Philip didnât look at Iris, but stepped to the side.
When Iris came out from behind Philip, she was still in a bit of disbelief. After being trapped by him for half a month, she had gotten used to it. She hadnât expected that she was actually going to be released.
She took two quick steps forward and approached Noraâs side.
Nora looked at her.
Iris knew what she meant. She shook her head.
Only then did Nora make a nonchalant gesture. With that, the Quinn Martial Arts School people and Jordanâs men moved out of the way and allowed Philip to leave.
Philip, however, looked at Iris. âIris, you canât stand it when we fight, can you? I know youâre afraid of me getting hurt, so that means I have a place in your heart, right? So why canât we be together?â
Iris looked down and sighed quietly. âPhilip, do you know what the biggest regret of my life is?â
Philip immediately replied, âThat you didnât leave with me back then!â.
Iris, however, merely smiled wryly. She really didnât know where the man got all that confidence. Word for word, she said, âWhat I regret most is that I knew you then.â
Philip stumbled and stood still. âWhat?â
Iris said slowly, âI said what I regret most is that I met you. If I hadnât met you, maybe I could have lived in peace all my life, couldnât I? I could happily divorce you if I wanted to, and go wherever I wanted to, instead of being stuck by you in the suburbs of New York for twenty years!â
Philip couldnât believe it. âIris, I donât believe you. You must be trying to provoke me. Otherwise, why would you make Nora let me go so easily?â
Iris lowered her head. âI simply donât want anything more to do with you. I expect you to respect yourself and never come near me or disturb my life ever again.â
After saying that, Iris turned and left with Nora while Philip stayed where he was.
âIris! Youâre lying! Everything you said is a lie!â shouted Philip and rushed after her. However, he was stopped by Lucas and the others.
âMr. Coleman, donât force us to take action against you.â After Nora and Iris left, Lucas and the others also left one after another.
Only Philip and his men remained.
A surprised Philip stared in the direction in which Iris had gone. After standing there for some time, he finally looked up at Jason and asked, âTell me, Jason, did I really make a mistake?â
Jason sighed. âBoss, letâs go home.â
Philip shook his head. âWithout her, where would my house be?â
Jason remained silent.
His bossâs love was simply too extreme. Probably no woman, no matter how strong or powerful, would be able to withstand his love, let alone Iris.
Jason was about to say something when Philip suddenly turned with a cold stare. He looked at the man who had tried to grab Cherry a moment ago and suddenly demanded, âWho asked you to attack the girl?â
Philip was not a good man.
But for Irisâ sake, he had wanted to keep the last of his moral boundaries in front of her.
When questioned by Philip, the man got a great shock and immediately dropped to his knees. âChief, I was only trying to save you!â
However, Philip lowered his gaze, turned and walked away.
Jason, who was following him, heard him say, âThereâs no need for a man who canât follow orders to come back to us.â
Jason understood immediately.
âYes, sir.â
This meant he was going to get rid of the man.
Jason followed close behind Philip. âChief, you can explain to Mistress Iris that you didnât order the man to do that. That way, maybe she wonât blame you anymore.â
Philip chuckled. âWould she believe anything I said?â
Jason was taken aback.
Philip said, âShe didnât start getting mad at me over this incident.â

Iris, who had returned home with Nora, was at that moment looking at the three precious children. With a sorrowful face, she looked at Nora and suddenly said, âNora, if you have something you want to do, do it. I can take care of the children.â
Now that Justin was gone, he didnât want to trap Nora with the Hunts.
If Justin was still alive, he probably wouldnât want Nora to be alone for the rest of her life either.
For her sonâs sake, Iris had already been miserable all her life. She didnât want Nora to be like her.
Hearing this, Nora immediately said, âYeah, well, it turns out Iâm about to go find Justin too. Iâll leave the Hunt Corporation to you for now.â
Iris was stunned at her words. She held Noraâs shoulders and said, ââ¦. Donât be sad. Itâs over, you have to face reality.â
Nora: ââ¦â
She was puzzled for a while. Then, she said, âIâm not sad!â.
However, Iris became nervous. âI understand, you may not be able to immediately accept the fact that Justin is gone, but Nora, if you want to cry, then cry. You donât have to pretend in front of me.â
She hugged Nora and continued to comfort her. âJustin wouldnât want you to be like this. He loved you so much, Iâm sure he would want you to be happy. Donât waste your own life, life isnât just about romance. Besides, you can still find another man if you meet a suitable one in the futureâ¦I know itâs not appropriate for me to say such things now, but Iâm really afraid youâll do something foolishâ¦.. Whatever happens, you have to stay strong. You still have your father and your children, okay?â.
Nora: â???â
Only then did she realize that she still hadnât told Iris that Justin wasnât dead!
