Nora just said the word “yes.” Wayne didn’t notice her voice.

Nora held her forehead.

She hadn’t expected to run into Wayne. This was really fate.

She hadn’t expected Wayne, who had returned to Staav University, to be in such a sorry state.

When Wilson heard this, he was perplexed. After a moment, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Wayne, you’re simply too shameless! Lisa is just a student, what can she help you with? She doesn’t even know what project you’re trying to accomplish. You’re making things difficult for her.”

Wayne blocked the door and refused to let Wilson out. He said, “She’s a student in my lab. Why do you care how I treat my students? Hey, Lisa, did you hear me?”

However, Wilson suddenly said, “I regret it. Lisa, you can come to my lab. I’ll see you. How about it?”

Wayne immediately cursed, “Wilson, you cheeky, didn’t you sign her over to me because you thought her grades were bad? You really have no scruples! Do you even want students with bad grades?”

When Wilson heard Wayne say this, he blushed. He knew that the counselor had definitely not told Wayne that Lisa had gotten the highest grade on the test. He said calmly, “No, Lisa is an excellent student. I definitely love her. Lisa, what do you think?”

Wayne couldn’t turn around. His back was pressed against the door. His head was so crooked that he could only see an indistinguishable figure in the distance. He couldn’t see details at all.

He shouted, “Lisa, don’t listen to their nonsense. We are all Americans. Our eyes fill with tears when we meet. You can’t betray me.”

Nora: “…”

Her almond eyes narrowed slightly as she listened to their conversation.

It seemed that Professor Wilson thought her results were bad, which was why he had sent her to Wayne.

She smiled and calmly replied, “Oh.”

Wayne became instantly petulant. “Did you hear that? I didn’t look down on her even when her results were bad. All of us Americans have a grateful heart. Wilson, why don’t you remember the time I helped you then, why do you have to come and ruin my project today?”

When Wilson heard Lisa say this, he shrugged. “I’m not helping investors, I’m helping you. Otherwise, if you cheat them and your bad reputation spreads, no one will invest in you when you start a new project. In fact, I can give you some of my projects. You can start them first. It’s better to look for investors after you have a reputation.”

Wayne scoffed. “How many do you want to give me? How generous of you to say that. Don’t forget that I was better than you then. My reputation was higher than yours.”

Wilson smiled. “Is that so? But you also said I was then. At today’s Staav University, who still remembers that there was a Professor Wayne in the School of Biomedicine? You’ve been doing business for so many years that you’ve long since ruined your reputation.”

Wayne’s eyes turned red as he heard this.

He was doing it to keep the promise he had made then.

That woman…she had died so tragically, how could he leave her alone?

He shook his head and dropped the thoughts from his mind. “Anyway, I don’t care. I have to work with this investor. Wilson, I won’t let you meet with them!”

He shouted again, “Lisa, hurry up and get into the lab to talk to them. There’s my business plan on the table. Take a look at it and read it to them…say good things…if they don’t invest all of it, investing a portion would be enough…”

As Wayne explained, Wilson smiled. “Heh, Royce is a professional investor. You think he doesn’t know about this?”

Wilson held out his hands. “All right, Wayne. I won’t go, but do you think Lisa will do any good if she gets into the lab? You don’t have a choice because Lisa is just an exchange student. She has no weight in this project.”

Wayne naturally understood.

However, in order not to let Wilson go out and cause trouble, he would have to keep him here.

Currently, there was only him and Lisa on the whole project. If Lisa went, what else could he do?

Wayne frowned, annoyed. He turned around and shouted again, “Lisa, hurry up. Don’t let the investors wait too long.”

“…Okay.”

After Nora agreed, he took two steps forward and headed for lab 706.

Wilson looked at Wayne and shook his head.

He held out his hands and pretended to look down on her. He pursed his lips and said, “Wayne, I’m looking forward to seeing a good show.”

Nora stood at the entrance to the lab.

She knew the person in the room was Royce, but when she thought about Wayne’s current state, she felt she had to help him.

After all, Wayne had fallen into that state because of Yvette.

Jeez.

He sighed and pushed open the door.

Inside the room.

The investor was staring at the door impatiently.

Someone said, “Hey, Professor Wilson sent me a message. He says that in Professor Myer’s lab there is only him and an American exchange student. He doesn’t have anyone important. How can he have the nerve to work on a project?”

The other person frowned and said, “Only two people? Besides, the plan is written out of order. You can tell at a glance that it was rushed. Don’t tell me Professor Myer did it alone?”

“Ah, no wonder Professor Myer didn’t call us even though he’s been gone for so long. He’s really rude to leave us here! We shouldn’t invest in such a project, should we?”

“Wilson just sent a message to suggest that we should invest very carefully. He is our partner and will not lie to us. As he warned us, you must not be optimistic about this project.”

Royce picked up the project book and flipped through it nonchalantly before nodding.

He looked at the time and stood up. “I still have something pending for later. Since Professor Myer is so busy, let’s go.”

“So, about the project…we’ll talk next time.”

With that, he opened the door and saw a tall American girl.
