Chapter 114

After a prolonged period, the hospital room remained engulfed in silence.

Clark’s phone rang, and he quietly left the ward after a glance at the device.

Felix sat obediently across from Bradley inside the room, both of them guarding the unconscious Esther on either side.

“Daddy, can I read Mommy a story?” asked Felix.

Bradley remained silent, so Felix took it as his consent. He picked up a storybook and narrated the story cutely and innocently.

However, Bradley’s gaze fell on the various nutritious breakfast dishes bathed in the morning light.

From what he remembered, Esther was a dainty young lady who did no chores. When did she start learning to make these delicious meals?

Although Bradley had not tasted them, he could feel the thoughtfulness put into them just by glancing at them. The balanced nutrition and color coordination were comparable to those of top restaurants.

His gaze shifted from the array of breakfast items back to the wound on Esther’s wrist. What had she experienced in the past five years? A doubt slowly arose in Bradley’s heart.

Felix’s tender and innocent voice was like the most beautiful music in the world as it echoed in the quiet hospital room. However, their serene and beautiful moment was shattered by the buzzing sound of a phone.

Bradley got up from his chair and went to the study to answer the call.

“Good morning, Brad!” Liliane was on the other end of the phone, full of energy.

Bradley subconsciously glanced at the unconscious Esther and asked indifferently, “Yes?”

“Brad, didn’t you say to arrange a time for you to meet with my parents? How about today at noon?”

Liliane’s voice was light and filled with excitement.

Bradley’s hand on the phone clenched involuntarily, and he pressed his lips together before saying, “You can arrange the time and place.”

“Let’s meet at Octagon’s Triton room during noon today?”

“That’s fine.”

Liliane did not want Felix to be present when they were discussing their marriage, so she softly suggested, “Since Felix just had surgery not long ago, why not let Clark take care of him for now?”

“Then we’ll arrange to meet after Felix can be discharged from the hospital,” Bradley said, CS CamScanner which displeased Liliane.

She suppressed her resentment and straightforwardly replied, “Then I’ll go to the hospital later to pick him up. Are you coming directly from the company?”

“No need, I’ll bring Felix myself,” Bradley said in a cold tone and hung up directly.

After ending the call with Liliane, he went over to Felix and Esther. He instructed the nurse coldly, “Take her back to the ward now.”

Felix held onto Esther tightly, fiercely protecting his mother. “No, Mommy isn’t going anywhere!”

Bradley roughly pulled Felix away from Esther. It was at this moment that Esther woke up. She opened her eyes and saw Felix bravely confronting Bradley, so she painfully pleaded, “Bradley, let go of my son.”

Upon hearing Esther’s words, Bradley and Felix stopped their actions.

Esther’s awakening bloomed in Bradley’s heart like a firework, silently but beautifully. His heart felt as if it were submerged in a honey jar, bubbling with sweetness.

Felix exclaimed with joy, “Mommy, you’re awake!”
