Nora drove straight to Justinâs villa.
As soon as she entered, someone had alerted Justin to her arrival. So when Nora stopped the car, Justin was already in the parking lot waiting for her.
When Nora got out of the car, she saw Justin looking a little serious. Unconsciously, she asked him, âWhatâs wrong?â
After a brief silence, Justin replied, âIâm thinking of celebrating Cherryâs birthday.â
Celebrating her birthdayâ¦.
Nora was taken aback for a moment. Only then did she realize that in five days it would be Cherryâs birthday.
Although that day was Cherryâs birthday, it was also the day she had lost Pete. Therefore, she rarely celebrated Cherryâs birthday in the past.
Also, when they were overseas, they had very few relatives with them. Whenever it was Cherryâs birthday, her aunt would just make her a small present and buy her a cake.
From what Justin had said, she sure wasnât planning to throw a big birthday party for her, was she?
What had happened?
Nora looked at him dubiously, only to see Justin sigh and say quietly, âI want to throw a nice birthday party and formally introduce Cherry and Pete to the public.â
In the past, she had kept Pete very well protected and had kept outsiders from knowing what he looked like to prevent him from being kidnapped.
But now that Pete was five years old, there was no need to hide him any longer. At the very least, it was time to let the New Yorkers get acquainted with Pete and Cherry.
Just as Fatty had said, the way she kept hiding them was as if she had no intention of recognizing the two children.
Nora didnât know what had happened, but she would never object to something that was expendable to her but could put Cherry on cloud nine.
Thatâs right, Cherry loved thrills. She had always envied how lively and exciting Princess Lucyâs birthdays were. Princess Lucy even had lots of people visiting her to give her birthday presents, whereas she didnât have any friends.
She also wanted to wear a beautiful dress like a princess, and gracefully thank everyone for attending the party.
Now, her father could finally make that wish come true for her.
Nora asked, âAre you going to celebrate at the Huntsâ house?â
Justin nodded. âYes. Iâll let the butler take care of it, you donât have to worry about it.â
That way there would be less trouble.
Nora readily agreed.
As the two talked, they started walking toward the living room.
When they entered, they arrived just in time to see the three children sitting in the living room and playing with building blocks.
Pete was arranging the blocks while Cherry and Xander directed him from both sides.
âPete, it looks like that block should be placed here.â
âHey, itâs obvious it should be placed here, right?â.
Pete kept a kind expression on his face and looked at Cherry. He said, âI think Xanderâs right.â
Cherry thought for a while and then said, âI think so too.â
Xander: â?â
Just as he was confused as to what was going on, Nora and Justin walked in.
What met their eyes was the sight of the three kids having fun together.
Both Nora and Justin were a little surprised.
They both knew all too well what the children they had raised were really like.
From Noraâs perspective, Cherry was a man with the appearance of a girl who would never tolerate someone else taking her place. She would undoubtedly be filled with hostility towards Xander.
From Justinâs perspective, although his son was taciturn, he was actually a very calculating boy. Coupled with his insecurities, he was very territorial.
The two boys had only accepted each other so quickly because they simply looked so much alike, and also because they had the common experience of switching places with each other.
But they were definitely not people who could easily accept another child.
Justin and Nora looked at each other. Justin asked, âWhat are you two doing?â
Cherry immediately raised her little head. âDad, weâre playing together. Pete and I really like our little brother Xander-â
Xander immediately frowned. âI told you Iâm older!â
Cherry sighed helplessly. âIn that case, when were you born? I was born on the eighth of September. Itâll be my birthday in five days-oh, yeah, itâll be Peteâs birthday too! Weâre twins, so we have the same birthday-what about you?â
