Jackâs mother hadnât taken her son to the hospital to have his wound treated right away to please Pete.
For many years, his family had strived to make Jack Peteâs right-hand man. Unfortunately, both Pete and Justin were very indifferent to each other.
Especially since Pete also had mild autism, which led to him having no one close to him at home.
Thatâs why Jackâs mother saw this incident as an opportunity, despite his injury.
She said, âYes, Pete, tell him what happened. Quick, tell your father how annoying that boy is. He often loses his temper and bullies others for no reason. Heâs too overbearing. He is also very wild and has no manners whatsoever. Have your father throw him out of the house, or take him away and have him educated before he comes home. Otherwise, with so many children in the house, who knows who would be bitten next?â
Her hints were already so obvious. Pete should have understood.
However, Pete didnât speak.
Jackâs mother was stunned. Suddenly, she realized that maybe Pete didnât want to get involved in the dispute. If word got out that it was Pete who had pushed Xander away, his reputation would take a big hit.
He narrowed his eyes immediately, sensing that he was still ultimately underestimating Pete.
His knack for infighting in the house was simply too great.
She thought she would just watch from the sidelines.
But because she wanted to express her loyalty to him, Jackâs mother spoke up again presumptuously. âI suddenly remembered something. Pete had been busy when Jack came to visit. Pete, didnât you see them fighting?â
As soon as she said that, Pete suddenly replied, âI did.â
Jackâs mother was puzzled, but immediately brightened up. âThen hurry up and tell your father what the truth is!â
Was Pete really getting involved?
She was ecstatic. Elsewhere, Xander looked at Pete and thought about the conversation he had just overheard.
Pete wanted to push him away.
Just like Dad had said, no one in this family welcomed him. He was nothing more than an extra. The womanâs children were, no doubt, filled with hostility toward him.
Ha.
Did they think he wanted to be here?
Xander lifted his chin and turned his head stubbornly to the side. Then, he heard Pete say, âIndeed, it was Xander who bit Jackâs ear.â
Xander clenched his little fists and became even more contemptuous.
He snorted coldly. âYeah, I bit him, so what about it? If youâre so cool, then why donât youâ¦â
Before I could finish, Pete continued. âBut it was Jack who fought first. He called Xander an illegitimate son who had no mother and even said that Dad wouldnât want him and would kick him out. The group went so far as to hit Xander. Xander only bit him in self-defense.â
As soon as he said that, everyone in the room fell silent.
They all looked at Pete in disbelief.
After clearly relating what had happened, Pete spoke no more. Instead, he stepped back and exchanged a glance with Cherry.
Cherry had a big smile on her face, and gave her brother a big thumbs-up.
Pete raised his eyebrows.
The once icy and autistic boy could now exchange lively, excited looks with the others.
Jackâs motherâs jaw dropped. She stayed where she was, stunned, and stared at Pete in disbelief. She gulped. âPete, do you know what you just said?â
Pete closed his eyes. âYes, I do.â
While he did want to drive Xander away, it wasnât going to be by such despicable means. Besidesâ¦
A tinge of anger flashed in Peteâs eyes.
Xander was daddyâs boy. He only wanted to push him away because he was worried that his existence would affect Momâs emotions.
But that didnât mean the others could bully him.
If Xander didnât do anything good, or if he made Mom uncomfortable, then Pete definitely wouldnât have a soft heart. However, he couldnât lie in this case.
Justin looked at the son he had raised with satisfaction.
No matter the situation, Pete had never let him down. He would play little pranks on him to get him to neglect Xander a little, but in the face of what was right and what was wrong, he was never ambiguous.
He ruffled Peteâs hair gently. Then, he looked at Jackâs mother. With a sharp look, he said, âLooks like Gordonâs been too busy lately. That must be why he hasnât been raising Jack right. In that case, Iâll let him come back and spend some quality time with his son!â
Gordon Hunt was Jackâs father.
Although he wasnât a valued member of the company or the family, Justin would assign him some jobs and projects so he could earn a little extra money from them.
But now that they had the audacity to call Xander an illegitimate son?
In that case, he no longer needed to pursue those jobs and projects.
Justin could dislike and ignore his son â in fact, he could even lecture him â but the others were not allowed to.
As soon as Justin said that, the blood drained from Jackâs motherâs face. She said, âJustin, Iâ¦Iâ¦let me explainâ¦â
âI only believe what Pete says.â
Justin interrupted her. Then, he looked at the butler. âSince Jack is behaving so badly, he needs to be properly educated. Donât let him attend classes at the Huntsâ private school for a while.â
âYes, sir.â
Replied the butler. Then, with a gesture, in rushed the security officers. They grabbed Jack and his mother immediately, then pulled them both out.
Jackâs motherâs jaw dropped.
All of the Hunt children attended the Huntsâ private school so they could relate to each other. After all, there were fewer and fewer people in the direct lineage. If the people in the side families were too far apart, who would remember them in the future?
However, Justin had directly forbidden Jack to attend classes with just one word!
This showed that the Hunts intended to abandon their family.
He screamed and cried. He wanted to apologize and he wanted to talk, but Justin would not give him the opportunity to do so. He kicked them out immediately.
Xander stared blankly at everything that was happening in front of him.
He hadnât expected Pete to speak for him, nor had he expected the tyrant to address the problem in such a way.
He remembered that he too had gotten into a fight with a boy in the past, but Papa Trueman had told him that he had to find a way to work it out himself. If he beat them up and made them bleed, then they wouldnât dare bully him anymore.
Thatâs when Xander started attacking the others. At first, he only used his small fists. Only when he discovered that he didnât make the other party bleed, did he start biting.
Every time he bit someone and made them bleed, Trueman would clap his hands and say, âGood job! Keep it up.â
But nowâ¦
Was Justin really dealing with the boy who had bullied him on his behalf?
Suddenly he felt that this family wasnât so bad eitherâ¦.
Just as his imagination was running wild, Justin squatted down again and looked directly at him. He asked, âXander, have you come looking for me?â.
