Nora withdrew the hand with which she was checking Pete’s pulse.

Pete had no major health problems. It was just some small problems typical of children.

From the looks of it, the gene serum had no effect on him.

Nora was relieved. She squinted her eyes and then answered the call.

A low, deep male voice came from the other end. “Hello, who are you?”

Nora frowned and immediately identified herself. “I’m Nora Smith. You should know who I am, right?”

The call was immediately muted.

Nora said slowly, “Charles, I know you were my mother’s subordinate. I have some questions for you.”

Perhaps because she had called him by name, Charles replied, “I have nothing to say to you!”.

He hung up immediately after saying that.

Nora stared at the phone and clenched her jaw.

Why wasn’t Charles talking?

Was he hiding something?

She picked up the phone and immediately began tracing the call to find out his location.

Half an hour later, Nora stopped when she saw Charles’ location. She got up, ran out of the house and drove straight to the hospital.

That’s right.

Charles was in the hospital.

After Nora hurried to the hospital and got out of the car, she immediately saw a group of nurses and doctors moving about hurriedly and busy at work. Ambulances were arriving at the hospital entrance one after another.

A bunch of people in white lab coats were anxiously rendering first aid to the victims coming out of the ambulances.

Their white clothes were stained red and some of the victims’ blood had soaked the white sheets, forming a shocking and heartbreaking spectacle.

All the non-emergency corridors of the hospital had been closed, and all the doctors had rushed to attend to the victims of the traffic accident.

Nora stood in the doorway and looked at her busy colleagues. She heard a doctor approaching and ask, “What happened?”

“Gosh, it’s a long story. A bus was in a traffic accident. All fifty-odd people on the bus are injured.”

“Really, how did this happen all of a sudden? I’ll take care of the patient over here, you can take care of the one over there…”

Although the doctors were nervous, they attended to the victims in an orderly fashion. The other patients also wisely stepped aside.

When a real catastrophe occurred, everyone knew that life was more important than anything else.

Beep, beep, beep… A medical instrument began beeping a warning beep. Nora looked to the side and saw that an unsupervised victim had suddenly gone into shock.

Hearing the warning beep, a frightened nurse shouted, “Where’s Dr. Wilson, where’s Dr. Wilson?”

“A patient just suffered a cardiac arrest, Dr. Wilson has gone to see him!”

The nurse went into a great panic. “This patient has gone into shock! What do we do now?”

Nora approached unconsciously. She was wearing a black shirt. She picked up a white lab coat from the side and put it on. Then, she approached the nurse and said, “Let me do it!”.

“You? Who are you?”

The nurse looked at her doubtfully. “Are you a doctor?”

Nora’s one sentence shushed the nurse, “I’m Anti.”

The name Anti was undoubtedly an imposing existence for people in the medical industry.

Therefore, a look of joy immediately appeared on the nurse’s face. “What should we do with this patient?”

Nora glanced at the patient and immediately gave instructions, “Start CPR immediately. Inject 5 ml of…”

Perhaps because her voice was too calm and soothing, the nurse gradually calmed down. At his command, she began to perform CPR on the patient.

What came next was a series of first aid measures. Finally, the patient’s heartbeat returned to normal. Nora touched his abdomen and said, “The patient has internal bleeding. Send him for surgery immediately.”

“Yes, doctor!”

Usually, patients had to go for X-rays, and besides, it was not even known what part of the body needed to be X-rayed before they could receive treatment. In the process of searching for the cause of their disease, they ended up losing the most optimal treatment time.

However, with just a casual touch, Nora had found out the cause of the patient’s condition, thus speeding up the rescue process. This also saved them a lot of unnecessary trouble.

Once the first aid was finished, the people outside were dispersing.

Most of the patients had also been triaged. Patients with minor to moderate injuries were resting in the corridor outside due to the lack of beds.

As for the patients with serious injuries, they had been taken to the operating rooms.

There were enough doctors in the hospital. So, after the initial panic, order resumed and they began to give medical treatment in an orderly fashion.

Nora removed her mask and gloves, then threw the white lab coat into the next room. As she looked around, she noticed a man standing in the doorway of the operating room. He was talking to a nurse excitedly. “I’m so excited. Gosh, I’m so lucky. Really, I’m just too lucky….. We’re talking about a whole busload of people. The bus even overturned, and everyone is hurt, but not me! Look at me, I didn’t even get a scratch!”

The nurse said, “… Yes, okay, sir, we understand, but I still suggest you have a full body exam. After all, there could still be a lot of internal injuries.”

The man patted his chest. “No way, I’m really fine! There’s nothing wrong with me at all! Look at me, look at the energy I have! I’m the luckiest person in the world.”

As the man spoke, he began to turn on the spot.

At first, Nora had noticed the man by his demeanor, but at the very moment he turned, Nora suddenly froze.

Because… there was a mole on one side of the man’s face, AND there was even a lock of hair on the mole!

When she related this to the reason Nora had come to the hospital….

She narrowed her eyes. Suddenly, she took a step forward and patted the man on the shoulder.

The man turned away.

Nora narrowed her eyes and stared at him. “What a coincidence, Charles.”
