Xander was stunned. He decided not to tell Trueman the truth, but instead replied, “It’s nothing.”

Then, he suddenly asked, “Dad, do you think I really won’t be able to get along with my new dad?”.

Trueman scoffed, “Of course. Do you think Justin Hunt treats you right?”

Xander thought for a moment and replied, “Not too well, but not too bad either, I guess.”

“So, what about Nora Smith?”

Xander cocked his head to the side and replied, “She treats me well, too. She hasn’t kicked me out, nor has she argued with Justin to kick me out. Instead, she’s very calm, like she doesn’t care about my existence.”

“Really?”

Trueman sounded a little unhappy. “That woman sure has a big heart. Or should I say she doesn’t love Justin Hunt at all? If not, why wouldn’t she care if her man had another son?”

Xander touched his nose and asked suddenly, “Is there any chance she thinks I’m cute, so she can’t stand to do anything to me?”

“Heh,” Trueman suddenly laughed. “Do you think a woman would find her husband’s illegitimate son cute?”

Xander felt very uncomfortable at being called an illegitimate son.

But he didn’t get angry.

Because Trueman was right.

For a while, Xander didn’t speak.

Not only had Pete exhibited a high IQ since he was a baby, but his mother was even the youngest of the Smiths. With status like hers, how could she not be able to protect Pete?

Therefore, everyone looked down on Xander.

The children’s words made Xander clench his fists.

He glared at the kids in front of him. As much as he wanted to charge forward and claw at their faces, he couldn’t do it. Each of them was much stronger than he was.

He focused on the leader of the group.

The boy was taunting him. He said, “Did you grow up with dogs and cats, do you sleep with them, then can you talk like a dog?”

He whispered something.

The leader of the children immediately stepped forward and asked curiously, “What else do you know?”

Xander smiled, “Come here, I’ll just tell you.”

“Okay.”

The child leaned into his face. The next moment, Xander’s sharp little teeth imprisoned his ear.

“Ahhh!” a piercing scream pierced through the ceiling to the sky.

The boy shoved Xander away, but didn’t let go. The rest of the children pounced and began beating Xander, but he still refused to let go.

It wasn’t until his teeth went all the way through the boy’s ear that he finally let go. He ignored the pain throughout his body.

He smiled and said, “Besides knowing how to bark like a dog, I also know how to bite like one.”

He held out his hand and looked at the others. “Who wants to be bitten next?”.

Xander had blood at the corner of his lips at that point. After he said that, his malevolent eyes looked at the other children. When the children saw the boy bleeding profusely, they were so frightened that they immediately scattered. “Run!”

Even the boy who was bitten grabbed his ear and ran off with the other children.

Seeing them leave, Xander wiped the corners of his lips. He rolled his eyes and headed for Justin’s study.

He was going to tell his father that his birthday was also September 8th and that he was not an illegitimate child.

He would get his father to announce to everyone on his birthday that he was his son.
