Lawrence stood in front of the car door and waited silently for it to open.
Finally, the two people inside stopped what they were doing and calmed down.
A while later, the car door finally opened and the female bodyguard stepped out. However, she had put the Black Cat mask back on, making it impossible for anyone to see what she looked like.
Lawrence looked at her fiercely and then looked at the man in the car. However, even after a while, the man inside did not move. He couldnât help but shout hesitantly, âBoss?â.
Only then did the man in the car move. He put on his jacket and came out with his mask on.
However, everyone could see that underneath Mr. Kingâs blazer, his shirt had been torn!
In addition, his blazer was also wrinkled and it was obvious at first glance that he had been outraged. Everyone immediately lowered their heads and pretended not to have seen anything.
The men sent by Clifford looked at each other and immediately informed Clifford of the news.
Unable to wait any longer, the anxious Mr. King had done this and that to Black Cat in the same car. Moreover, judging by how Black Catâs clothes were barely disheveled while Mr. Kingâs were a messâ¦. It turned out that Mr. King didnât shy away from women; he just had no interest in ordinary people and liked wild ones like Black Cat, that was all!
He preferred not to be the one in the lead!
Even Lawrence couldnât stand that image. However, his eyes, as he looked at Nora, became even more filled with sorrow.
He couldnât help but look at Justin. With his voice low, he asked, âBoss, how⦠how can you let him tear your clothes apart like that? Didnât you put up any resistance?â
â⦠I did,â Justin replied.
âThen how come she stillâ¦?â Lawrence didnât dare say the rest. Since he had been outraged despite putting up resistance, it went without saying that his attempt at resistance must have failed!
Heavens, was that assassin known as Black Cat really that fierce?
Just as this thought formed in his mind, he saw the person walking ahead suddenly stop and look back. The moment she looked back at him, Lawrence ducked behind Sean in an instant, too scared to continue defending Nora.
Even the Chief had been no match for her. Miss Smith, I can only offer you my condolences.
Nora glanced around the place and found that it was a private mansion, probably owned by King in Switzerland. Although it was not as large as Queenieâs castle, as she casually looked around, she realized that the security measures here were excellent. The armed forces stationed here were also immensely strong.
It would be impossible for anyone to successfully invade unless they had thousands of people.
She looked at Justin, and the man approached her. He asked, âWhat would you like for dinner?â
âBeef Wellington.â
Justin: â?â
For some reason, he suddenly remembered that the Queen had been eating Veal Wellington earlier in the evening. This⦠had to be⦠seemed to be⦠and probably was⦠a coincidence, wasnât it?
He coughed, then said with a shake of his head, âVery well, Iâll have it prepared right away. It takes a while to cook, though, so youâll have to wait a bit.â
Nora stayed where she was. Behind her mask, her feline eyes looked at him in a seemingly amused manner, and she seemed to raise her eyebrows as she replied, âUh-huh, Iâm honored to wait for you.â
Justin: â?â
He didnât notice anything for a while.
The two walked into the living room. Nora went straight to the couch and took a seat, while Justin went to the bedroom and put on his nightclothes. But when he came back out, he saw that Nora was staring at him, so he asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
Nora replied, âNothing much. Iâm just watching how youâre still as radiant as ever and how time doesnât move for you at all.â
At the thought of her missing him, joy welled up in Justin. But the next moment, he realized something: Why did those words of hers sound a little familiar?
He suddenly remembered his exchange with the Queen when he had met with her earlier in the day:
âLord King is as charming as ever.â
âHis Majesty is also as radiant as ever.â
âReally? I thought he had aged since we last met three years ago.â
âNot at all. It seems that time does not move for you, Your Majestyâ.
â⦠I wonder who is more beautiful, me or your betrothed?â.
âYou have a greater presence, Your Majestyâ.
â¦
The corners of his lips tightened slightly. âThatâs⦠âNora, I was just being polite to her. Donât take it seriously. Iâ¦â
âI understand. You saw that the Queen has a bigger presence, so you needed to be polite to her, of course.â
Justin: â!â
At the time, he had truly believed that she didnât understand Welsh. That was why he had tried to flatter the Queen to make it easier for him to convince her to allow him to bring more men to the palace.
In fact, Justin and the Queen had spent three months together at school. He knew the Queen very well. She was a proud woman who liked to be praised and complimented.
And, of course, wasnât it because he had praised the Queen that he was accessible enough for her to allow him to bring a total of 40 men to the palace?
But who knew that Nora could understand what he had said? It was all over! The backyard was on fire!
Justin panicked. He wanted to explain, but he didnât know how to do it. Just then, he saw the girl sitting on the couch blink and suddenly burst out laughing.
Realizing that she was only joking and wasnât really mad at him, Justin sighed in relief.
Why would Nora care about something like that?
She had never cared about superficial things. She just wanted to⦠tease him.
After all, influence over him wasnât easyâ¦.
But after she spoke, she straightened her expression and said, âCome on, tell me, what are you going to the Royal Palace for?â
