Chester grew up with Justin, so his older brother had always inspired awe and respect in him as if he were his father.
Therefore, he felt very guilty about hiding the truth from Justin.
If Justin didnât ask, he wouldnât say anything. But now that he had, he shouldnât lie!
As such, he stammered, âYourâ¦. your daughterâ¦â
His daughter? Well, the little streamer had called him Daddy for two hours, but he was actually her real Daddy Sponsor.
At that moment, a quiet voice reached them. âWhat live stream are you talking about?â
Pete sat up straight. Although his voice still had a childlike quality to it, it nevertheless gave off a sense of calm and firmness.
Chester replied, âMy team leader at the game hosted a live broadcast todayâ¦â.
Justin snorted coldly. âYou really recognize a five or six year old girl as your leader? How promising of you.â
Pete, ââ¦â
The leader of Uncle Chesterâs team in the game was Cherry.
She calmed down her expression and began to talk nonsense with a serious expression. âUncle Chester, you must have been tricked. A lot of people use voice modulators these days.â
Chester, â?â
However, Justin said, âIt didnât sound like he was using a voice modulator.â
However, he didnât dwell on this. Instead, after shooting a glance at Chester, he asked dispassionately, âDo you intend to play for the rest of your life?â
Chester shook his head. âActually, I want to be a professional e-sports player and set up my own team, but I donât have that kind of money. I-â
âIs eight million enough?â Justinâs voice was cold and crisp as he nonchalantly cut off a piece of his steak.
Chester was stunned.
As he looked at Justin, his eyes suddenly reddened. It was like when he was still a kid. When he had said he didnât want to study, no one in the family had supported him. Everyone had called him useless. Justin was the only one who had asked him, âSo, what do you want to do?â.
Justin had always respected his dreams.
Chester lowered his head. His voice sounded a little choked as he answered, âYes.â
âWell, I think that girl has a bright future ahead of her,â Justin said, âYou can recruit her to your team.â
Chester, â?â
All his emotions from a moment ago evaporated in an instant.
If Justin knew that was his daughter, he probably wouldnât even think about it anymore!
He stammered, âJustin, you seem to like my team leader quite a bit.â
âThatâs okay, I guess.â
Justin held out another piece of steak and said, âThis tastes pretty good.â

On the Smiths.
Before he knew it, it was already noon. Joel walked into the room and saw Ian looking at the screen of the live stream that had already ended.
After a momentâs hesitation, he asked, âIs there anything you feel like eating today, Uncle Ian?â.
At first he had thought he would have no appetite, as usual, and would just patronize him a bit, but, unexpectedly, Ian replied, âA steak, I guess.â
Joel was taken aback.
His uncle had not eaten meat for several years. Because he had lost the will to live, he had lost interest in everything, including eating.
What had happened?
Joel couldnât figure it out, so he simply decided not to think about it anymore. He was fine as long as Uncle Ian was willing to eat!

âMmm!â
Cherry stuffed a piece of steak into her mouth, which was so full that her cheeks were bulging. Her lips were full of fat and her big black eyes were filled with a rich sense of satisfaction. She didnât speak clearly as she said, âThis is delicious!â.
Her adorable appearance gave Melissa, who had prepared the meal, a sense of satisfaction. She patted him on the head and said, âIf Cherry likes it, Great Aunt Melissa will make some for you again!â
âGood!â
Cherry nodded repeatedly as she doled out compliments generously. âNot only is Great Aunt Melissa pretty, but sheâs also kind and a great cook! Aunt Sheril is lucky to have a mom like you.â
No sooner had she said that than she saw Nora coming down the stairs. Cherry blinked and added, âBut my mom is super awesome too!â.
Nora raised an eyebrow. âOh? What part of me do you think is awesome?â
Cherry thought for a while. Then, she tilted her head and replied, âYouâre awesome at sleeping!â
ââ¦â
Nora decided not to say anything to the little girl. After stretching and yawning, she walked over, took a seat and finished her meal in a few bites.
There was an unusual guest at the table today â Logan Anderson.
He ate slowly and gracefully. When he saw Nora devouring her meal, he inadvertently curved his lip.
The way her cousin ate as if she had never eaten anything in her lifeâ¦.
She lowered her beautiful almond-shaped eyes. There was no contempt in her eyes, however, but only a thoughtful look.
After lunch, Nora went upstairs and packed Cherryâs backpack for school. When she came back downstairs, Cherry had almost finished eating as well.
Seeing the backpack in her hands, a stunned Melissa asked, âWhere are you going, Nora?â
Nora replied, âTo an interview.â
âAt Sol de Oro International Kindergarten?â
âYes.â
Melissa apologized, âBut we donât have any interview slots. Give me a little time; Iâve already asked my family, although they havenât given me any answers yetâ¦â
No sooner had she said that than the piercing sound of the chair dragging against the floor rang out.
Logan stood up abruptly. âMom, did you go back to the Woods and let them bully you again?â
As if afraid Nora would notice something, Melissa scowled toward Logan and said, âLogan, shut up!â
Logan snorted. âMom, have you forgotten what you told Sheril and me in the past? Does attending that daycare even make any sense?â
Melissa had never been one to worry about superficial formalities like that.
When Sheril and Logan didnât get a spot in the interview to enroll in daycare, she had told the two children, âEnrolling in daycare doesnât make you noble. What makes you a noble character is when you value and respect yourself.â
Melissa, however, frowned.
Holding Logan, she lowered her voice and said, âNora is different from you two! She grew up somewhere else. If Cherry canât even attend that kindergarten, Iâm worried that Nora wonât be able to hold her head up in the circle in the future!â
Logan understood all this.
But the moment he thought his elegant, graceful mother was returning to the Woods to be abused by othersâ¦..
He said desultorily, âDo you really think she can enroll Cherry in kindergarten even if she has a letter of recommendation? Thereâs no way sheâll pass the interview.â
Melissa patted him on the shoulder and said, âThatâs why I brought you here. I want you to take them there and accompany Nora to the interview.â
Logan was stunned.
He clenched his jaw. His features, which were similar to Noraâs, carried an air of unbridled defiance and defiance. He said, âBut the Woods havenât even sent the letter of recommendation yet!â
Melissa sighed. She knew her sister-in-law must be making things difficult for her again. She said, âIâll call them and urge them.â
Rather than saying she was ânaggingâ themâ¦. Actually it was more like he was begging them.
Loganâs expression turned even colder. It was at that moment that they both heard a cold, indifferent voice, âYou donât have to beg them for one. I already have an interview slot.â
Startled, Melissa looked at Nora and asked, âHow did you get the spot, Nora?â
Nora was about to give her a simple explanation when her cell phone rang.
As she picked it up, she heard the voice of Lisa, her cousin from California, communicating with her over the phone. She said, âNora, I suspect you are not Uncle Henryâs daughter at all.â
