âMadam!â
âMadam!â
âMadam, watch out!â
The female bodyguards rushed to Estherâs aid as she stumbled due to her weakened condition. But Bradleyâs quick reflexes allowed him to swiftly pull Esther back into his arms before they could intervene.
Esther was running a high fever. Even through their clothes, Bradley could feel the scorching heat emanating from her body, enveloping him entirely.
Gently, he carried Esther in his arms, her weight barely noticeable, and placed her on the bed. One of the courageous female bodyguards, concerned about Estherâs worsening condition, spoke up. âMr.
Warner, a high fever can be dangerous. I suggestâ
âLeave us!â Bradley snapped angrily.
Another bodyguard quickly pulled her companion away.
Bradley looked at Esther, who was barely conscious, and reached for his phone to call Kevin.
âKevin Slade, where are you?â
Kevin had just landed when Bradleyâs call came through. Unaware of Felixâs situation, he jokingly responded, âMr. Warner, do you have surveillance tracking me!?â
âCome to the manor immediately.â
Sensing the urgency in Bradleyâs voice, Kevin inquired with concern, âWhatâs going on? Is Felix unwell?
That shouldnât be the case. His surgery was successful, and his attending physician said heâs recovering excellently-â
âStop the chit-chat and get here!â Bradley abruptly ended the call.
Seeing Esther suffering from such a high fever, he swiftly removed her damp clothes and replaced them with a long-sleeved nightgown. Skillfully, he retrieved a cooling patch from the medical kit and applied it to Estherâs forehead.
After completing these actions, Bradley took a shower, changed into fresh clothes, and entered the bedroom, his wet hair shaking slightly.
Estherâs phone continued buzzing on the bedside table. He coldly glanced at the caller ID on the screen and forcefully turned it off, furrowing his brows.
As soon as Estherâs phone was silenced, Bradleyâs phone began to ring.
âBradley, I heard that Esther and Felix were kidnapped? How are they now?â Jasperâs concerned and worried voice came through the receiver.
âJasper, itâs none of your business to worry about someone elseâs wife and child.â
Jasper was momentarily taken aback but remained composed. He casually replied, âIf Mr. Warner says so, then I can rest assured. I was just concerned about Esther and Felix-â
Bradley hung up the phone coldly, not needing Jasperâs feigned concern.
Half an hour later, Kevin hurriedly arrived at the Warner residence.
He learned about the situation during his journey, including Bradleyâs public refusal to get married, Estherâs kidnapping, and Felixâs disappearance.
Kevin could hardly believe how much had unfolded in Bradleyâs life in just one day. He also understood that Bradley continued to stand strong because he dared not fall and couldnât afford to.
âBradley?â
Bradley looked at Kevin indifferently and said in a cold tone, âTake a look at her.
