C24: Misunderstanding
When I woke up, the pleasant morning light coming through the window made my heavy eyelids feel even heavier. As I turned over to go back to sleep, I saw a manâs legs sticking out from under the bed through the crack in my slightly open eyelids.
âOh, my God!â
I was so surprised that my eyelids, which had been so heavy, were too light to open wide.
âYeah?â
I hear a muffled voice coming from under the bed. It was too dark to see clearly yesterday, but the manâs skin was a burnt wheat color, and I knew he was from outside the country.
âHey! What the hell are you doing here? Come out and go home now!â
âOh, thatâs the voice of the man who took me home yesterday. Where am I?â
âYouâre under the bed! Come out now!â
I rushed the brown man with a frustrated tone.
âIâm having trouble with my sleeping patterns! Hahahaha!â
The man laughed aloofly.
âGet out of here!â
âAll rightâ¦â¦.Huh?â
The sudden change in tone of voice gave me a bad feeling.
âHey, whatâs wrong?â
âI canât get out.â
âHow the hell did you get in here?â
âI was asleep. Ha ha ha ha ha!â
You bastard! Youâre a genius at getting on peopleâs nerves!
âIâm pulling you out!â
âSure, come on.â
I held both brown legs at my sides and pulled. Thatâs when the door opened with a slam.
âAre you all right, sir? Master Chrisâ¦â¦?â
âOh, Macbethâ¦â¦.â
Macbeth was stunned. From his angle, I appear to be in the position of an adult wheelbarrow.
âDear Chrisâ¦â¦I donât care a bit what kind of sexuality you have. As long as you donât do it with me, because I have no intention of doing itâ¦â¦.â
âNo! Itâs a misunderstanding!â
âA misunderstanding?â
At that moment, the brown man made a muffled sound.
âOw! Ow! Slow down!â
âI knew it!â
Macbeth turned pale and ran from the room.
âHey! What the hell are you saying?â
âYou have to pull slower or it hurts!â
Immediately afterwards, I followed Macbeth, and it took me an hour to clear up the misunderstanding.
âSo, this is the guy you brought in?â
Macbeth said, looking at the man with only his legs sticking out of the bed.
âWell, Iâve only seen his feet. Also, watch your words. You still donât believe me, do you?â
âNo, Iâm just messing with you.â
âOkay. Iâll lift the bed.â
Macbeth and I split up on either side of the bed and lifted it up.
âAll right, Iâve lifted it! Come on out!â
Then we heard a thumping sound, so Macbeth and I pulled the bed down. But we couldnât see the man outside the bed, not even his legs.
âIdiot! What are you doing rolling towards the bed?â
âHuh?â
I heard a distracted voice from under the bed.
âYou slept through the whole thing!â
âOh, my God! I canât move! What the hell is this? Iâm trapped under the bed!â
After that, I called the other squires and finally managed to rescue him.
âIâm sorry. I didnât mean to bother you.â
I could sense that the man was offended, but his tone of voice didnât stop me from being annoyed.
âIf you think youâre bothering me, leave.â
âYouâre a good brother, please let me buy you a drink or something! Of course Iâll buy you all a drink!â
No, I donât mean that. I really want you to leave. Please. However, despite my feelings, the three of them shouted with joy.
âYes!â
âThank you!â
âItâs daytime drinking!â
âLetâs go!â
âOooooh!â
The four of them skipped off into the city, and I trudged after them.
