âHave you told Daddy?â Esther asked, her heart still holding onto a glimmer of hope.
Felix nodded solemnly and replied, âI did.â
A bitter taste filled Estherâs heart. So, even though Bradley knew Felix was her son, he still chose to proceed with his wedding to Liliane today?
Resentment pierced Estherâs heart like countless sharp blades. She had thought that feigning selective amnesia would perfectly end her secret love of ten years.
Little did she know⦠it was all just wishful thinking.
Bradley wouldnât soften his heart just because she was the birth mother of Tinkerbell, Pixie, and Felix!
He wouldnât erase everything that had happened in the past simply because they had children together.
Knowing this was a risky gamble, Esther still decided to take the chance.
Finally, she understood that Bradleyâs heart didnât belong to her or their children.
âMommy, please donât cry.â Felix reached out to wipe away Estherâs tears.
Esther tightly embraced him, unable to hold back her own sobs.
âMommy, itâs okay, itâs okay,â Felix reassured her, gently patting her back.
Esther regained her composure and held Felixâs hand, silently speaking to Tinkerbell in her heart.
âTinkerbell, Mommy brought your little brother to visit. Do you remember him? You met before at Sunflower Welfare. Iâm sorry for only coming to see you now. Please forgive Mommy. Tinkerbell, I wonât give up on finding Pixie. Next time, Iâll bring Pixie and Felix to visit you together.â
Esther reached out and tenderly touched the wooden plaque hanging on the apple tree. Taking a deep breath, she led Felix to Fayeâs grave. âFelix, come here. Letâs greet your grandmother.â
Following Estherâs lead, Felix placed the flowers they had brought in front of Fayeâs tombstone.
âGrandma, hello. Iâm your grandson, Felix. My Mommy is your daughter, Esther.â
Esther gently stroked Felixâs hair and whispered, âMom, itâs me, Esther. This is my son, Felix. Look, doesnât he resemble me when I was young? Mom, Iâm going to take Felix abroad to find Pixie. The next time I come back, Iâll bring Pixie with me to see you.â
Esther then said, âFelix, letâs go.â
Felix looked at Esther, sensing her somber mood, and sweetly said, âMommy, Iâm a little man. Iâll protect you!â
âYouâre the best, my son!â
As Esther and Felix left the cemetery, a handsome man in a trench coat walked past Esther, holding a bouquet of pure white horse-tail lotus flowers. He halted abruptly when he saw the fresh flowers placed in front of Fayeâs tombstone. Setting down his flowers, he hurriedly went to the cemetery office.
âWho placed the flowers at Faye Quillâs grave?â he asked, breathless.
The administrator, taken aback by the handsome manâs appearance, responded, âItâs her daughter!â
âWhat? Her daughter?â The man was shocked.
His elder sister had never been in a romantic relationship, let alone married. Where did this daughter suddenly come from?
âItâs her daughter!â The administrator pointed toward the Mercedes Benz that Esther had driven, offering a helpful reminder. âThe one inside that car, thatâs her daughter!â
The handsome man rushed out of the cemetery and into the parking lot. He opened the car door, got inside, and began chasing after Estherâs Mercedes Benz at lightning speed. Just as he was about to catch up, Estherâs car crossed the bridge toward the airport.
