Yuan Youwei felt a sense of smugness in her heart. As long as she could pull Ji Mingyue onto her side, based on Han Liâs behavior over the past half month, he was unlikely to act against either of them easily, which would allow them to maintain their Primordial Yin Bodies. If she were alone, she would be isolated and vulnerable, which didnât seem very safe.
Unfortunately, Yuan Youwei was mistaken; she didnât understand Han Li at all. Most of his behavior during these days was a façade, and her actions would only exhaust his last bit of patience, ultimately causing more harm than good.
But Yuan Youwei didnât know this.
Every word Yuan Youwei spoke was like a hammer, striking hard against Ji Mingyueâs resolve and turning her face pale with uncertainty.
Seeing Yuan Youweiâs cold and peerlessly graceful silhouette, Ji Mingyueâs delicate lips were tightly pursed, and she remained silent, her heart torn in an internal struggle.
Taking a deep breath, Ji Mingyue spoke again, her voice heavy with inquiry, âYuan Youwei, what if Han Li isnât as you expect?â
âWhat youâre doing is bound to enrage Han Li. When that happens, weâll meet a terrible end. Do you really think we can last until something happens at Chengsheng Mountain?â
Ji Mingyue understood exactly what Yuan Youwei was thinking, but she dared not agree. Yuan Youweiâs approach was too risky.
Yuan Youwei seemed to have forgotten that Han Li was a daring man. If he had the audacity to defile the divided souls of the Empress Yuanchu and the Empress of the Huangyue Imperial Empire, how could they possibly escape the Devilâs Palm of Han Li?
Ji Mingyue didnât believe that Han Li was a gentleman; his demeanor these past days had merely been an act.
If Han Li imposed himself on them, they would still be forced to lose themselves to him and fall into his hands. To think that they could still preserve their virtue was as unrealistic as daydreaming.
Based on what Han Li had implied over the past half month, there was a difference in the outcome between submitting willingly or being coerced.
Agreeing to marry Han Li willingly, with their status, cultivation, and beauty, they would be his Cultivator partners with esteemed standing on Chengsheng Mountain; if forced, it was questionable whether they could become his partners at all.
The term âCultivator partnerâ signified oneâs status on Chengsheng Mountain and entitled one to cultivation resources and privileges.
The reason why Ji Mingyue was wavering and no longer insisted on her own opinion was that she saw the truth of the matter. After all, she was only at the mid-stage of the Heavenly Immortal realm, and in terms of combat ability, Han Li was not much weaker than her. Becoming Han Liâs partner wouldnât be disgraceful.
Otherwise, if they were forced and lost their honor, their circumstances would be miserable. By the time White Emperor City, Yuanchu Mountain, and the Huangyue Imperial Empire came to their rescue, they would have lost everything.
They would not only have lost their virtue by then, but they might also be stripped of their cultivation or even killed outright. Even if Chengsheng Mountain were destroyed, it would be of no use to Ji Mingyue, making it utterly worthless.
âDare he?â Yuan Youwei said lightly, seemingly confident.
She was a Quasi Emperor, a future Empress of the Heaven Imperial Realm. To be forced to marry a mere first-level Cultivator of the Tongxuan Realm would be too humiliating. Yuan Youweiâs pride wouldnât allow it.
If Han Li only had her as a partner, or just her, Zimiao Zhen, and Ji Mingyue, Yuan Youwei could reluctantly agree. But Han Li had too many wives and concubines, which she couldnât accept.
Yuan Youwei was certain that Han Li wouldnât dare kill her, for it would immediately reveal what was occurring on Chengsheng Mountain, and Han Li was far from a match for Empress Yuanchu.
She believed that if she used some strategies, she could ensure that Han Li wouldnât dare act against her forcefully, preventing her from being forced to lose her virtue.
Ji Mingyue opened her mouth to speak, hesitant, wanting to say that Han Li might really dare, but ultimately she remained silent.
What Yuan Youwei was willing to accept didnât necessarily align with Ji Mingyueâs wishes.
âJi Mingyue, think carefully about it. Donât make any foolish decisions,â Yuan Youwei turned, looked at the conflicted Ji Mingyue, lightly caressed her stunning face with her hand, and left.
Silently watching Yuan Youwei leave, Ji Mingyue glanced at the sea of clouds before departing back to her own quarters, wanting some peace and quiet.
Chengdao Peak, Qiandao Hall.
Han Li was discussing the Dao with Zimiao Zhen, exploring the great avenues of life and researching the lesser paths among the trees. For a time, it was like flowers cascading from the sky and golden lotuses springing from the ground, with a ceaseless harmony of divine music.
Han Li also devoted some of his divine sense to monitor Cloud View Terrace, listening clearly to the conversation between Ji Mingyue and Yuan Youwei. He made no comment, saving his thoughts for another day.
Withdrawing his Divine Sense, Han Li then wrapped his arms tightly around the beautiful Zimiao Zhen, fully engrossed.
In an instant, Zimiao Zhenâs eyes glazed over, seductive and affectionate beneath her dancing purple hair.
At some point, the Supreme Grade glazed jade mirror lifted to show a human figure.
â¦..
The next day, Han Li arrived alone at Cloud View Terrace, with Ji Mingyue and Yuan Youwei arriving punctually as well.
Han Liâs hands rested on the balustrade, gazing into the distance at the sunrise, waiting for the first ray of sunlight to break through the perpetual night, inhaling the morning glow and purple mist as it entered his mouth.
Only then did Han Li turn around to look over Ji Mingyue and Yuan Youwei.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Ji Mingyue had removed her veil, revealing her exquisite beauty to Han Li, a gesture that seemed to indicate her stance.
Yuan Youwei, still veiled, remained aloof, her face stern as if Han Li owed her ten Heavenly Immortal Weapons. Her arms were crossed over her chest in an attempt to look down on Han Li.
âJi Mingyue, Yuan Youwei, have you two made your decision?â Han Li asked with a smile on his lips.
Yuan Youwei looked towards Ji Mingyue, subtly shaking her head, but Ji Mingyue ignored Yuan Youweiâs hint and said indifferently, âI am willing to be your Cultivator partner.â
