Justin looked off into the distance as he hung up the call.

There was a tinge of loneliness in his eyes.

To be honest, he had never believed that his mother had suddenly stopped loving him. As a child, he had been so stubborn that he had passed out in the rain. When he had woken up, he had known at once that it would be useless to go near her again.

Later, when he grew up, he suddenly discovered one day that a servant in his house was recording a video of him. Later, the servant had sent it to someone.

At first, she had thought that the servant must be up to something, so she had been constantly on guard against him. However, as time went on, the servant took no action.

As he grew older, Justin studied and quietly learned hacking techniques without anyone knowing. Then he hacked the servant’s phone and discovered his secret.

It turned out that all the videos of him – from the time he was a child until he became a young adult – had been sent by the servant to his mother, who had never shown any concern for him.

He took the opportunity to hack into his mother’s phone, and found all the videos of him stored on it. All the videos of him, from the time he was a child until he became a young adult, were there. None of them had been deleted. And every night, before bed, he watched the videos of him over and over again.

Justin was then thirteen years old.

From then on, he was certain that his mother was hiding something from him, and that she had her reasons and difficulties for doing so.

It could be said that he had never held a grudge against his mother.

However, this did not mean that he was not angry about it.

In fact, he was furious.

When he was young, he could do nothing. So, for his own good, his mother had kept those secrets from him. But even when he grew up, was his mother still unable to believe him?

Besides…

It was undeniable that both feelings and relationships were built and developed through daily contact and interaction. The twenty years of separation had left him and Iris without much to say to each other.

That was why, later on, he only visited her occasionally at the villa, and never without reason.

He was waiting.

He was waiting for his mother to take the initiative to tell him the truth. But, judging by her behavior, did his mother intend to keep it from him for the rest of his life? Just because it would get him into trouble?

Justin hung his head.

To be honest, there were times when he felt like giving up the investigation.

So what if he found out what had happened?

Since he hadn’t been there for her growing up, why should he be there for her as she grew older…? Besides, sometimes habit was a terribly frightening thing: he had already grown accustomed to not having her at home.

If a day came when she suddenly found herself with a nagging mother, she couldn’t get used to it either.

However, when he heard from Sean that she had cried, his heart softened again.

Whatever happened, they were still mother and son. Even if he was indifferent by nature, and even if he only cared about a few people, the woman was still among the few he cared about.

Besides – and also the main reason – Nora seemed to share a very good relationship with her.

Upstairs.

Nora entered the room and saw Cherry with a long face. Even though she was sitting on the couch and playing, she was not happy.

Pete looked at her, “What’s wrong, is something bothering you?”

Cherry killed an enemy in the game and then looked at him. “Is it that obvious that I’m upset?”

“… You didn’t speak ill of anyone today while playing,” Pete replied with the corners of his lips suffering a twitch. The little girl was just short of blatantly writing the words ‘I’m sad’ on her face.

Even Princess Lucy asked, “Cherry, what’s the matter, did someone bully you? I’ll have the bodyguards beat the crap out of you.” As she spoke, she even shook her little fists. She looked like a barbie doll.

Cherry sighed quietly. “Don’t hit her, Lucy. You don’t understand.”

A puzzled Lucy asked, “What don’t I understand, is that some kind of rule in America? Why do you have to put up with that person bothering you?”

“Because it’s my grandmother we’re talking about!”.

Cherry rested her chin on her hand and said, “Grandma was very nice to me in the past, I don’t know why she suddenly changed today. She must have a reason for doing it, do you know why she did it, Pete?”.

Pete shook his head. “I don’t know.”

Cherry was a little disappointed. “You’re so stupid~”

Cherry sighed quietly. “Forget it, it’s time for my live stream!”

After speaking, she sat down on the sofa and opened the live streaming app.

Seeing the little ones chatting so happily, Nora didn’t go in to disturb them and left instead.

Cherry wasn’t one for beating around the bush, so she would never take such small matters to heart. Nor did she need Nora to comfort her. In her opinion, Justin was simply spinning things too much.

When he left, she looked down again and saw that there was no one in the room. There was, however, a figure on the balcony.

Although Nora was very sleepy and was eager to find a place to sleep, thinking about how hurtful Iris’s words earlier that day had been to Justin, she went downstairs and headed toward him.

As she approached, she saw the man standing with his back to her.

The moonlight cast a silvery glow on him, softly silhouetting the dark, clouded figure. He gave off a sense of alienation and indifference, but at the same time, he looked as if he had been forgotten in a corner.

He looked so sad and lonely that it was pitiful.

Especially when the man, who had never smoked, was currently holding a cigar between his fingertips. The cigar smoke curled upward, making him look even lonelier.

Nora felt they could make a movie out of the scene.

The corners of Nora’s lips twitched slightly. She hadn’t expected the man to be so deeply wounded.

She walked over and stood behind him. Just as she was about to speak, the man suddenly turned and hugged her tightly. His chest was very hard and solid. She felt quite uncomfortable when he hugged her so tightly.

However, Nora did not dare to push him away at a time like this, for fear that she would become even sadder, because the man went on to whisper in her ear, “Nora, you are the only one I have left now.”

Nora kept quiet for three seconds, but in the end she couldn’t help but say, “You still have Cherry, Pete, Xander, Brenda, also Sean and Lawrence left. Plus there’s also…”

Justin: “…”

He really shouldn’t have let the woman speak. The moment she opened her mouth, she would absolutely become the insensitive girl who ruined the mood!

The corners of Justin’s lips tightened. Seeing that Nora was planning to continue listing the rest, he suddenly lowered his head decisively and caught the woman’s lips.

He could see the girl suddenly freeze. Then, her almond-shaped eyes widened and she looked at him in astonishment. It seemed her first reaction was to push him away, but she restrained herself.

Justin closed his eyes. He could sense that the girl was being extra-tolerant today, so he pushed his luck and invaded her mouth.

The man’s crisp tobacco smell rushed into Nora’s nostrils in a bossy way, making her feel that the smell was actually quite pleasant….

To be honest, she hadn’t thought to push him away.

If the man needed a hug and a kiss to reinforce his sense of security, she didn’t mind giving it to him.

Besides, he was exceptionally pitiful today. So, not only did Nora not resist, she even stretched her arms out and wrapped them tightly around his neck, and began to respond to his kiss.

The atmosphere gradually became amorous.

It seemed that all the air on the balcony had been sucked out. In the narrow space, the man’s and woman’s breasts rose and fell. After a while, Justin suddenly lifted Nora up and carried her like a newlywed bride. He said, “Let’s go…upstairs to the bedroom.”

The suggestion in his words was very evident.

As he stared at Nora, he saw the girl, whose cheeks were scarlet and her eyes misted over, reply, “Okay.”
