"Hot Chocolate time!" Mary yelled at the top of her lungs, hoping everyone wakes up.
All the kids: Tom, Ashley, and Ellie, slowly came downstairs. Tom yawned, his breath reeked as he forgot to brush his teeth. Ashley and Ellie both have on bonnets and their hair looked a mess. All the kids brought their backpacks with them since today is a Friday and school is still important in their lives. Miguel, their cute Jack Russell Terrier breed dog showed up anticipating his meal.
"It smells amazing!" Tom excitedly said.
"Well, your breath doesn't smell amazing." Ellie teased and laughed at him. Ashley tried her hardest to hold back her laughter.
"Hey, be nice to your brother!" Mary, their mother said to Ellie.
"Yeah, you better be nice to me!" Tom said with the utmost confidence. Sticking out his tongue at Ellie, she did the same thing as well.
"It is time to eat? We're starving! Even Miguel is pleading for us to feed him." Ashley asked.
"Not yet, we have to wait for your father." She told her. Ashley's face frowned in annoyance, feeling impatient.
"Dad always takes a long time to get ready!!" Ashley whines and pouts, crossing her arms.
"Your father has to look good no matter what. Just thinking about him gets me excited." She said, smiling whimsically.
"Ew! No one wants to hear your perverted thoughts. Save it for the bedroom!" Ellie was disgusted by her mother's words.
"Eh... This pikin got jokes?!" She laughed hard at her daughter's comments. All the kids are giving her the side-eye like she's a witch.
"I'm coming down in one minute, don't finish all the food," Lamonte yelled out.
"Alright, Daddy!" Mary yelled back.
"Daddy?! You are not his daughter!" Ashley could not believe what she heard.
"I know, but you will understand once you grow up and find yourself a man you love a lot." She responded.
"Do you love Dad a lot?" Tom asked, trying to get involved in the conversation.
"Of course, that is why I married and birthed three beautiful children with him." She replied.
Lamonte finally arrived downstairs, wearing his work attire which consisted of a blue button-down shirt with a black tie, black pants, and black shoes. Mary looked at him like he was a billion dollars, her heart melted glaring at him. The children and Miguel were happy to see him especially since they were all hungry.
"You look good, honey!" She told him, wrapping her hands around his neck.
"You look beautiful as always!" He told her, bringing her forward to plant a kiss
"Are we going to eat or are we just going to watch you two suck face?" Ashley asked, interrupting their intimate moment. Mary and Lamonte stopped kissing to laugh.
"My children are comedians. Let's put all our time and energy into the breakfast I've made. Isn't that right, honey?" Mary asked, looking and smiling at her husband.
"Definitely! Even Miguel is begging us to feed him. Let's eat!" Lamonte said. All the children and Miguel jumped for joy hearing that news. That's all they cared about.
Mary placed all the food and drinks on the table. The food she made was Yogurt Parfait, Baked Feta Egg Casserole, Pumpkin Spice Latte Pancakes, Bacon, sausages, Hash, and pineapples. She made hot chocolate for everyone to drink. As for the food for Miguel, she made pan-seared duck breast and Turkey with fresh veggies. Sadly, he doesn't get to experience the heavenly flavor of drinking hot chocolate. But he does get to have the most delicate and refreshing water that any dog would be jealous of. Mary is happy with the hard work and love she put into this meal.
She decorated the kitchen area to perfection. Everything looked and felt like Christmas. A red and white tablecloth covers the table. The chairs have White covers. Shiny Brite Candlesticks are placed in the middle of the table, making it feel warm. The utensils, plates, and cups are golden. The napkins are folded into the shape of a Christmas Tree. Funny enough that they have a mini Christmas tree at the end of the table. She does not mess around when it comes to decorating.
The kitchen area is the only place that is decorated in the house so far since Christmas is nowhere near close. So she has a lot of time to turn her house into the North Pole.
Everyone sat on their seats, and Miguel got his dog seat next to the kitchen table. Before anyone gets to eat anything, they must bless the food.
"Thank you Heavenly Father for making us see another day. I'm blessed to have a wonderful, supportive, and handsome husband..." Mary paused as she heard Ashley snickering. She gave her child the death stare and the laughter stopped. Mary gave a slick smile knowing that she won. She continued praying.
"As I was saying, I'm thankful for my husband aka the best man in my life. I'm thankful for my three beautiful children. Let them be wise, kind, hardworking, and great every day. Don't let anyone or anything bring them down. Keep their confidence and humanity strong. Of course, I'm thankful for Miguel. The best dog we ever have! He is more than just a dog, he's part of our family. Keep him healthy, loving, and adorable.
Bless this food so that no evil spirits will harm or corrupt us. Give this food the nutrition that we need to tackle the day. Thank you for everything and continue to bless us. In God and Jesus's name, Amen." She prayed, then everyone said "Amen" to make the prayer official.
"That was a phenomenal prayer, baby!" Lamonte told her, kissing her on the cheek. She blushed, the children tried their hardest to hold back their laughter and disgust.
Thank you, honey!" She said.
"Mom, I got a prayer as well!" Ashley excitedly announced, usually she's not this excited about prayer.
"Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Does my child want to pray? This is a miracle! Go ahead and say your blessings." She enthusiastically told her daughter.
"Dear God, I pray that my brother brushes his teeth because his breath is stankin!!!" She said, busted out in laughter. Ellie laughed out loud as well.
