âShane, whatâs wrong?â Jessica asked, confused.
Shane released his grip on her arm and was about to approach Bradley, but he froze as he witnessed Bradley putting his arm around Benâs shoulder and speaking coldly. âMr. Hoyer, I have a matter to discuss with your son. It may cause a slight delay, but rest assured. I will arrange a private jet to take you on your way later.â
Panic spread across Shaneâs face, and he desperately wanted to shout, âBradley, donât do anything reckless! Come after me if you must! But donât you dare harm my son!â
But all that came out of his mouth were stammering words. âM-Mr. Warnerâ¦â
With his arm still around Benâs shoulder, Bradley forcefully led the boy toward his helicopter at the airport, leaving no room for refusal. Ben, captivated by the helicopter, innocently observed everything on board, unaware of the danger he was in.
Bradley introduced Ben to Esther, stating, âThis is my spouse.â
Polite and unsuspecting, Ben greeted Esther, âHello, Mrs. Warner.â
As Esther looked at the boyâs innocent face, she couldnât help but see Felixâs adorable visage in her mind. This was Shaneâs son. If it werenât for Shane⦠her Felix wouldnât have suffered.
An eye for an eye! This was Bradleyâs act of revenge.
But for Esther, revenge was the last thing she desired. All she wished for was Felixâs safe return.
The helicopter soared into the sky, and Shane collapsed to his knees, his legs giving way. Finally, his wife realized that something was terribly wrong.
âShane, what are you doing? Call the police!â Jessica grabbed her phone, ready to dial emergency services. Unaware of who Bradley truly was, she only knew that he had forcibly taken their son.
âNo⦠We canât involve the police.â Shane snatched the phone, adamantly preventing Jessica from making the call. He looked at her, determination in his eyes, and said through his gritted. teeth, âHoney, trust me. Even if it means risking my life, I will bring our son back!â
âShane, your enemies have come knocking at our door, and you still want to keep me in the dark?â
Jessicaâs anger flared, and she slapped Shane across the face.
Taking a deep breath, Shane urgently pleaded, âListen to me carefully. I know where theyâve gone, and Iâm going there now. No matter what happens, donât ask questions, and donât panic. If something happens to me, donât let our son live a life consumed by hatred. Once he returns. to you, take him abroad-far away-and never come back.â
Jessica sensed the seriousness in Shaneâs voice and the foreboding in his words. Nervously, she asked, âShane, what exactly has happened? Please explain clearly.â
âPay close attention. I opened a bank account in our sonâs name in a foreign bank. The password is the last six digits of his ID card,â Shane explained every detail, his voice filled with urgency. âI also have a safety deposit box in the same bank under your name. Inside, youâll find property deeds, stocks, and enough to sustain you abroad. Honey, thank you for giving me such a wonderful son.â
âIn my next life, I promise to be a good husband. I will never engage in any illegal or immoral activities again.â
After speaking, Shane pushed Jessica away and quickly drove off.
Jessica followed suit in her own car, disregarded traffic lights, and drove recklessly, matching Shaneâs desperate determination.
