Nora drove to the castle where Queenie lived.
Over the years, NTT had become the largest company in Switzerland after being founded by Queenie. She also liked to live a luxurious lifestyle, so she had built a castle in the countryside.
The castle was an impregnable fortress. Even if Barbarian knew they were here, unless he dropped a nuclear bomb on the castle, it was impossible for him to blow the place up.
All the architecture he saw along the way as he drove was European style, the castle was beautiful.
As soon as Noraâs car pulled up to the castle entrance, the huge iron gates opened automatically. There, John, the butler, greeted her in person. Seeing Nora, he said with a smile, âGood morning, Miss Nora.â
Nora nodded to John. However, she did not get out of the car, but continued driving into the castle.
It took more than ten minutes to get from the entrance to where Queenie lived, which showed how spacious the castle grounds were.
Finally, the car stopped in front of a villa. Nora had just parked the car when Cherry, Pete and Xander ran out of the villa.
Cherry hugged Nora and said, âMommy, Iâve missed you so much! Itâs only been a day, but it seemed like an eternity since I last saw you.â
Pete also held her hand and looked at her lovingly.
Nora took the opportunity to squat down and give Cherry a kiss. She also gave Pete a peck on the cheek. Peteâs cheeks were red and he was very happy.
Xander adopted a genial attitude and snorted derisively at the sight of the two childrenâs behavior. He commented, âThey still havenât weaned themselves off mommyâs milk, have they?â
But Nora grabbed him and kissed him on the cheek as well.
Xander immediately put on a disgusted expression. As he wiped the nonexistent saliva from his cheek, he said, âGross, donât you think thatâs gross?â
His eyes, however, sparkled.
At his young age, he had already learned to say one thing when he really meant another.
Nora tousled his hair and then led the three children into the villa.
Nora felt exceptionally relaxed, both physically and mentally.
Back then, after her aunt had taken her away, she had lived here for five years. This place was like her real home and it was also the first place that had given her a sense of security.
As she entered the living room, she looked at the woman sitting on the couch.
The woman was in her forties, but looked to be only in her thirties. When standing next to Nora, you would believe it even if you were told that the two were sisters.
She gave off a different vibe than Iris.
Iris was like a heavenly maiden, ethereal with an otherworldly beauty.
Queenie, however, was arrogant and flamboyant. Dressed in a red silk nightgown, she had scarlet painted fingernails and held a glass of red wine in her hand as she leaned against the couch. Her eyes were bright and mocking as she looked at Nora. âWow, did you remember to come home?â.
Nora smiled and sat down next to him. She took her arm and said, âHi, Aunt Queenie.â
Queenie snorted and said, âAnd here I thought youâd forgotten you still had an aunt in me. Now youâre something, arenât you? And to think you didnât come to me after you came to Switzerland, ha!â.
Nora: ââ¦â
Cherry ran over and hugged Queenieâs arm. She said, âDonât be mad at Mommy, Great Aunt Queenie! Mommy misses you so much, she just has a little work to do. She was afraid you wouldnât let her work if she came back, thatâs why she stayed somewhere else! Even though weâre not back, we still think of you every day~â
Queenie immediately put her arms around Cherry and gave her a kiss on the cheek. âOh my precious baby, why is your tongue so sweet?â
Cherry burst out laughing.
Nora also breathed a sigh of relief.
Her aunt had a bad temper, and when she got angry, it scared even her.
Back then, when she had given birth in the United States and nearly died, her aunt had returned to the country and then taken her abroad without a word. But after that, she had ignored her for half a year.
Nora and her aunt had been in touch since she was a child. Her aunt had even wanted to take her abroad when she became unexpectedly pregnant, but Nora had refused.
At the time, she had thought that staying in the country would be more comfortable, as there was no one to bother her.
This led to her nearly having a lethal complication that year.
After being angry with her for half a year, her aunt finally broke her silence and spoke to her only because Cherry was simply too adorable.
Pete and Xander stood to the side and looked at the great aunt they didnât know. After Queenie had her fill of kissing Cherry, who was in her arms, she finally asked, âBy the way, whereâs your Mr. Hunt, how come heâs not worried about leaving you here alone?â
Nora heaved a silent sigh and replied, âI donât know where heâs gone.â
Queenie snorted coldly and said, âAll these men! None of them can be trusted! Besides fighting with Barbarian, they even tried to steal your stuff, AND he didnât even show up! Whatâs the use of having a man like him? If you ask me, you should come to me instead!â
Nora smiled and replied, âThatâs exactly what I have in mind. Youâve got to keep your word, okay?â
Queenie choked. A moment later, she curved her lips and said, âForget it, your Mr. Hunt is not one to be trifled with.â
Her response, however, caused Nora to frown. She asked suddenly, âAunt Queenie, do you seem to know Justin? Who is he? How is it that even someone like you has admiration for him?â
âAdmiration? What nonsense! Come on, can you hold a conversation or not! Iâm reluctant to go against him just because things will become very troublesome if I mess with him! Do you think Iâm afraid of him?â
Queenie raised her glass of red wine and took a sip. Then she gave him a wink and said, âBut if you want to know, I can let you in on a secretâ¦â.
Queenie lifted her chin toward Nora.
Nora leaned in and put her ear close. Then, she said, âAunt Queenie, compared to Justin, Iâm more interested in your secrets.Who the the heck are you?â
