if I wanted the Anstey Group? Once I got rid of them and then you, Iâd become the companyâs true owner whenever I pleased.â
Regrettably⦠Leah thought with great pity. If only she had killed Billy sooner⦠She shouldnât have thought that Liliane would face ridicule without a father.
âHehâ¦â Billy couldnât be bothered to say another word to Leah. An abominable woman like her didnât deserve his attention.
âYou⦠Good luck.â
Billy sought a lawyer to handle the shares of the Anstey Group and hired a private detective to investigate his parentsâ cause of death. He needed enough evidence to ensure that Leah would spend the rest of her life in prison.
Billy realized that he had been ruthlessly deceived by Leah and Liliane all these years. He even reflected on how he had repeatedly hurt and neglected Esther for the sake of Liliane, believing the latter to be his biological daughter while seeing Esther as just an adopted child.
Billy now understood how terribly wrong he had been. Filled with revenge in his heart, he headed straight to the hospital after his rage toward Leah.
Scott, the skilled cardiac surgeon, had once again saved Liliane from the clutches of death as her condition worsened.
Liliane lay in the hospital bed, clearly feeling the discomfort in her body. Overwhelmed by grief, she held her chest and thought, âWhat should I do? Will I really die if there isnât a suitable heart for transplantation?â
No! She didnât want to die!
She wanted to live.
Who would save her? Who would come to her rescue?
