Chapter 41 of 42

(39) Glimpse

Hi guys! Sorry for the late update, had a wicked fever the last few days but here it is~

Soleil

The world around me floated away as I closed my eyes, the warmish water of the river caressed my skin. I almost felt naked under its sensual touches, the closeness it brought as I sunk deeper and deeper into its never-ending depths. But I could breathe.

Always and forever.

My mates voice echoed over the silence in my mind as I drifted. Her large smile and twinkly hazel eyes.

"Are you ready, Soleil, Harbinger of souls and dreams?"

The cool and shallow voice of the river echoed over the cavernous room. The waves of the river had become harsh in their ways as the voice makes it known. "Will you tell me who you are?" I wonder off, opening my eyes and finding purple crystals lining the walls of the hollow room. I couldn't remember much of how I got here and where I entered from. All I could care for is drowning myself in the large body of water.

"You tell me, Goddess of Stars and Dreams." It hisses out like steam buzzing off hot water. I could feel its presence like a eel wrapping around my bare skin. Tightening if I allow myself to tense. I smile thoughtfully, closing my eyes once again.

"You are everything and nothing. This cave of fresh river water is your home yet it isn't..." I trail off, licking my wet lips. "Your the Elder of this place. The protector. Your name is... Harlan, the seventh Elder."

"Correct indeed..." I hum softly, giggling in delight as a bubbly feeling rises in my chest. I feel so at peace in this large body of water. The world seemed so... calm. My boiling blood of magic in my veins had become silent and the ache between my brows long gone. "That feeling, dear one, is you naturally connecting yourself to your core. Breathe it all in, dear one. For now time is ready for you and your powers. Embrace your Goddess."

I don't reply as I sink into the water, a content smile as I see into the dark depths. Sadly no pretty fish swam by. However as I close my eyes and sink deeper, the underworld around me started to brighten and the future laid out in front of me.

"Mommy! Mommy!!" the little girl with shiny blonde hair gasps in happiness as she kicks around the ocean, squealing in delight as her rather tall mother plays by her side. The little girl giggles as her mother picks her up.

"Come, Raine. Your mother will be home soon enough." the husky voice of her mother ceased the giggling, Luna now frowns before blasting off with a large belly full of squeals.

"Mama coming home today!! Yay! Yay! I get to see mama!!!"

"Oh you," the mother whispers, smiling down at the child with adoration. "Lets go."

The two leave the beach and off onto the dirt road through the forest, the small town of werewolves and faeries bustling with life. As they move onward, the golden gates open wide for them, Raine bouncing every so second.

However, as she catches sight of a familiar figure, she takes off running, screaming with joy. "Mama!!"  Raine is caught in a rather beautiful blonde woman, sparkling blue eyes and a wide smile. The silver crown on stars sitting delicately on her luminous locks. "Mama! How was your trip? Did you meet lots and lots of other Gods and Goddess?!"

"I definitely did, my little moonshine. But you know, your Aunty Selene was the best one there."

Raine giggles and squeezes her mama tightly but the blonde woman found her soulmates gaze. "Damira, my love." Damira smiled warmly, embracing her half goddess and half wolf mate.

"Soleil, darling. Your looking very delectable as always."

"Shush... Now we need to discuss something of importance. My little moonshine, will you go and find Aunty Jasmine and tell her I've arrived?" Raine nodded rapidly.

"Yes mama!" the little girl ran for the mansion, giggling on her way. The two woman stood silently watching their daughter before embracing once again.

"Mmm," Soleil mumbles, "Your distracting me." Damira laughs. "Now. At the yearly meeting, the topic of Hell showed up."

Damira sighed. "So, we have another problem?" Soleil smiles sadly.

"I'm afraid so. Hec-"

The visions blur out and I gasp for air, gripping the pale sand under my fingertips. My body felt like it was on fire, the world tumbling about. "What..." I breathe out heavily, eyeing the dwarf in front of me. "What was that?"

The seventh Dwarf stared at me, its dark eyes burning with nothingness. "Your future. You've had a premonition. It's very rare young Goddess get them. Then again, your very rare yourself, dear one."

I nod, getting to my knees and noticing I'm not even wet. I'm even dressed differently! The silver classy dress fit perfectly, my natural curves now for show. Smiling softly, I stand slowly, clasping and unclasping my hands. I feel... like normal. I feel in control.

"Before you go, dear one. I must warn you. That future you may have seen. It can change. Whatever happens today, maybe tomorrow, that future isn't always just one mirror."

"I understand. Thank you," I step aside and walk through the crystal caves, finding the aged steps under my feet. They lead me down, down towards my mate, my future. I understand that what I've just taken a glimpse of, can change. Who knows what the future holds. Things can change.

The familiar sounds of her contagious laugh flittered over my ears, my smile widening. I find my beautiful mate laughing beside Selene, grass tangled in her hair. Beautiful. "May I ask, why is there grass in your hair, Mira?" I enquire, watching them freeze, Damira gaping.

"Mira..." I coo, searching her green. "I can finally touch you. See you... without that bright light around you." I take her all in, my smile saddening as the wet lumps of tears spread over her cheeks.

Quickly realizing what was happening, she brushes her cheeks. I lean into her touch as she cups my cheeks, kissing me ever so softly. "Soleil, I love you so much."

"Oh Mira. I love you too. I'm so glad..." she shuts me up with another kiss, bringing an arm around my waist to pull me closer. Oh Damira, your eyes tell me so many things and your heart beats with worry. But, when the time is right, I will listen and I will love you even more. "Mira..." I breathe out, leaning away slightly.

"Yes?"

"Will you take me as I am?" I ask, biting my lip. Damira grins, claiming my lips again before leaning down to graze her teeth over my neck.

"Always and forever, dear mate."
