Nora wore her hair tied tightly at the nape of her neck.
Her face was covered in gray camouflage paint and the camouflage print suit she wore looked stylish and well-fitted. Paired with her military boots, it was a stylish and brave look.
At the sight of Nora, Queenieâs pupils shrank. Stunned, she asked, âYouâ¦. Why are you here?â
Nora lowered her gaze. âYou may have underestimated Black Catâs status in the industry.â
Black Cat was the best assassin in the world. Every organization, no matter which one, showed her respect. When Nora realized that Queenie had left alone, she was absolutely certain that she would hire security services.
The bodyguards hired at the last minute were unprofessional and unreliable. Their combat skills were not as reliable as those of professional hitmen and mercenaries. Moreover, mercenaries only did what they were paid for and never betrayed their employers.
Thus, Nora had used the identity of Black Cat to immediately contact all organizations.
In the end, Queenie chose a mercenary group affiliated with the League of Hitmen.
The League of Hitmen and the Assassins Alliance were rivals and competitors. That may be why Queenie chose them, to prevent Nora from getting her location through the Assassins Alliance.
But unexpectedlyâ¦
Was the League of Assassins showing that much respect to Black Cat?
Queenie frowned. âIsnât the League of Assassins on hostile terms with you?â.
âWeâre not on hostile terms; weâre just competitors. Besides, I did them a small favor in the past.â
Nora replied impassively and then looked straight ahead. Many years ago, the League of Hitmen had been given a difficult job. They sent several assassins for the job, but they all returned unsuccessful. If the news had spread, the Hitmenâs League would have ended up totally embarrassed.
Their former boss then came up with an idea and decided to engage the services of Black Cat, who belonged to the Assassinsâ Alliance, for the job.
To be honest, she had only made a last-ditch effort. He never imagined that Black Cat would actually accept him.
At the time, he thought that Black Cat just wanted money and that he had not recognized them. But when Black Cat took only two hours to complete the job that they had failed to do even after two weeks, and also managed to discover his identity, his former boss decided to offer extra money so that Black Cat would not reveal the truth about the job to others.
At that time, the competition between the two organizations was fierce, and whenever either of them received a difficult job, it was secretly showcased within the industry.
But, unexpectedly, Black Cat refused the extra money.
He even said the job was only worth the price initially agreed upon.
Thinking it was a conspiracy by the Assassinâs Alliance, the old boss was convinced at that point that they were finished. With Black Cat easily solving the problem they couldnât, he had practically become a walking advertisement!
Unexpectedly, however, the outcome he was worried about did not occur.
Black Cat never told anyone that he had accepted that job.
Because of this, everyone in the League of Hitmen-including Abbott, who had carried out the mission with Nora the other time-respected Black Cat very much, even if they didnât like Nora.
So when Nora used Black Catâs account to ask them for help, members of the League of Hitmen immediately came to her the moment Queenie approached them.
Abbott even sent several messages to Nora:
âHey Black Cat, do you know that the Assassinâs Alliance took advantage of your fame and found someone who impersonated you and acted as the Queenâs bodyguard for three days? Theyâre too over the top! The doors of the League of Assassins are always open to you.â
Nora: ââ¦â
She completely ignored Abbott. In fact, she didnât even look at the text messages he sent her afterwards. Instead, she rushed over immediately after receiving the news about Queenie.
After hearing Noraâs response, Queenie was silent for a while. Finally, she hung her head and asked, âAre you here to catch me and take me back?â
âNo.â
Nora looked straight ahead. Suddenly, her eyes reddened and she said, âIâm only here to accompany you on this journey.â
This journey that could possibly be your last.
Queenie was stunned. Then, she sighed and asked, âHave you figured it out?â
âYes.â
Noraâs voice was still low, but her voice was firm. She said, âAunt Queenie, I trust you. You must have your reasons for doing this. Now, Iâd like to hear your explanation.â
