Seanâs words made sense.
To the point that Lawrence no longer knew what to say. He lowered his head and muttered to himself, âBut if we take the initiative to contact them, then it will look like we have accepted defeat.â
Taking the initiative to contact the enemy made it look like they were begging for mercy.
Sean looked at him. He really didnât know what he should say about him anymore.
Finally, he looked at Justin and asked, âChief, what do you think?â
Justin was hesitant to investigate what exactly had happened just because he didnât want to embarrass himself and end up making enemies all over the place.
The first principle of business was to maintain harmony above all else.
Justinâs fingers tapped the couch, his expression surprisingly calm. Although he was quite angry at Philipâs insistence that Nora had deceived him, his rationality was still intact.
He replied slowly, âThe question here is whether theyâll tell you even if you ask them.â
Sean frowned.
That was also what worried him.
Philip had made it clear that he intended to be on opposite sides with them. His attitude was as if he couldnât be bothered to talk to Justin, and as if he was determined to push them over the edge. At a time like this, even if he sent Sean to lean over and ask them about it, Philip definitely couldnât be bothered to say anything.
When Justin saw the big frown on Seanâs face, he finally smiled and said, âWhatâs the rush? Tell those customers to persevere a little longer. Even if we donât ask him about it, someone will reach out to him and find out for us what happened!â.
Lawrence gasped as he listened to him. He asked, âBoss, whoâs going to ask them about us?â.
Sean: ââ¦â
Justin: ââ¦â
Justin ignored Lawrence, put his head down and continued reading his papers and taking care of business.
As for Sean, the corners of his lips spasmed and he lowered his head and said, âI know what to do.â
Lawrence was still confused. âSean, what have you figured out, what are you and the boss talking in riddles about?â.
â⦠You might as well stay the bootlicker,â Sean replied.
Lawrenceâs attention was immediately diverted. âDamn you, Sean, are you looking for a spanking or what, youâre the bootlicker! Everyone in your family is a boot-licker. What I rely on is my education and my skills, okay?â
The two left the Hunt Corporation arguing.
On their way out, Sean happened to see Herman walking past him, so he stopped suddenly.
Lawrence bumped into him immediately. âWhat are you doing, has Philip scared you so much that your mind is no longer functioning?â
Sean frowned and sighed. âHow can that be? No matter how powerful Philip is, this is America! America will protect us. Besides, youâre not just up against the Hunt Corporation, youâre up against both the Hunt Corporation and the Smith Corporation, which are leading companies in the country. If we were overseas, we definitely wouldnât be their rival, but given the current situation, itâs hard to say who will be the winner!â
Lawrence nodded. âYouâre right!â
Sean spoke up again. âNo wonder the boss has decided to cover up the news that Miss Smith has cheated on her. Unless we have no other choice, the news must not get out.â
Lawrence: â?â
He gaped. He wanted to rebuke Sean and tell him that Miss Smith had not cheated on Justin and that the person in the villa was none other than Justin himself.
Other people might not know it, but he had delivered food to Justin before!
But when he looked up, he happened to see Herman standing where he was. Evidently, the elevator had already arrived, but he didnât get in. Lawrence understood at once.
The guy was indeed pretty smart; otherwise he wouldnât have been able to stand by Justinâs side and help him fend off all the unwanted advances about him all these years.
He said promptly and decisively, âYeah, itâs just that the Chief has suffered some grievances. Geez.â
Sean and Lawrence exchanged a glance. Then they both headed down the hallway beside them in unison.
As they left, Hermanâs face turned green.
Lauren, who was standing next to him, looked at Hermanâs expression and immediately said, âI didnât expect Justin to even be willing to be a cuckold just so he could keep his position! Geez, he may despise you, but at least you were so much better than him back then!â.
Herman looked at her suddenly. âYou talk too much!â
Lauren knew Herman didnât want to talk about the shame and humiliation of having been forced to give up his wife, so she immediately said, âDonât take it too personally. What happened then wasnât your fault, really.â
Herman lowered his head. âIf Justin loses the Smithsâ support, I wonder how long heâll be able to keep his position as president of the company!â
Laurenâs eyes twinkled as she heard this.
She said, âIâll go ask around.â
The two went downstairs. With his chauffeur driving, Herman took Lauren to the hotel where Philip was staying. He had just made an appointment with Philip, the two were really planning to join forces this time.

At the hotel.
In the study, Herman and Philip discussed how they should proceed to abolish the Hunt Corporation. Laurenâs status wasnât worthy of seeing Philip yet, so she could only chat with Jason, Philipâs assistant, outside the door.
Jason had his hands placed in front of him, and he remained in place properly and not moving at all. It was obvious at first glance that he was trained in martial arts. He was not only Philipâs assistant, but also his bodyguard.
After a momentâs thought, Lauren leaned over to him and asked, âMr. Jason, to be honest, even though Herman and Justin are fighting each other in the company, Iris is still in charge of family affairs. I plan to fight for the rights to the house, so I would like to ask you for a favor.â
Jason looked at her with some disdain, but asked nonetheless, âWhat kind of favor?â
Lauren said sheepishly, âOriginally, the whole Nora Smith cheating thing was already a sure bet, but who knew that Justin would suddenly appear out of nowhere and insist that he was at the villa during those days. In reality, he had gone abroad during that time. We all know this very well, but even so, I have no real proof, so I canât cement the fact that Nora cheated eitherâ¦. If the news about her cheating can be cemented and published on the internet, the Hunts will have to break off the engagement with the Smiths, if for no other reason than to avoid embarrassment. When that happens, he will no longer have any help from the Smiths.â
Hearing this, Jason narrowed his eyes and suddenly said, âNora Smithâs secret lover is Q, the hacker.â
âWhat?â Lauren didnât expect to get such important information out of Jason so easily. She said in surprise, âReally?â
âYes,â Jason told her about the evidence he had found.
Lauren instantly understood.
After Herman and Lauren left, Jason finally entered the office and said, âI told Lauren about Nora Smith having Q as a mistress.â
âOkay.â
Philip said, âEagle of the Imperial League is probably a Smith. I donât want to antagonize members of the group either.â
After all, King had sided with Eagle last time.
Therefore, when Herman was on his way earlier that day, Philip had hinted to Jason to give them the true identity of Noraâs secret lover, as well as proof of it.

On the third day.
As soon as Nora woke up, she received a call from a worried Tanya. In a low, hoarse voice, Nora asked, âWhatâs wrong?â.
Tanya immediately replied, âNora, youâre trending on social media again! They say theyâve found out who the handsome guy is that you have as a lover.â
