Barbarian was infuriated.
He and Spacey had already agreed that they would each take a gene serum after getting their hands on it.
He angrily demanded, âHow can you be so selfish?â.
As soon as he spoke, the Queen, who was watching the show off to the side, was stunned.
The Queen looked at him in surprise. âBarbarian, what are you saying?â.
Wasnât it just a case of a Schmidt nanny stealing from her employer? How did she relate to Barbarian?
The moment the Queen spoke, Barbarianla looked on, though she didnât speak immediately.
The trapped Reneâ¦no, Spacey sneered, âSelfish? The selfish one is you! If you hadnât left a moment ago, we would have each had a genetic serum! Without you, I definitely wouldnât have been able to escape, so of course I had to use a plan B!â.
The Barbarianâs eyebrows drew together. âYou said we were both in this together! That we would never abandon or give up on each other, no matter what!â
âHa!â Spacey, showing a stark contrast to his previous timid demeanor, lifted his head and laughed. âYou ditched me first! For your Queenâs sake, you ditched me! But look what happened⦠Your Queen didnât need you at all! Sheâs there all nice and intact while Iâm stuck here!â
Spacey glared at Barbarian angrily. âThe Queen has always been the only one in your heart! Youâve never cared about me!â
Barbarian was taken aback. âWhat nonsense are you talking?â
âAm I wrong!â Spacey glared at Barbarian resentfully. âWe had already agreed that we would come to the Schmidtâs today to steal the V16, but for the sake of your Queen, you reneged on our plan. You forced this on me.â
Barbarian was speechless in an instant.
However, the Queen, who was standing next to Barbarian, was stunned. She slowly turned her head towards Barbarian and asked, âBarbarian, what are you talking about, are the two of you in this together, do you need money, why are you robbing the others with her?â
The Queen knew nothing of Barbarianâs past.
All she knew was that after saving him back then, she had discovered that Barbarian had immense talent in martial arts. Thus, she had found someone to teach him martial arts and trained him to become her strongest personal protection officer and bodyguard.
Earlier, Barbarian had also asked for a leave of absence and left halfway through. Sometimes, when she stayed in the country and did not leave the palace, as if to be absolutely sure, he would ask for half a monthâs leave. The Queen had always thought that Barbarian went out to attend to his personal affairs. In fact, the Queen had even once teased Barbarian by asking him if he had found a girlfriend and went out with herâ¦.
I would never have thought that Barbarian would steal from the Schmidtâs with that nanny!
At the Queenâs ânaiveâ question, Barbarian was speechless.
The Queen looked at Spacey again. She pointed at her and asked Barbarian, âIs that the girlfriend you found outside? Barbarian, why does your girlfriend force you to steal? Isnât the salary I pay you enough? Iâve also given you a house before. If you need anything else, you can tell me. There is no need for you to stealâ¦â.
The Queen rambled on and on, but her actions were the only source of warmth at the moment.
In the face of the Queen acting like this, Barbarian didnât know how to explain what he had doneâ¦.
He did not speak, but Brenda spoke for him. She said, âYour Majesty, I may have misunderstood something. Are you aware that this man standing next to you is an international serial killer?â
As soon as she spoke, the Queen frowned. âWho are you, why are you slandering Barbarian? He was just stealing something, how does that make him a murderer?â
She stepped in front of Barbarian and shielded him. He looked directly at Nora and Queenie, then raised his chin arrogantly. âMadame Schmidt, Miss Smith. We have some ties between us, donât we? I know youâre unhappy because youâve been robbed, so how about this, how much does it cost? The British Royal Family will provide full compensation! But donât you dare accuse my subject of being a murderer and so on!â
His way of protecting his own left everyone present speechless for a moment.
Barbarian also clenched his fists tightly. Once again, he felt ashamed of himself.
Nora was a woman of few words, but Queenie had no desire for conflict with the British Royal Family.
After all, the Queen represented an entire country. Whether it was the Schmidtâs or the Imperial League, neither of them would want to antagonize a country just because of a misunderstanding.
Queenie explained, âYour Majesty, have you heard of the mysterious organization?â
The Queenâs pupils shrank. âYes, I have, what about it?â
The people who haunted the Queenâs life at the hotel the other time were exactly from that organization.
The Queen had always known it.
Queenie pointed to Barbarian. âHe was a member of the mysterious organization.â
The Queen was surprised. âWhat did you say?â
Queenie continued. âBesides, you should know what the mysterious organization does for a living, shouldnât you?â
The Queenâs eyebrows drew together. âNo, I really donât.â
A resigned Queenie could only explain to the Queen the purpose of the mysterious organizationâs existence, as well as its cruel practices.
Two minutes later, when Queenie finished, the Queen frowned and said, âIf so, then Barbarian is also a victim! He shouldnât be arrested! Besides, heâs already betrayed the mysterious organization!â
âBut heâs an international assassin!â Nora said coolly.
