Chapter 967

Nora responded and looked at the person welcoming Trueman. She asked, “Where is the kitchen?”.

The person looked at Trueman and then at Nora before saying, “Follow me.”

The entire building appeared to be owned by Trueman. Nora followed the man into the kitchen. As soon as she entered, she heard a clear voice. “Is the young master here? I will cook for him immediately.”

Before she could finish, the person replied, “No, you come out!”.

The chef turned around with a shocked expression.

His face was dark, as if he had been tanned somewhere. She had small eyes and a big face. She didn’t come out even when she was told to leave. He asked, “Why?”

The man who brought Nora in was named Harry. He was the boss when Trueman was gone. When he heard her, he spat. “What do you mean, why? I told you to get out, so get out! The young master wants to eat the food made by this person! Hurry up and get out.”

The chef looked unhappy. “Fine, I’ll go out! Why are you talking to me like that! I was specially invited by the Young Master to cook! Every time the Young Master comes, he eats food cooked by me, is his cooking that good?”

The chef looked at Nora suspiciously.

Nora didn’t care. She thought about it and suddenly said, “Then go cook for Xander.”

The chef was puzzled. “Who is Xander?”

Nora: “…My son.”

Harry had seen Xander, of course. When Nora entered the kitchen, Xander wanted to follow her, but his little head was spinning after traveling for two days straight. He was already tired.

So, Nora had Harry carry Xander upstairs to the bed to rest.

On the way to the kitchen, he had already seen about seven or eight people in that dilapidated building, but they were all burly men. Finally he came across a woman in the kitchen….

In addition, Nora had also asked Harry. She knew that, apart from the chef, no one else knew how to cook, so she asked the chef to cook for Xander.

As for what she could cook… ahem.

Nora didn’t comment.

The chef still wanted to say something, but Harry waved his hand. “This kitchen is for cooking for the Young Master. Go to the small kitchen next door.”

The chef went to the small kitchen. Nora rolled up her sleeves and prepared to cook.

However, when she turned around, she saw Trueman standing in the doorway staring at her. Nora raised her eyebrows and asked, “Why are you here?”

“I was afraid you were going to poison me.”

Although Nora really wanted to poison him, he had brought the scanner from who knows where to check his entire body from head to toe before confiscating all the weapons and poisons he was carrying.

She really was incapable of poisoning him even if she wanted to.

He ignored Trueman and picked up the steak next to him. “Shall I cook you a steak? It’s the most common dish I ate overseas.”

Trueman knew that.

After all, for many years he had been sending people to watch Nora’s every move.

Trueman nodded. He watched Nora throw the steak into the pan and light the fire.

Nora seared the steak with familiarity. Trueman walked behind her and asked, “Have you cooked steak for Justin before?”.

Nora: “?”

She looked at the corner of his lips. “No.”

Trueman’s eyes lit up as a smile appeared on his face.

Five minutes later, Nora moved the steak from the pan to the plate and handed it to Trueman.

Trueman praised, “Little maid, now you know how to properly serve your master. Not bad. It looks like I haven’t instructed you in vain…. This improvement is really good!”

As she said this, she saw Nora swallow; she seemed to have smelled the delicious aroma.

He thought about how they had been eating and drinking on the road these past two days. So that Old King wouldn’t find their tracks, they had been surviving in a desperate way.

He had not eaten well. All he could take was bread and water.

When they were about to reach their destination, there wasn’t much bread left, so he simply gave it all to Xander. He and Nora had gone twelve hours without food.

Trueman cut his steak in two and popped half into Nora’s mouth. “You eat first.”
