Chapter 507 Sophia pondered. So Timothy isnât Adaâs? Then who is his mother? Did Jason, this scumbag, not only involved with Ada but also with another woman? And did Ada, up to her old tricks, steal another womanâs son to pass off as a Wilson? So Iâm the one wearing the horns.â
A nameless anger surged within her. Sophia turned away, mocking Jason. âArenât you about to marry Ada? Sheâll make a fine stepmother? With that, she strode out of the room.
Jason braced himself against the bed frame, attempting to rise, but the movement aggravated his chest wound, sending a sharp pain through him and forcing him back down. He wondered, âIt seemed that Sophia firmly believed in her sonâs death. Did she truly have no doubts that Timothy was her child?
Sophia naturally had doubts. She was too angry in the ward just now to think clearly. Once she stepped outside into the cold wind, her mind cleared Oliver mentioned that he didnât see her sonâs remains in the ruins back then. So they speculated that the child was taken away by those men in black. Sophia pondered, âIs there a possibility that those men in black sell the child to Ada? Or perhaps those people were sent by Ada to steal my son? If thatâs the case, am I his biological mother?â
As Sophia stepped out of the elevator, she collided forcefully with Oliver, who was there to meet her, causing her to stagger backward. Oliver reacted swiftly, reaching out to catch her waist and pull her back. âWhatâs wrong! You seem distracted,â he asked.
Sophia snapped out of her daze, eager to confirm her suspicions. She grabbed Oliverâs wrist abruptly and asked, âDid you find out the identity of those men in black that day you investigated?â
Seeing her anxious expression, Oliver frowned and replied honestly, âNot yet, but donât worry, Iâll increase manpower to continue the investigation.â
Sophia suddenly deflated. Oliver noticed her downcast mood and couldnât help asking, âWhatâs wrong?â His gaze swept over her, keenly noticing the spattered bloodstains on her hands, âAre you bleeding? Where are you injured?
Sophia followed his gaze to the faint specks of blood on the back of her right hand and fingers, stark against her skin. âIâm fine.
The blood is from Jason. I stabbed him in the chest,â she explained calmly.
Mentioning Jason, Sophia fell into uncertainty once again. âWhy did he suddenly decide to marry Ada? Could he have some leverage in the hands of her? And what about Timothy? Why hasnât there been any news about him recently?â
Feeling overwhelmed, Sophia took several deep breaths to calm herself. Suppressing her chaotic thoughts, she smiled and said, Tm hungry. Letâs go eat first.â
Oliver swallowed the words he was about to say. Sophia was unsettled now, and continuing the conversation would only worsen her mood. âAlright,â he agreed.
In the ward. Jason held a laptop at the head of the bed. On the screen, a surveillance video from the hospitalâs underground parking garage showed Oliver and Sophia embracing tightly.
A muffled cough echoed, each effort causing a pool of fresh blood to seep from his chest. The meandering blood pooled more and more, quickly saturating his entire chest.
Derick stood by the bed, staring in disbelief. He pondered, âThis was reckless behavior. Didnât Jason know what was going on with his heart! Didnât he realize the danger? And to stab himself with a knife! Whatâs even more infuriating is he brought a laptop to watch surveillance footage for punishment. If he keeps this up, his life will be over in less than three months.
Derick said, âAaron, take away his laptop and lay him down; I will pull out the knife Aaron couldnât bear to look at Jasonâs pale appearance. He turned his face slightly away, choking up, saying, âIf you donât take care of yourself, youâll only watch as Sophia marries Oliver and Timothy calls him âdadâ in the future. Theyâll become a happy family.â
