NOTE: OMG I was about to celebrate hitting 50k views and you guys already brought it up to 60k!! I am honestly surprised, I didn't think this would get that popular. I swear I was just thanking you guys for the 5k views and now we are halfway to a 100! I can't stretch out enough how grateful I am for you all! Thank you!

---

I got out of the car, stretching my sore legs and arms. The ride turned out to be longer then expected, I sighed remembering how I had to switch one of the tires because none of the guys seemed to know how to do it properly. They were lucky I was there and I was unlucky to be with them...

How are these men even soldiers when they don't know how to change a tire?! I was at least happy that Persha made sure to get all of my things packed and brought to me. I grabbed the bags from another person, I thanked and waved to him as I started to walk away. I took a deep breath making my way towards the so friendly looking face.

Price was waiting for me together with Soap, I just needed to get through the first  two days then we will be sent on the mission and I will be able to focus solely on work alone.

I closed my eyes for a moment, the sight of Königs bare face appeared in my mind, the sun rays softly hitting his skin making him glow. His arms held me in place through the whole night, not letting go even for a moment even when his lashes fluttered and he finally opened his eyes. His raspy voice was still stuck in my head, making more then butterflies rattle in my stomach.

He didn't seem that much bothered about me leaving, which was odd but I decided to brush it off for now. Perhaps I was simply looking at it wrong, I just hoped this wasn't a one time thing. If it was, I would at least be happy that it happened.

I got rid of those thoughts and opened my eyes, I was almost standing in front of the 141.

"Nice to finally have you, Shade."

"Viper."

"Ah, yes. Viper."

Price fixed his mistake with a smile, however Soap looked a little confused shifting his gaze from me back to the Captain.

"Viper? Since when you can just change your call tags?"

I bit my tongue from mentioning my rank. I could use it now, but... I would rather keep it for later. I did like my previous call tag, it wasn't just cool sounding.

It described me. Described my role perfectly.

Shade, one that follows you, hiding in sight, never letting the light touch them. I was the Sniper that followed, the one who protected, I wasn't just a shadow.

"I guess they have favorites around the main base."

I laughed softly, I could swear Soap's face brightened as he heard me do so. I was still mad but at least I didn't have to explain myself.

"Alright, let's get moving?"

I nodded my head, it's not like I had a lot of stuff, most of them were clothes anyway. I wasn't about to leave my dresses behind, I got them for my undercover missions but they weren't that bad looking and the quality was actually good.

We got to the car and for once in my life I cursed on the fact that they couldn't just fly me here before. My legs begged for me not to sit back down and let them stand straight for a minute longer but there was not much I could do.

I took my bags and threw them into the back, making myself comfortable perhaps I could even take a nap. No way in hell I am sitting in the front when I can have all this free space to myself. Of course Price was the one driving while Soap... for fucks sake.

"Move over."

Soap got into the back with me. I took a deep breath and sighed loudly before making some space for him, I guess this was it for my moment of peace. I rested my head against the seat and closed my eyes.

"Price will get lonely without you."

"I can see and hear you quite well from here Shade."

"It's Viper for you."

Soap didn't say anything but I couldn't care less, I couldn't believe I trusted their friendly attitude once before. If they want to gain my trust back it will take much more then some friendly banter.

---

The ride was short, which was good news for my sore body. Soap tried on making some conversation but I either didn't replay or gave him such vague answers that it was impossible to continue. At some point he gave up and let me rest, I was honestly still tired especially after...

I felt my heart squeeze at the thought of the night.

I already want to go back...

I grabbed one of my bags, before I could reach for the other one it has already been yanked by the Scottish man.

"I can carry it myself."

I reached for the handle on it, as he noticed Soap threw it over his shoulder.

"I can't let you carry everything, what kind of gentleman would that make me?"

"Since when are you a gentleman?"

He chuckled deeply.

"You are about to find out."

I gave up on taking back my stuff and we followed the Captain through empty grounds, buildings, soon we reached the accommodation area. I had to agree. This place looked way better the the main base of Specgru, maybe because it is newer, or since it is much smaller.

"Impressed already?"

Soaps smile didn't seem to disappear from his face.

"Wait till you see your room."

Price let the sergeant lead me to the quarters, he had some other stuff to take care off. Oh god no. Did they prepare some kind of surprise? Don't tell me it will be painted pink or something along the lines.

We reached the door and he waited until I open it, I looked at him a little nervous and confused from his excitement.

"Go on, what are you waiting for?"

My eyes darted to the door next to us, it was opening slowly as if I was seeing everything in slow motion. I saw the black gloves and before I could even think I opened the door to my own room and quickly shut it behind me leaning against it.

"Looks like she doesn't want to see you, Lt."

His words were met with silence.

"Looks like you did something else as well. She didn't react this way towards me or Price."

Only then did I realize what I did. I scurried away like a little rat.

Why a rat? Why is it always a damn rat? Can't I think of a lizard? Or a mouse?

"Mause..."

I placed my fingers to my lips remembering his soft kisses. Kisses. That's when I thought about it. The kiss. The one that started everything. When we kissed on that damned mission, everything happened after that.

The image of König was replaced by Ghost's masked face, the way his eyes were looking at me, begging for more. How his nails dug into my skin, the ravishing sensation that came with him. Stop it! I am such a slut!

I tried to focus on something else, the voices behind the door long gone. I looked around the room finally taking it in. It was... nice.

Actually it was more then nice, the room was slightly bigger and I had a few more shelves. It wasn't pink to my surprise, not that I minded that much but I would rather have colors that could calm me down. The dirty green was something I had already gotten used to and it made me feel safer even if just a little.

There was another door and I went to check where it was leading. A bathroom. With both a shower and a toilet. Finally I will get some privacy, my rank was slowly paying off even if later then it should have.

I made sure no one was outside the door and opened it, my bag was laying right in front of it. I grabbed it and went back into my new room, the first thing I wanted do is take a damn shower.

---

This was probably one of the best decisions I had made today, the warm water made my body relax, my muscles less tens then when I left the car. I let my hair lose, my scalp getting the much needed rest from the pony tails. While picking out some casual clothes that made sure to cover as much of my body as possible, mainly the hickeys that adored my skin.

I was happy that today was supposed to be free, I looked at the hour and realized that it's lunch time already.

I had no idea where the cafeteria was.

Welp, I guess I have to get to know the base better anyway. I made sure my hair was tamed even in it's still wet form and made my way out of the living quarters. I didn't meet anyone familiar on my way as I explored the complex building, there wasn't any signs nor many people that I could ask anything. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry, although most of the corridors were completely empty.

Not a very outsider friendly place. I managed to come across the gym, and I noticed it wasn't as big or equipped as the main headquarters one or the KorTacs but it will still do well enough.

It was clearly styled under everyone on the 141 team, I wondered which machines were chosen by who, obviously they used all of them but what were they training programs. I didn't think about that before... Will I be given a new training program or will I be able to make it myself?

I finally got to the cafeteria, there wasn't that many people with a few empty tables here and there. I went to get my food, I looked behind me as the feeling of being observed burned in the back of my head.

I saw Soap waving at me from his table, I could see Gaz and Simon sitting next to him, the image of the campfire was brought into my head. I felt a pang of guilt stab into my heart as I decided to ignore them, instead I sat down at an empty table trying to enjoy my meal in peace.

Not like that lasted for long.
