I was a dessert.
A piece of cake.
Sarah would say he probably found me sweet and cute as one, but she was a hopeless romantic.
I was not.
So yes, I was a piece of cake to him, because he knew I would be as easy to finish as one.
Sometimes I wish I had a similar out look on life as Sarah, I wished her energy rubbed of on me at least a little. Alas, it was wishful thinking.
I watched as he took down the first guy that fought against him. He looked as if he just picked up a sack of potatoes and slung it over his shoulder. A part of me was horrified by how strong a man can get but... another part of me wished to watch.
To watch what more he could do...
Would he be able to break someones neck with his bare hands?
Neck.
His hands around my neck.
My body quivered at the thought. A sense of dread washed over me, a warm sensation in my core.
God no! Stop it you dirty mind! I have bigger things in life then...
Stop it I said!
My thought's got interrupted as König had thrown another person straight onto the ground, their arms on their back as he pressed their body into the dirt. He quickly let go of them, pointing out some of their mistakes.
"Do you think he will go easier on us?"
The girl next to me asked, she looked worried, I was surprised König chose another girl seeing as there is maybe a few guys here who could barely lay a hand on him.
"We will have to see. I wouldn't hope for it though."
She breathed out a heavy sigh.
"Don't worry they won't hurt us, maybe bruise us a little."
I smiled at her warmly, trying to help her relax.
I glanced over at Sarah, seeing if she is doing good, my eyes stopped on Ghost. Micheal was still waiting for his turn, he looked proud of himself. I hope I could see him fight against the LT, if only I could also mess him up.
Ghost's demeanor felt completely different from the one when he was sparing with me. He was wearing a short sleeved black shirt.
His arms looked so God damn good.
I snapped back to König as he was now fighting with the girl.
He didn't spare her any strength. Treated her exactly as the guys.
Fuck, that will hurt.
I swallowed as our eyes met.
"Shade."
"Yes Sir."
I walked closer, ready for the pain as much as one can be. His eyes following my every move like a wolf ready to devour the small rabbit hopping it's way.
"You had the time to watch so I am hoping for a good performance on your side."
"I will try my best, Sir."
His work mode was honestly impressive. I always found it hard to separate work from everyday life, that's why everyone around me worried that I might be a workaholic. The truth was, that I had no life except work, military was the only thing that kept me alive.
We both took a proper stance.
First match. He started to run at me trying to catch me by surprise, being quick was my only option here. Even if I planned on losing, I wasn't going doing it without a fight. I went in for a kick, however he grabbed my leg in time. He was going to twist it so I tried to press my whole body weight to make him bend at least a bit.
Surprisingly it worked, his grasp became weaker as if he forgot we were sparing so I tried to kick him again. He pushed me into the ground harshly, his mind coming back from daydreaming, I prepared myself for the pain but I was gently pressed against the dirt. I opened my eyes to see König on top of me.
Damn he was big.
And heavy.
He took his time before getting off of me, but he didn't hurt me at all. He was gentle, nothing like Ghost and his harsh punches to my poor body.
"Let's try that again."
He started acting like he did with the other soldiers. I got up and we started the next round. I felt a little more confident and calm.
König didn't charge first this time, instead he waited for me to initiate the first move. I went straight at him, he tried to punch me but I grabbed his arm swiftly moving behind him. I kicked his leg and he landed on his knees. He tried to elbow me with his other arm but I pushed him further into the ground.
He went easy on me. Did he not want to hurt me?
I let go of him and we both got up.
"This was much better than before. Keep this up, mein maus."
"Y-yes Sir. Thank you, Sir."
Mouse? What does he think of me?
I walked back to the group, there was a short talk from one of the sergeants and we were all soon dismissed. After everyone started to walk back to the barracks I was stopped by König.
"If you ever need a sparing partner. Bitte, come find me, Shade."
I was a little confused by his proposition, I guessed KorTac wanted to test me further. Did he realize I wasn't fighting for real?
"Thank you Sir. I will surely take you up on that offer."
He might have been way softer with me than Ghost, but I could learn something from him for sure, after all his pointers so far seemed to help everyone.
"I didn't hurt you too much, did I."
"I could take on much more then that Sir."
I gave him a smile, did he want something more from me? He always looked like he wanted to say something more.
"Does the Colonel doubt our soldiers abilities?"
Ghosts voice made the aura around us turn cold, he looked like he was ready to fight the giant man. But why? Did something happen between the two of them?
"Ah, Ghost. No, how could I doubt your soldiers. I just believe learning from KorTac could prove beneficial for those who seek more experience."
"Is that so? I am sure Specgru can fully take care of those who prove themselves."
I stood awkwardly in between the two soldiers. They looked menacing, I might have been a bit below average height but it didn't change the fact they both were really tall, making me look even smaller. König looked away from Ghost focusing back on me.
"What do you think Shade? Can Specgru truly help you learn more then KorTac?"
Why was I suddenly dragged into their banter?! I glanced at Ghost, rethinking all my possible answers.
"Sir personally, I don't believe I have the experience to answer such a question."
"Are you saying Specgru doesn't provide enough for you to asses the growth of your abilities?"
No! Oh god! He was going to switch this around no matter what I said! I looked at Ghost with a shocked expression, he didn't look happy with my answer but he was waiting for me to answer the next one. König was still the Colonel.
"You don't have to lie just because the Lieutenant is here. I ask you to speak your mind, Schatz."
"Y/N. You are dismissed
I knew it. He called me by my name. He made a back ground check on me, the only question is when? After the spar? No, he was already keeping his eye on me, it must have been before that. Before They came here then?
I looked over at the Colonel, there was a visible surprise in König's eyes. Oh yeah, this was the first time he has heard my name.
"Go. Get some rest."
He must have noticed something wrong with my reaction.
"Thank you, Colonel König, Lieutenant Ghost."
They both looked towards your disappearing figure. König wondered what was going on between you and Ghost, after all he had to pull on many strings to find out your real name. So how many of them did Ghost have to pull to find out? Or have you told him yourself?
As soon as you were gone from their view they both looked at each other, standing awfully close for comfort. The tension growing higher then before. Ghost moved away first, not saying anything he just walked away.
He himself wasn't sure what KorTac was playing at.
You were going to be a great addition to the team. He wasn't letting Price's hard work be wasted because you caught the Colonels eye. You were going to end up in the 141, he was going to make sure of that.
