“What’s wrong?”

Queenie and Justin were playing with Cherry and Pete when they saw Nora running scared out of Xander’s room and hurrying to Queenie’s bedroom, so they hurriedly ran to ask.

Queenie immediately noticed that the cooler with the V16, which was supposed to be hidden in a secret location, was gone. Suddenly realizing something, she frowned and asked, “Where is the other V16?”.

In order to keep the two V16s safe with them, Queenie had placed the two there.

In the end, Nora, who had set everything up, had taken one and left the other. However, the one that had been left behind had disappeared!

Queenie suddenly realized something and immediately shouted, “There’s a thief among us! John! Check who came into my room today…”

“No need to check.”

Nora reached out and stopped Queenie. A hint of remorse flashed in her eyes as she said, “It was Xander.”

Queenie was surprised. “Xander?”

Nora nodded.

Guilt filled Nora.

Since Xander had been back with them, knowing that the boy hadn’t had his parents with him since birth and was consequently very sensitive, she hadn’t dared bring up the subject of Trueman in front of him.

Since Xander had grown up under Trueman’s care, much of his mentality and moral compass were wrong.

Although he had a good heart, it was inevitable that it would affect him to some extent. However, neither Nora nor Justin had done anything about it; after all, these things were not something that could be corrected so quickly.

They had to be more patient with Xander.

But in the wake of that, Justin had faked his death and slipped away to secretly investigate the mysterious organization while Nora had been busy taking on Trueman and Barbarian. Looking back on it, since Xander’s return, she and Justin had not done their parental duty at all.

For the sake of getting the V16, and for the sake of saving his life, they had overlooked the most crucial thing they should have done: spend time with him.

His eyes reddened.

It was at that moment that Trueman’s voice came again from the phone. “Nora, have you won?”

Won?

Nora had concocted an elaborate plan, defeated Barbarian and trapped Spacey; but in the end, she still ended up being tricked by Trueman. She hadn’t thought Trueman would use Xander like this!

She took a deep breath. Trueman’s voice suddenly became suddenly sharp as he said, “I told you not to give the V16 to Queenie, but you just had to! Now that there’s only one V16 left, what are you going to do?”.

What was I going to do…. Nora clenched her fists. “What do you want?”

Trueman had already gotten the V16. In fact, Xander was even in his hands at that point. He could have injected the V16 immediately instead of calling her to provoke her over and over again.

Trueman must have wanted something.

As she was thinking about it, Trueman said, “I want you – and only you – to do what I say now. My little maid, you’re going to be joining us very soon. I think Xander will be glad to hear this too, don’t you?”

As soon as she said that, Xander’s voice broke out. “Mom, don’t come! Daddy won’t hurt me.”

But he had only half spoken when Trueman covered his mouth. “Mm…!”

Nora hastened to say, “All right, I’ll do anything you say!”

“Get in the car outside your house now.”

The car outside her house….

Nora turned around abruptly and started walking toward the door without hesitation. She had only taken two steps when she felt someone following her from behind. Before Nora could say anything, Trueman laughed and said, “I definitely won’t give you the V16, but if you don’t want anything to happen to Xander, I expect you to refrain from taking anyone with you. No one at all, you understand?”
