Wayne picked up his phone and went outside to make a call. He was afraid Royce was going to leave. When he came out, he even turned to look at him.

706… it was the seventh floor. She pressed the elevator button.

The elevator quickly reached the second floor. He went up and pressed the button for the seventh floor.

The elevator arrived.

Nora had just exited the elevator when she heard two people talking in the corner.

Wayne was pulling Wilson back angrily. He was very anxious as he said, “Man, you definitely have bad intentions for coming here. How am I supposed to believe you? Let me tell you not to even think about coming into my lab. I won’t let you in.”

Wilson then scoffed. “I don’t understand what you are talking about. Let me tell you that I have been good friends with Mr. Royce of NTT for many years. I just don’t want him to be fooled. You can fool others, but not him.”

Wayne was now even more anxious.

At last he was back to continue his research. At last he could stop being a manager. However, due to 20 years of absence, the school and students no longer trusted him.

Social change was rapid and the school had developed a lot. When Wayne was mentioned, the new generation of investors would ask in confusion, “Who is that?”

No one would remember that over twenty years ago he was influential and successful at Staav University. They would only remember that he was a loser in business. He had gone out to start a business and failed.

So even though Wayne had been back for a month, the situation here had not been resolved.

His old friend saw that he was pitiful and recommended him to NTT. He even made a special point that he was an American teacher, so he had received this opportunity.

Wayne definitely could not give up.

If he had no money, he would have no project. If he couldn’t do this project, why had he come back?

He pulled Wilson back. “Aren’t you jealous that I’m getting involved with Royce? Wilson, don’t pretend to be so nice here. Let me tell you, there’s no way you’re going to see Wilson talk bad about me. Even if I have to stay out here all day, would I let you in! Get lost!” Wilson felt that Wayne was simply irrational.

Second, he planned to tell Royce how unreliable this person was and owe NTT a favor.

He had a good relationship with NTT the last few years. They had invested in many projects.

Wilson was furious and said, “Wayne, you’re too reckless! You and Lisa are the only ones in your lab – what kind of project is this? Aren’t you ripping off the investors?”

Although everyone thought highly of his projects, no one invested in them. The students weren’t dumb. He had just arrived this year and didn’t even have a graduate student under him. How could anyone follow him?

Only when they saw the investment would his peers decide to follow him.

But why would they invest in a project without enough members?

This was a vicious cycle.

Wilson laughed angrily. “It’s because the field you want to study is the wrong one. If it really had a future, why hasn’t anyone come? If they don’t see any short-term benefits, no one will follow you. Even if NTT invests in you, it will be a waste of money. I will not allow this to happen.”

With that, he shoved Wayne and walked away.

Wayne continued to hold him back. “Don’t even think about it!”

Wilson was truly speechless and anxious. He simply said, “It’s okay if I don’t leave, but if you don’t come back to the room for a long time, Royce and the others will leave. Doesn’t it make any difference?”

Wayne was anxious. He turned around and suddenly saw a female student standing outside the stairwell. Since he was holding Wilson, he couldn’t turn around and could only yell, “Is that Lisa over there?

Nora: “…Yes.”

Wayne immediately yelled, “Get in first and buy time!”
