The night view was enchanting, adorned with effervescent neon lights, a unique sight that Ben beheld from inside the helicopter. The countless sparkling lights of households resembled scattered stars on Earth, casting a dazzling and radiant glow.
Unaware of the peril that lay ahead, Ben curiously admired the beauty outside the helicopterâs cabin window. Eventually, the helicopter descended and landed on a ship amidst the vast sea.
The ocean within a 50-mile radius, centered around the ship, was brightly illuminated, creating an awe-
inspiring spectacle. The rescue team members tirelessly searched for Felix, diving time after time, and embarked on search dives without giving up.
Esther and her group disembarked from the helicopter, and the sea breeze tousled Estherâs hair while her cotton nightgown billowed like a raised sail.
Observing the rescue personnel with air tanks scouring the seaâs surface, Ben couldnât help but ask, âWhat are they searching for?â
With sorrow welling up in her eyes, Esther sobbed. âThey are searching for my son.â
Startled, Ben inquired, âYour son?â
Esther reached for her phoneâs photo album and tearfully showed him a picture of Felix. She explained, âThis is my son. He fell into the sea and is now missing.â
Observing Felixâs photo on Estherâs phone screen, Ben asked dryly, âHow did such a young child end up in the sea? Did your enemies seek revenge against you?â
Ben couldnât fathom how someone could target such a young child-it was truly despicable!
Bradley snapped his fingers, and finally, the two kidnappers, who had been immersed in the seawater for a long time, were pulled up. Their skin had turned pale and wrinkled from the prolonged exposure to the sea.
âMr. Warner, please, I was wrongâ¦â
âMr. Warner, thereâs a reason behind all this. We were only following Shane Hoyerâs ordersâ¦â
Upon hearing the kidnappersâ words, Benâs face darkened, and he questioned, âWhat nonsense are you spouting? My father would never do such things!â
âYour father?â The kidnappers looked at the boy, shivering from the cold sea breeze. Their faces and lips had turned blue and purple. âYour father is Shane Hoyer?â
âYes, my father is Shane Hoyer,â Ben replied indignantly. âHe is an honest and kind man. He would never instruct you to do something immoral!â
âHoyer Jr., you are truly ignorant and fearless due to your fatherâs protection!â The kidnappers sat slumped on the deck, attempting to expose Shaneâs crimes. They hoped to avoid being thrown back into the sea.
It was a fate worse than death.
âYour father is the most wicked man in this world! Do you know what your father asked us to do? Your father ordered us to kidnap Esther Quill. Do you know why? Itâs because he wants her heart!â
âThatâs impossible!â Ben vehemently refused to believe it, and his expression filled with righteousness.
âMy father is the director of a prison hospital. Why would he need someone elseâs heart?â
âYour father wants to give my heart to his daughter.â Esther spoke slowly, her frail figure evoking pity in the sea breeze.
âThatâs even more impossible! My father only has one son, and thatâs me!â Ben couldnât fathom that his remarkable father would commit such evil acts. âAre you sure you havenât mistaken the identity of your enemy? Could it be that your enemy shares the same name as my father?â
