Wayneâs gaze fell on the exam sheets and he immediately said, âI have something to attend to, so I have to go.â
Then, he turned around and started walking toward the door.
Wilson called out to him and said with a smile, âHey Myers, whatâs up, are you worried that your heart canât handle your test results? Donât worry, Iâm very good at CPRâ¦â.
Intense sarcasm oozed from the big, tall man.
Wayne was standing in the doorway with his back to him. Suddenly, he turned his head back and said, âWilson, youâre still as shallow as you were then. The quality of a student should never be judged by his test scores-thatâs the motto of our school, isnât it?â
Wilsonâs expression changed immediately, but he scoffed nonetheless and said, âThen what are you afraid of?â Wayne coughed and said, âWhat am I afraid of? Iâve never been afraid of anything, Iâm just very busy. I have an appointment with a potential investor. Thatâs the most important thing right now, isnât it?â.
After saying this, he ran off.
In some academic respects, students at NYU School of Medicine were really quite bad. If Lisa were an exchange student from Stanford University or Harvard University, maybe she wouldnât have been so bad.
But since he already knew what the outcome would be, why would he have to stay and be humiliated?
Wayne was very clear about that, which was why he had run away immediately.
Wilson: ââ¦â
The counselor: ââ¦â
An enraged Wilson quickly burst out. âThat guy is still as shameless as ever! Heâs always saying certain things in a high-flown way to emphasize how noble he is, when in reality heâs a despicable, shameless villain! Ha, so you refuse to look at the grades? Then all the more reason for me to look at Lisaâs grades! After grading her exam, please send them to Myersâ office! You should at least know your studentâs intelligence level, right?â.
After saying that, a vicious Wilson lowered his head, then looked at the neat and tidy exam.
The answer to the first question was choice C. On the paper, Lisa had chosen option C. The answers were to be shaded on the answer sheet.
Wilson curved his lips in disdain.
The first question was really easy. No wonder she got it right.
If he got even the first question wrong, he would have no hope for the rest of the exam.
Then he looked at the second question, the answer was option B. He had gotten it right again.
Well, this was also normal.
Then came the third question⦠the sixth⦠And the twentieth! He had gotten all the multiple choice questions right!
Wilson involuntarily straightened his back.
He quickly glanced at the fill-in-the-blank questions, which turned out to be all correct.
Again?
He turned the page and looked at itâ¦..
Since this was the final exam of the semester, the questions were all very difficult. Wilson was worried that even Oscar wouldnât be able to get them all right, but from start to finish, Lisa had gotten every question right! In particular, the optional bonus question⦠its difficulty level was very high and it was a topic that could only be studied at the graduate level.
Butâ¦
He had gotten that question right, too.
As Wilson reviewed the paper, he swallowed and looked at the counselor blankly.
When the counselor caught a glimpse of his expression, she immediately became nervous. âProfessor Wilson, did you do very poorly, did you get a D?â she asked.
Wilson smiled wryly and replied, âYou really donât know your student at all.â
The counselor slipped up even more. She was so anxious she was close to tears. âSurely that canât be an E, can it?â.
If someone got an E on the test, she would be responsible for it, too.
The counselor wanted the whole class to perform well. No one was to be left behind.
The counselor was quick to say, âProfessor Wilson, this student transferred at the end of the semester, so itâs normal that she canât keep up. Do you really have to give her an E? Can we let her take a make-up test after giving her some time to study?â
â⦠No, she⦠She got an A! A+!â
The counselor: â?â
She was flabbergasted. âWhat?â
Wilson put his exam aside. âWait a minute, maybeâ¦maybe thereâs something wrong with my test? Maybe itâs too easy?â
He thought he might have miscalculated the difficulty of the exam, so he pulled out Oscarâs exam and began to evaluate it.
Oscar got one multiple-choice question wrong and one fill-in-the-blank question wrong. In addition, he did not answer the bonus question correctlyâ¦.
Wilson: ââ¦â
He went limp and leaned back in his chair.
He raised his head uncomprehendingly and said, âIf I say I want Lisa now, do you think Myers will give her to me?â
Of course not.
Wayne was not to be trifled with.
The counselor and Wilson looked at each other.
Wilson scoffed and said, âHmph, whatâs the use of her doing bein on a test? As much as sheâs a star student, sheâs still an undergrad. Undergraduates can only be assistants in the lab. She wonât be of any help to our main experiments.â
Nora was completely unaware that anything like this had happened at school, let alone the fact that she was about to meet Wayne again after arriving in Switzerland.
After handing in her exam, she wandered around the school trying to find her way into the archives.
But in the end, she accidentally saw Kelvin and his crew filming in the distance again.
Nora: ââ¦â
Staav University was five thousand acres in size. It was logical that it was not easy to meet someone in such a big place. This was indeed a small world.
The corners of Noraâs lips tightened slightly and she turned to leave. But the moment she turned, she accidentally bumped into someone.
âSorry.â
The tall man said immediately. Then, when he looked at her, he exclaimed, âHey, itâs you! What a coincidence, weâve met again.â
Nora looked at the man in front of her. He had a strong, muscular build and well-defined facial features, he gave off a very bright and cheerful vibe.
Seeing the expressionless look on her face, the man laughed and said, âJack, itâs Jack. I almost hit you when I was playing basketball the other day, but you managed to block itâ¦â
Nora, finally remembering the incident, asked, âDo you need anything?â Jack smiled and asked, âDo you have a boyfriend?â.
Nora: â???â
In the distance, Kelvin, who was filming, had already spotted Nora at a glance as she approached. The man had a lot of work to do for his filming today, after all, âKelvinâ had been slacking off for the past few days.
Therefore, he had no plan to look for his sister-in-law. However, she hadnât expected a boy to stop her and ask such a question.
Kelvin smiled.
Ha.
Was he trying to woo his sister-in-law? He sure thought highly of himself.
Just as he thought that, he hears Nora reply, âI used to have one, but not anymore.â
Kelvin: â?????â
Jack was surprised. âAre they done?â
Nora shook her head. âNo, heâs dead.â
Kelvin: â!!!!â
Jack was even more astonished, but quickly recovered and said, âWell, thatâs too bad. Can I come get you?â
