König looked at me with wide eyes, I wasn't sure whether he was surprised or confused, or maybe both. He hasn't heard me talk much in Polish before so it probably must have sounded weird.

"What did you say?"

I had to make something up.

"That it's nice of you to want me safe."

He looked even more curious, like he just found something he has never seen before. He moved closer to me, his hand slowly moving to rest on my waist.

Oh my God. I forgot how hot his hands were. The things I would lat them do to me- Shade! Get your shit together!

"It was Polish right? How many languages do you know?"

He looked like all of his exhaustion was dispersed and had turned into excitement that focused solely on me.

"I speak three but I know four."

"Four? Which ones exactly?"

He sounded genuinely shocked, but now I was worried. He has no idea I speak German. Do I lie to him or do I say the truth?

"I speak Polish, English, a bit of broken Spanish and..."

Do I?

He looked at me with anticipation. His puppy eyes... I can't say 'no' to this man.

"German."

I spoke with a sheepish smile and watched as his excitement turned into a look of horror, puppy eyes glossing over, the embarrassment and fear written on his visible features.

"You... speak...?"

"Yes."

I said before he could continue, quickly grabbing the hand that rested on my side, afraid that he would take it away. Even in this situation I was craving his touch.

"You were acting so sweet, I didn't want to ruin it."

He kept quiet, unsure how he should react. I don't blame him, he was calling me all the sweet stuff, not knowing I understood every single word.

"W-why didn't you say anything?"

"I was going to tell you eventually but... I wanted for you to keep calling me that more."

"That...?"

"Mein Liebling, Schatz, Mause. All of that."

His eyes softened and he seemed to calm down but not entirely, he still looked nervous. His breathing became quicker, his whole demeanor felt like the one that I saw on the rescue mission. It made something in me spark.

"I like it."

This time I sounded out of breath, my smile much more relaxed then before as I tried to reassure him. His eyes looked deep into mine and I could feel it doing something to me. It was the truth, his words made me feel good, they calmed me down.

"I really do."

He wasn't saying anything and I wasn't sure whether it was a right thing to do.

---

His breath caught in his throat as you spoke. You liked it. You liked when he called you his little mouse, his treasure. His love. Was he dreaming? Did he fall asleep and not notice?

He couldn't care right now. All that mattered was that you were in front of him and saying you liked his affection. You wanted it. You weren't going to push him away. Taking it slow payed out. Königs grip on your waist tightened and he dragged you closer, pressing you into his chest.

"König?"

He didn't want to scare you. He had to calm down. He took a deep breath, making your scent hit his nose, it made him feel even crazier.

"Yes?"

"What are you doing?"

The blush on your cheeks still hasn't disappeared, in fact it has only gotten darker. He moved his head lower bringing your face up by the chin. He moved his face closer focusing on your plum lips, he forgot about his mask for a moment and tried to kiss you through it. He moved his face and whispered into your ear, unable to stop himself from speaking.

"Mein Liebe." - (My love)

It felt nice. No. It felt great to say it knowing you understood every word.

Every word that he meant dearly.

Your arms wrapped around him as you buried your face in his chest. He could tell you were shaking slightly, whether it was from the cold or the excitement that has been rooted in your body by his actions. He hugged you, content with the given affection, one that he had been craving for so long.

König pressed a kiss on your head, taking in the smell of your shampoo. He wanted to do much more, his lips were begging for yours, but he also felt tired. He wasn't exactly sure how far you were willing to go and he didn't want to ruin his progres in any way.

"Mein schönes Mädchen." - (My beautiful girl)

With you in his arms he felt safe, like he just found something that had been lost many years ago. He would still have to talk with you about joining KorTac. All day he has been trying to get Specgru to let go of her contract. He wouldn't let them take you back now that you came to him.

König was going to keep you.

And The Major would have to let it happen, he wouldn't give her any other option.

---

The past few days have been... interesting, to say the least. We all have been placed in a weird situation, not that any of the KorTac soldiers seemed to mind my presence.

In fact, they all have been acting very friendly towards me, laughing how I have tamed their Colonel... well... at least the rookies were. The rest didn't really talk to me and if they did it was purely work related. Not that I minded.

Ever since I came here, König has been making sure I am alright, he didn't want to send me back to Specgru even when our superiors advised to do so. He said he will let me stay with KorTac until the deal is settled and ignored me when I said I didn't want to cause more problems that I already have.

So he assigned me some duties that didn't require confidentiality. I was happy to take off some load of work that has rested on his shoulders, most of the days he looked so exhausted that I felt terrible just by looking at him.

I wonder if Ghost also has so much on his head.

I sighed as he entered my mind again. No. Scratch that. Ghost has never left my mind. Not even once after that day... the day I broke his heart.

"You good?"

Stiletto asked from beside me, she was quite nice to me. She was also the one who gave me instructions on the jobs that I took upon. It turns out KorTac doesn't exactly work the same way as Specgru, it made me want to reach their expectations and not fall behind on anything. I was motivated even more after meeting Königs team.

"Yeah, just a lot on my mind. Nothing too serious though."

Everything was very much serious and important, but I knew that I would probably never see Ghost again. Even if I did, I doubt it would be on friendly terms.

"Don't worry. If there is anything I can say about out our Colonel then it's that he is damn reliable."

The thought of my contract and how everyone I trusted, except Sarah, betrayed me only brought my mood down.

I wonder how Sarah is doing. I hope she didn't get in trouble because of me.

"Well, I have some more work to get through. If you need anything just find one of us, I am sure someone will help."

"Oh, yeah. Thanks."

I was once again left alone. I kept on placing the files in order, making sure everything was segregated perfectly as I was told to do.

My duties weren't hard and I got to train with random teams, KorTac really was proving to be a better option.

I wonder how the talks will go today. Will König be able to strike a deal with Persha?

I should prepare myself to go back to Specgru...

---

I was called over to a different sector, I bit on my lip nervously as I made my way through the hallways. They didn't give me a proper reason. Did I fuck up a task? But then why would they call me here and not tell me that at the offices?

It had to be something else.

I walked towards the conference rooms that Horangi told me to go to. I looked for the door with number 52B, there was someone standing next to the entrance, it was just another soldier.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was told to come here, I wasn't stated a reason."

"Name?"

"Shade."

He moved a bit and nodded towards the door.

"Alright."

I opened the door slowly after taking a deep breath. When was the last time I was this stressed about something? I couldn't quite remember. I knew I was nervous when I came here, escaping the station, but this was different.

I didn't know what was going on, neither did I expect what I was about to see behind the door.
