Seeing her determined eyes, a brief silence later, Justin finally told her the truth. âA few days ago, the mysterious organization sent their men here.â
Noraâs eyes narrowed immediately.
True enough.
It had always been said that the mysterious organization was extremely powerful. Even in the United States, when Nora and Justin had wanted to catch them, they had been as elusive as eels and had withdrawn all their men there.
Nora had only an idea of how strong Barbarian was; she had not yet come into direct contact with the armed forces of the mysterious organization.
When Barbarian arrived to steal the V16 at Staav University, Brendaâs men had surrounded the school. Despite that, Trueman had continued to send a weakling like Caleb.
Although Caleb had lent him a hand at the last moment, the fact was that during the entire fight for the genetic serum, the armed forces of the mysterious organization had not appeared even once!
He had wondered why things had gone so well. It turned out that Justin had repelled the mysterious organizationâs attacks for her.
She looked at the man in front of her.
Back in the United States, he had single-handedly contained Barbarian, thrown the gene serum clue to him, and then faked his death to direct all conflict at Barbarian.
This had made Barbarian everyoneâs target.
After that, while everyone kept their eyes on Barbarian, thinking he had gotten the gene serum, she had snuck into the university and retrieved the real gene serum.
She hadnât made an appearance then either.
Later, Queenie had even complained that he had disappeared and left her and the children alone.
She thought he was busy or hurt, but it turned out he had gone to remove all remaining obstacles for her.
The man was no weaker than she was, and he even had two helpers, Lawrence and Sean, at his side. Like King, she believed he even had his own armed forces. Yet despite all that, she had nearly been shot in the heart by the mysterious organization.
Nora didnât even need to dig into the details to imagine how dangerous it must have been.
Seeing that she had fallen silent, Justin said, âUmâ¦. actually, Iâ¦â
âYou donât need to say anything else.â Nora interrupted him. She checked the wound and found that the operation had been very successful. Even if she were the one to perform the operation, all she would have gotten would have been a prettier suture and nothing more. She began rummaging through her bag.
Like Black Cat, he had been carrying a backpack on his back the whole time.
Justin watched as the girl almost poked her head all the way to the bottom of the backpack as she rummaged through it with both hands. The edges of the backpack pushed her hair back, causing a few strands of hair to stand up messily, giving her a rather adorable look.
The warmth in his eyes increased.
Since becoming King, it had become a fact of life that he would have to go through dangerous situations over and over again.
Injuries were also commonplace. In the past, every time he got injured, he felt lost and wondered what he was doing all this for. But now, it seemed he had found his purpose in life.
He knew he wasnât a fragile flower, of course. That was why, in America, he had dared to fake his death and sneak away so decisively. She had also left him to the Hunts quietly, without even addressing a word to him.
She had certainly lived up to his expectations and helped him protect the family.
Outside the United States, he had led his men to combat the attacks of the mysterious organization, but in reality, how could he ignore the danger she was exposed to at the university?
Despite this, he did not see her as someone who needed protection, but saw her as his comrade-in-arms and the other half of his life.
They joined forces to protect their three children, and watching over them as they grew up seemed to have given his life meaning.
While he was thinking, Nora found the medicine she needed.
Since Nora had to lead the team in security duty, she had specially brought some medical supplies, so that it would be more convenient if she needed to treat any injuries. At the hotel, a fire had broken out on the upper floors. When the men on the lower floors had besieged the two assailants, they had suffered no injuries, so the supplies had been left intact.
He cleaned Justinâs wound with a saline solution and then checked his sutures. After applying a salve to the wound, he gently dressed the wound once more.
Since the wound was on his chest, the womanâs head lowered as her hands ran down Justinâs torso again and again.
Justin could see the top of the girlâs head. A few strands of her hair brushed his skin, tickling him. He wanted to reach out and fix her hair, help her straighten the two strands of hair that stood up on top of her head.
But as soon as he moved a little, the girl told him fiercely, âDonât move.â
He could only maintain the same posture.
By then, the car had arrived at Justinâs residence. When the car stopped, Lawrence hurried over. Although the car windows were covered with black film that prevented people outside from looking in, when Lawrence leaned close, he was still able to spy two vague silhouettes.
Thatâs when he saw the female silhouette pressing right up against the chest of the male silhouette. Not only was she moving up and down, but she even coldly commanded, âDonât move.â
Lawrence: â!!!!â
Was that female bodyguard into such habits?
No wonder her boss was overwhelmed! It was over, it was all over! Miss Smith had been completely defeated!
He would be sure to see who that woman was who was seducing his boss!
