Chapter 36 of 42

(34) What's happening?

Soleil

I couldn't remember being asleep. Or being injured by the Blade of Stars and Dreams. Or the time when I hit the sand. Nothing but pure darkness and nonexistence.

I stare at all the glowing people in the room. Each glow a different color yet Damira's glow was brighter than the sun. It took me a while to blink it away, frowning. Is there a reason everyone is glowing? Did Hecate do something to them?

"Glowing?" Damira echoes, eyeing me with concern. I nod, rubbing my eyes, hoping to relieve the stress on them. "Baby, we aren't glowing. Are you feeling okay?" she places a soft hand upon my forehead and everything shifted. The world froze and all I could see is Damira however it wasn't her.

A younger version that quickly shifted into her now and then into an older woman with a baby in her arms- with a gasp I pulled away, tears suddenly pouring down my cheeks. "Soleil, baby? What's wrong? Are you in pain?" Damira tries to touch me again but I immediately recoil. The movement makes her face fall, the others looking confused. Jasmine comes to Clara's side, watching me with concern.

But all I could focus on was what I had seen, even if it was just flashes. It was like... I could see the past and future...

"I... Damira I'm scared..." I could feel myself shake slightly, Damira's golden glow darkening slightly. Jasmines blue glow had paled so much, it was almost white. Why am I seeing these things? Why... what was that?

"Shh its okay, Soleil. Nothings wrong with you," again I recoil at her open arms, squeezing onto the corner of the bed.

"Don't touch me! Please... I don't want to see that..." Whatever that was. I could feel Damira in the bond, her emotions wavering as she takes me in. Whatever I am right now. I can't even feel Neoma! Tears of frustration water my eyes, the blanket near shreds with the tight grip I've got it in.

"Soleil... How's your shoulder feeling?" Jasmine asks, eyeing the dressed wound. I eye it myself, frowning. Right, the place the blade was buried. Right under the collar bone.

"It doesn't hurt," I touch the dressing, feeling for any injury but feel none. Curiously I peel back the white dressing and gasp. The wound gone, leaving one golden scar shaped into a star. "Gods! What is that?"

"That is the mark of the Goddess of Stars and Dreams," we whip around towards the unfamiliar voice, the stunning and glowing woman staring into my eyes. Her own wrapped in silver glare heatedly towards my shaking figure. Her golden glow seemed to outshine Damira almost, but you could feel the intensity of her. Everything about her screams "look at me!". Thats when I noticed the pointed ears sticking out from her golden strands. "The one who had created the Blade and it's ancient magic."

"Who are you?" Damira demands, standing protectively beside the bed. The woman turns her heated glare towards my mate.

"The High Queen of Faery, pup." before Damira could speak, she suddenly grabs me by the wrist, pulling me from the bed. My eyes widen, heart stammering. I waited for those flashes but none came, and The High Queen of Faerie smirked widely, knowingly. "The Blade has seeped right through you," she trails off, trailing a soft fingertip over the golden scar mark.

I push away from the High Queen, growling lowly. Her touch isn't right. I don't like it. "You don't feel right. I don't trust you," she barks a laugh, eyeing me.

"Good. You have natural instincts. Better to train," Damira, coming out of her daydream lunges forward however the High Queen struts away, Damira missing.

"What do you mean? Do you know what's wrong with Soleil?" my heart stings at her words slightly, frowning. Is there something seriously wrong with me? I'm still Soleil... just... weird right now.

"Of course I do. I sensed her power as soon as the Blade hit home," The High Queen made a motion with her finger, jabbing at her own shoulder. "Your mate is the Blade itself and I've been looking for her for a very long time," she pauses, eyeing Damira slightly. "Your mate will never be the same. She must always be protected, by herself and by others."

She points at me, silver eyes hardening. "You, are going to be very powerful once it all unlocks." As if she could sense a new presence, she turns to the open door, grinning. "Selene! Long time no see!" Selene, the Moon Goddess steps inside, no emotions flashing on her angelic features. I cringe as her silver light hits me as she enters.

"Dia, I've been expecting you. The power wave was pretty intense," Selene utters, turning to me. Damira glowers, moving closer to Selene.

"Wait, you knew about Soleil?! You knew and didn't warn us?"

"Because I had to wait for Dia, the High Queen of Faery. She's the one that Soleil will need. To take on Hecate and to take on herself."

"Wait, wait. Take on Hecate? You want me to end a Goddess?!" I practically scream, cringing as Clara whimpers at Jasmines side. "Sorry, baby. Why don't you and mommy head on out?" Jasmine takes that as a cue to grab Clara and leave. Once they were out of the picture, I turn to the three, feeling very confused.

Selene sighs, "I'm sorry I never told you about your fate, Soleil. Never told you, you would have all the power to end your enemies. Yes, I told you the truth about you and Damira needing to be together to fight off this powerful enemy. But I never told you what power you would need to defeat her. It had to be... a surprise or you would have never swung in to protect me." Damira and I stutter, watching the Goddess we thought was heroic, tell us she lied to us.

"It was all on purpose? My mate could have died!"

"But she didn't," Dia butts in, clasping Selene on the shoulder. "Selene may of excluded that bit of information however, it is for the greater good. She never knew the enemy would be Hecate, yet all she knew is that they would be extremely powerful. She foreseen the Blade in Soleil,"

Literally... I caress the scar, feeling it buzz under my fingertips. I can't believe this. I just... "What happens now?" I whisper, tearing up again. Gah! This experience has made me weepy! I'm not a weepy woman anymore!

"You will come to the Faery realm for seven days, in that time you will connect with your new abilities, training hard to prepare for your battle with Hecate," Dia speaks lowly, her regal power seeping through.

"I'm not leaving my mate!" I growl lowly, launching back on my heels, eyeing the two powerful beings in front of me. Dia sighs and Selene frowns sadly.

"Hecate may have been run into the ground yesterday, but she is growing hungrier for power. Once she senses you, Soleil, she will want everything you have. The death of your mate, your pack members and the Island itself. Then she'll use you like a puppet," Selene walks forward, going to caress my hair but thinks otherwise. "You won't be Soleil anymore."

Damira is silent, everything that has been shed to light slowly digesting. "Damira..." She gives me a small smile.

"Soleil sweetheart," she murmurs, opening her arms. I wish to bury myself in her warmth, but the thought of seeing images of past and future, scare the hell out of me. "Baby, whatever you choose, I'll be with you every step of the way. This is for your safety and future."

"I-I..." my words were all a jumbled mess. My new path is supposed to be like this? I'm suppose to lead us to peace all because this blade chose me as its successor? I was just an ordinary girl months ago. A werewolf Luna King the next. Now a what? The Goddess of Stars and Dreams? Heck, I have no idea anymore!

Far out, I could be a living breathing story right now.

"Soleil," I turn to my mate, smiling slightly.

"What is my purpose now Damira? All I wanted was a life with you, hopefully marriage... kids... normal? Now Hecate wants to ruin that? This Blade has ruined it. I-I can't take a goddess by myself. I'm not that powerful."

"Yet. Your not powerful yet, but you will be." Dia interrupts, her voice soothing into something of comfort. "That is why we need to get you to the Goddess Temple in my realm to train, to pure your blood for the magic now pumping there."

I clasp a fist towards my heart, eyeing the three in the room. I couldn't let any harm come towards Damira. The pack and everyone on the Island. I don't want Hecate to take all that away from me. What do I do? What is the right decision?

Hiiii guys! Man this was a long chapter?