âA murderer? Do you have any proof? If so, you can contact the UK government and ask for our cooperation to hand over Barbarian instead of arresting him here! Without proof, I will never hand over Barbarian!â
The Queen was quite attached to Barbarian.
It was a very fascinating emotion.
It was like an affection for something that had been around for a long time. After more than ten years, she had long since grown accustomed to Barbarlian protecting and caring for her. She stood in front of Barbarian and protected him, just as Barbarian had done for her whenever she was in danger. She even thought this was all a conspiracy the others had devised.
After allâ¦
The Queen looked at Nora. âThe V16 or whatever itâs called is with you, right? Are you trying to use this as an excuse to get rid of Barbarian? This way, no one would fight you over him anymore! But for you to use lies like that, youâre a great conspirator!â
At that moment, the masked Justin said solemnly, âYour Majesty, theyâre not using lies.â
His words made the Queen suddenly look at him.
At this instant, she suddenly realized that Justin was also aware of all this. Therefore, it was not only Nora who had set this trap for her; it was Justin too!
The Queen felt betrayed.
She was at the Schmidtâs house just for a visit as a guest, but that group had been plotting against her.
The smile on her face disappeared completely, then she revealed a cold and determined side of herself. She said, âSo youâre part of this too, King? Ah. But do you really think we Brits are that easy to intimidate? Iâve already said it: Barbarian is mine. If you have no conclusive proof, then you can forget about taking him from me. Since I have brought him to the Schmidts, then I will leave this place with him safe and sound! This is true even if⦠I must make an enemy of the Schmidts and the Imperial League! We British are not afraid!â
She had pride.
As Queen, she had never been afraid of anyone.
Justin sighed. âHe is not a good man.â
Despite that, the Queen still said firmly, âNot a good man? Barbarian has always been very kind when he protects me. He never kills the innocent indiscriminately, And heâs never come to me with a little blood! He doesnât like to talk, But I know heâs a kind person!â
A kind personâ¦.
His words stunned Barbarian, whom he was protecting behind himself.
To be honest, the reason he cleaned himself thoroughly every time he killed someone was precisely because of the Queenâs trust in him.
The Queen had blue eyes as pure as clear water.
Although the Queen was arrogant and always behaved as if she was on high, she had the purest heart despite her noble status. Therefore, Barbarian was very afraid that the Queen would find out about her activitiesâ¦.
Therefore, he had never left any trace outside that would point to his being the Queenâs bodyguard, fearing that the matter would reach the Queenâs ears.
But as he looked at the Queen, who was standing in front of him and leaving her back exposed to him confidently, he suddenly felt that he was not worthy.
He was not worthy to be protected by such a good Queen.
He wasnât worthy to have the Queen antagonize the Schmidt and the Imperial League because of him.
Just as Barbarian was about to speak, Brenda curved her lips and said, âYouâre the Queen, arenât you, why are you so clumsy? Luckily, my sister-in-law knows about your personality, So she told me to bring all the evidence here!â
After speaking, Brenda took out a bunch of paper evidence from her bag and held out her hand to hand it to the Queen. She said, âThese are all the people Barbarian has killed over the years! Heâ¦â.
However, before he could finish, Barbarian suddenly moved! He came out from behind the Queen at high speed and threw a punch at Brenda.
Brenda took two steps back abruptly and the documents in her hands fell and scattered on the floor.
The Queen looked down at the floorâ¦
Next door, both Nora and Justin thought that Barbarian was planning to take Brenda hostage because he was cornered, so they unconsciously stepped in front of Brenda to protect her and waited for Barbarian to attack.
Unexpectedly, Barbarian did not rush. Instead, he stopped in front of the Queen.
He stepped into the supposed ordeal and blocked the Queenâs line of sight. âDonât look!â
His voice was full of panic, just like a child crying for help. He was afraid that the Queen would see the evidence, he was afraid to see the disappointment in the Queenâs eyesâ¦.
Her tone made the Queenâs heart tear, and she withdrew her gaze. âAlright, I wonât lookâ¦â
Barbarian let out a sigh of relief.
But right after letting out the sigh of relief, the Queen asked, âSo tell me, are they telling the truth? Did you really⦠kill a lot of people?â
Barbarian clenched his jaw.
The Queen stared at him. âYou have never lied to me. Then tell me none of this is true. Donât worry, Iâll protect you.â Barbarianâs expression darkened for a moment.
He suddenly thought of their first meeting, more than ten years ago.
âYou can live here with peace of mind! I will protect you.â
Said the young Princess to the boy who had just escaped from his confinement with wounds all over. The boy curled up and did his best to cower so that his dirty body would not touch the pure and clean dress of the Princess. He was afraid of soiling the angel.
The Princess, however, sat next to him, not caring in the least. Her skirt pressed against his bare feet and stained. Her big blue eyes looked up at him as she said, âOh, but you have to promise never to lie to me.â
