Volume 1 Chapter 24: People here are all very normal

“Nowadays, people are not sincere at all.”

Ning Chu, carrying a bag of snacks, walked out of the convenience store, complaining.

“You are clearly in a bad mood, it’s already good I actively asked, but you still don’t want to tell me, he probably think it better to suffer than to lose his face.”

Still, he had only known Zhang Shaoqing for a few weeks, and it was indeed challenging to become close friends in such a short time.

Arriving at the basketball court between the dormitory buildings, Ning Chu found a bench in a corner, sat down, and, in the shade of the trees, tore open the bag of potato chips, placing it on his lap. While eating, he looked at the students exerting themselves on the court not far away.

Sipping cola and eating potato chips, Ning Chu leaned back on the bench. His mind finally didn’t need to think about how to deal with plot issues. He stared intently in the direction of the basketball court, occasionally getting excited because of a beautiful goal.

“Meow~”

A weak and sweet meow caught his attention. Looking down, he saw a small black cat staggering out from the green bushes behind him, its little head looking around.

“A cat?”

Muttering, Ning Chu bent down, reached out, and cautiously used his fingertips to touch the kitten’s head.

The fur was dirty, obviously not abandoned by some unethical student; it was probably a common stray cat on campus.

Although the kitten’s movements were unsteady, its eyes were exceptionally agile and intelligent. Sensing the kindness from him, it tilted its body and lay directly on the surface of his shoes, playing with his shoelaces as if they were toys.

“Meow~”

“Do you want some potato chips? I can’t take you back, can I?”

The guys in the dormitory didn’t show any affection for the cat— Ah, that’s not true, Zhang Shaoqing seemed to like cat girls.

Oh, cat girl?

He suddenly remembered something, squatted down, gently lifted one of the kitten’s hind legs with his fingers, and lowered his head to carefully look for the tiny creature.

“This person is really weird…”

“Hurry up.”

Two passersby hurriedly walked past, leaving behind their judgment of weirdness.

“…” Ning Chu sat back on the bench in silence, silently rolled his eyes at those two passersby.

God, being treated as a weirdo by the characters in a weird Hentai-themed novel! What’s wrong with checking if the cat has anything down there?

But based on the fact that he personally wrote this weird Hentai-themed novel, he really couldn’t refute it.

“It’s a pity that you are a female cat, if you were a male cat, I would have adopted you.”

“Meow!”

“No, what if one day you turn into a cat girl and seduce Wen Yang? What should I do?” Ning Chu pretended to understand the meow of the kitten, shaking his head seriously as he explained.

But after all, it was the cat he adopted. What if it turned into a cat girl and chose to repay him?

“Meow~”

“Forget it, I really can’t keep you.”

The little kitten rubbed against Ning Chu’s ankle with its head, looking quite satisfied, as if it was pretending to be injured.

He liked small animals himself, his face showed a dilemma. After looking around, he had to stand up and go to the convenience store again, buying a piece of chicken sausage for the little cat.

Keeping pets in the dormitory was actually a serious matter. Even though he was tempted, without his roommates’ consent, he could only frequent this area and bring some food and drink for the little cat.

After obtaining a chicken sausage through its “injury” act, the little kitten finally let go of Ning Chu, burying its head in the food happily.

“I almost brought a cat back on this trip…”

The school has a large area, consisting of several large campuses, and it is said that there are three cafeterias. However, he had only moved around in four places before: the dormitory, cafeteria, teaching building, and the playground.

Estimating within the dormitory area of a dozen or so buildings, there were sporadic basketball courts and exercise equipment between the buildings. In the center of the dormitory area was a small garden built around an artificial lake.

After parting ways with the little cat, Ning Chu came to this garden.

Under the shade of trees and the gentle breeze, the afternoon heat was alleviated. He strolled along the cobblestone path in the garden, smelling the fragrance of blooming flowers in the air. The suppressed mood finally relaxed at this moment.

“Although weird elements like hypnosis and tentacle monsters appear in  books, they are completely invisible in real life.”

Ning Chu sighed, “People here are really normal…”

However, before he could finish his sigh, he heard a coquettish gasp in his ears.

His expression stiffened, and his steps halted.

Hey hey hey! It’s broad daylight! Can’t they find a hotel or something?!

This is outrageous!

He stiffened his neck and turned to look towards the source of the sound, vaguely hearing the gasping coming from behind a thicket of bushes.@@novelbin@@

Having never experienced such a thing, he felt his face warming up. The shyness of a small virgin made him awkward and nervous. Surprisingly, the students passing by occasionally didn’t react much.

The openness of the world was beyond his imagination.

Although curiosity tempted Ning Chu to take a peek, he chose to return the way he came.

Hurry back! This is indeed a dangerous world!

He turned his head in a panic and ran, not daring to stop until he entered the cool dormitory, finally able to catch his breath.

“What’s wrong? Why so startled?”

Hearing a somewhat rough door opening sound, Zhang Shaoqing, sitting in front of the computer, curiously asked, “Did a guy confess to you when you went out? Why is your face so red?”

“It’s much scarier than that…” Ning Chu quickly took a few breaths, then explained with an embarrassed look, “Just now, in the garden, I heard someone, uh… doing things.”

Zhang Shaoqing was stunned, “Where? Can you take me there?”

“No!”

Suddenly, Wen Yang’s voice came from the bed, “If the school catches you, at least you’ll get a disciplinary warning. If it’s more serious, they might expel you.”

Ning Chu looked up, and Wen Yang was sitting at the bedside, yawning repeatedly, “Your door opening was too loud, it woke me up.”

“Sorry…”

Listening to Wen Yang’s words, he felt a bit calmer.

Fortunately, although he saw the open side of people today, judging by the school’s attitude towards disciplinary warnings and expulsions, it’s still relatively normal in societal standards.

Perhaps the couple engaging in activities were characters in the plot, so it was a bit exaggerated?

“You just heard some little love making noise and your face is already beet red.” Zhang Shaoqing sneered, “You must be a virgin.”

“Why do you care?! Isn’t Wen Yang one too?”

“Him? A group of girls are waiting in line for him, and he’s not in a hurry. What about you?”
