Then silence settled in the lab.

A few moments later, Oscar coughed, “What did you say, how can you be Anti, you’re Lisa! Oh, I know, what you mean is that you and Anti are not only from the same country, but also from the same medical school, so you and she are alike, right?”

Nora: “…”

Before she could speak, the others had already opened their mouths.

“That must be the case. If you were really Anti, why would you come as an exchange student here?”

“Ha, you are so ungrateful. Professor Epson gave you a great opportunity, and you don’t know how to appreciate it? Is it because you think Anti is great? Then why don’t you work on a project under her guidance? Besides, will she be able to complete the project?”

Hearing this, Nora replied, “She doesn’t because there is no way this project can be completed.”

Everyone responded angrily at once.

“How can it be impossible, we’re almost done!”

“In academia, there are no boundaries – you should look at which professor is better instead of working blindly behind closed doors!”

“Professor Epson, she’s so ungrateful that I think you’d better kick her out!”

As Epson listened to everyone around him, he looked back at Nora and sneered, “No, I should keep her here.”

All: “?”

Epson said to Nora, “You think Anti is great, don’t you, then I’ll prove to you that I’m better than her! I’ll also let you see with your own eyes whether this project will be completed successfully or not. I’ll prove that Anti is nothing! In terms of scientific research, we here at Staav University are the best. All right, don’t just stand here and talk. Split up and get to work!”

One by one, the rest of the students left the area around Epson. They all curved their lips in disdain at Nora and some even wagged a finger at her to express their contempt.

Oscar also tugged silently at Nora’s sleeve. “Even if you like Professor Anti, don’t talk about her again, okay?”.

Nora: “…”

This was so… she couldn’t leave even though she wanted to.

She asked, “Is there anything that needs to be checked in the file?”

She was still thinking about going to the archives to look for file #004.

Someone replied, “Yes, there is. I need you to go to the archives to look for file #102…”

But before I could finish, Epson scoffed and said, “No, no, she doesn’t have to do anything. She just has to witness our success.”

As soon as Epson said this, no one dared to assign her any more work.

The student who should have worked herself to exhaustion had now become a slacker.

Nora was silent for a while. Then she simply sat down in the seating area at the side.

She watched as Oscar busied himself here and there. Under his directions, she printed out documents and did things that would never come close to the basic content.

Soon it was noon.

At the teacher’s request, Oscar went out to buy lunch, but when he brought it back he found that Nora’s had not been included.

Oscar was very apologetic. “I didn’t know there was one less ration. They refuse to give you one…”

Nora didn’t bother. “Then I’ll go eat alone!”

She got up. As she was about to leave, Epson sneered, “You have to be back by 1 p.m.! Otherwise, I won’t give you any credit.”

Nora ignored him and walked out.

She wasn’t really an exchange student, so she had no need for credit.

After lunch in the cafeteria, she was about to return to the lab when she ran into Jack again. Seeing her, Jack stepped forward and said with a smile, “Lisa! What a coincidence! We meet again!”

Nora had a half smile on her face. “Yes, what a coincidence, indeed.”

Jack scratched his head. “Actually, it’s not a coincidence. I’ve been expecting you. I circled the cafeteria five times before I finally saw you.”

Nora: “?”

He sure was direct…

She narrowed her eyes and asked, “Why were you waiting for me?”.

Jack said, “I heard there’s a serial killer at the school, so I thought I’d protect you. Don’t be afraid, I can take you home.”

Nora raised her eyebrows, she hadn’t expected such an answer.

“How did you know about the serial killer?” She asked.

Jack laughed. “The whole school knows about it. Several SWAT cars have entered our campus and now there are SWAT officers patrolling all the entrances and exits.”

SWAT officers?

Did that mean Brenda was here too?

As he thought about it, his phone rang. When he put his head down and answered, he saw it was Solo.

“Hi Anti, I’m at the school gates but the place is very strict. They won’t let anyone in who doesn’t have a student ID, why, isn’t it free to enter the Staav University campus?”

“…I’ll pick you up at the gates.”

“No, you don’t have to.” He just sighed and said, “Just come to the SWAT team’s temporary detention room on campus.”

Nora: “?”

“Oh, they wouldn’t let me in just now, even when I insisted on it, so I stole someone’s student ID. They found out, so they brought me here.”

The corners of Nora’s lips twitched and she raised her eyebrows suddenly. “Okay, fine, I’ll be right there.”

She hung up the phone and calmly made her way to the detention room.

Outside the detention room.

Brenda glared at her subordinate and said, “Ha. Come on, I want to see who has the guts to speak so haughtily and say he’ll make sure we can’t use our network if we don’t let him go.”
