The sports car hummed along, the engine running at high speed.
But no matter how much Liam accelerated or overtook the other party, he couldnât shake Nora off.
Slowly, he began to panic.
His hands around the steering wheel were sweating and a cold sweat was creeping down his foreheadâ¦..
He looked back at Nora, only to see that the woman was still calmly beside him. She was evidently overtaking him at times and could easily block his path by moving horizontally, but nevertheless she was deliberately slowing down and falling in behind him.
It was like a cat that could clearly catch the mouse, but chose to taunt its prey by deliberately letting it escape and catching it again.
The look in the womanâs eyes when she looked at him also had a sense of determination to get what she wanted.
Liam felt even worse. He looked forward again and swallowed nervously.
His physical condition had always been poor and he was beginning to grope somewhat frantically despite having driven for such a short time. His legs had even weakened a bit from consecutively overtaking cars at high speed on the highway.
Creeak!
He slammed on the brakes and nearly collided with the car in front of him, while the car behind him also nearly collided with him. The driver behind was so angry that he cursed loudly at him as he passed.
However, Liam didnât have time to worry about that. Instead, he watched the big black jeep speeding past.
At first, he thought the jeep would speed away and not make it in time to slow down, but, unexpectedly, it came to a screeching halt once again only 300 feet away. The woman even had the ability to turn on her turn signals and stop the car on the shoulder.
Her calm and collected demeanor made Liam feel humbled.
He clenched his fists.
Suddenly, Liam lunged back into the car to start it. By then, however, Nora had already gotten out of the jeep and put a hand on the door. She stood there silently, like a big mountain, holding Liam back. She couldnât step on the accelerator for long.
Liam, who was shaking all over, mentally collapsed. Before Nora could speak, he shouted, âThe V16 is with me! Let me go and stop chasing me! Or else I will destroy it!â
Nora raised her eyebrows.
Seeing that she said nothing, Liam finally started the car. His car had only gone 600 feet when the jeep caught up with him again from behind.
Liam panicked. He angrily rolled down the window and shouted at Nora, âI told you not to come after me! Or Iâll destroy the V16.â
However, Nora ignored him and continued to follow him.
Barbarianâs voice also reached Liam through his earpiece.
âWhatâs going on, has she gone crazy, is she really not threatened by you?â Liam groaned, âWho the hell knows whatâs going on! Barbarian, where have you moved to, can you come over here and help me?â
Barbarian was silent. He replied, âI wonât be able to make it in time. As a precaution, Iâve planned a few hundred miles away. You are too far away, even if I get to you, it will take two or three hours⦠you have to calm down and stay calmâ¦â
âI canât!â Liam slammed the steering wheel furiously. âItâs driving me crazy!â
Barbarian : ââ¦â
Suddenly, Liam said, âIâve made up my mind, Iâll give you back one of the V16s. This way, he wonât chase me anymore!â.
His words instantly infuriated Barbarian. He said, âWho of us are you going to use it on if you only bring one!â.
Liam shouted, âI donât have the damn time to worry about you anymore! I just want to leave as soon as possible.â
Almost immediately after saying that, Liam suddenly took off the Bluetooth headset in his ear and threw it out the window.
The cars on the freeway were moving too fast, the headset was instantly crushed by the car behind it the moment it hit the ground.
Barbarianâs voice faded into the wireless networkâ¦.
Liam looked ahead: there was a bridge.
Suddenly, he drove the car onto it. Then, he parked it and stood on the edge of the bridge.
In barely ten seconds, Noraâs car stopped next to him. She stood a short distance away and watched him silently.
Liam, however, pulled out two serums and opened the lids. He pointed them at the bridge deck and said, âStay away, Nora, letâs make a deal! You let me go and you each get one of these two serums. But if you refuse to give me a way out, then Iâll empty both of them into the river!â.
